Spectacular king room had amazing views of Navy Pier and LSD. Well worth the money. Generous and very friendly staff. Clean rooms, awesome bathroom, fast elevators, everything you want in a hotel, even the small things! Will definitely be staying here again!
Absolutely gorgeous hotel! Fine dining .. the best hospitality, I highly recommend staying here .. I'm enjoying my stay using pool and workout room as well.. the staff is very attentive, I'm so grateful for our work seminar being here . I will be coming back for a weekend trip soon..
Wonderful hotel! Fabulous views of the lake. Ask for lakeside room! Bar staff in lobby very friendly! Didn’t eat here at all so cannot comment! Would recommend this hotel. Just bring good walking shoes on your trip, as you will walk a lot!
Very nice ! Never had any problems ! Food is high priced ,but enough places close by to eat . Coffee for us In morning . Very nice rooms . Parking high priced but all of the place charges quite a bit . Very clean and friendly . Beautiful views looking at the city or views of the lake . Walking distance to Navy Pier or city .
Excellent place to stay. Nice view of the lake and navy pier
Stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary....gorgeous, modern and clean hotel! Loved that the room seems like a studio apartment. Katia at the front desk is so nice and helpful! Definitely recommend this place to stay!
Rooms are nice and modern, however I have been twice now with W Chicago Lakeshore and by opening the room door, the door grinds against the frame and it's loud besides I did mentioned that at the front desk on my first visit, however on my recent visit was unfortunately the same.
Service is nice. You can have complementary coffee in the morning in lobby area. There is no coffee machine nor a water kettle (standard) in room. It is however possible to order a kettle or coffee maker in room as long as those available. Was even missing cups and glasses in room as well.
The location is excellent by the way very central and direct opposite of water, beach and pier.
The location is perfect! Beautiful scenery all around, amazing view from the suite, definitely a vibe. The staff was very accommodating. Everyone from the doormen to concierge checked on us daily. They'd ask how our trip was going, and then take it a step further by recommending something THEY could do to better it. Good customer service is rare nowadays, so I had to leave a review to express our appreciation. Chicago is always a good time, but staying at the W - Lakeshore made it even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
Our suite was very nice. We had a wonderful view. We were even able to watch the Navy Pier fireworks from our bed. Our view also included a beautiful sunrise. The style was what we would call upscale modern.
The staff was very polite and professional.
We were close walk to the Pier and many restraunts, as well as the beach.
The only downfall was the outside of the hotel was quite dated compared to surrounding buildings. Also there were several ice makers that weren't working.
Stayed in Lakeview room for Friday night with view of navy pier. View was great and location was a few blocks from Michigan Ave and navy pier. Club style music played in the lobby all day and was beautiful modern with a nice vibe. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, medium to firm. Checkout is noon. Our room was rather quiet, heater was quiet, only slight hall noise.
Room lacked basic amenities like a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. A few things in the room description were not accurate - no USB outlets or instant hot water. In room wifi or a safe is an extra fee. Bathroom sliding door leaves quite a gap and only 1 towel hook in a room for 4 adults. Hotel was renovated in 2014, lobby looks nice but rooms look a bit worn. A fitness gym was in room description but no mention of the pool. Would have loved to have brought a suit! Water felt warm and pool was clean and quiet.
Info is provided in room through a QR code and very mobile friendly, so don't expect much given at check-in as we were left a bit confused at times with lack of info. Things mentioned at check in such as hours, food options, amenities, etc weren't discussed so be sure to ask as staff were kind. We were directed to someone at the entrance to hold our bags, but no one was there and had to ask again to be shown to an unmarked door off to the right. Room was in the $230 range with a discount.
Overall the stay was good. Better communication, an accurate room description and a little TLC to the rooms would have made this a 5 star rating. 🌟
Lobby bar and food were great. The room view was spectacular, and the room was really nice. The only reason for the 1 minus star was that the room was tiered around the edges. This was a comment I heard from a few people I was traveling with also. However, I would definitely stay there again.
I give them 5 stars out of 5 for worst hotel ever!
It's like they slapped plaster on a crack and called it a "boutique" hotel. Nothing about this hotel I liked from the decor of the red lips in the rooms that screamed trafficking. Staff was nice and responsive to my safety concerns but gave me a food credit which was useless since the restaurant food was not good and I was ignored for 15 min and left. Manager couldn't figure out I probably needed a discount or refund for this experience, so now I write my reviews.
The quality control on the rooms was non existent. Door lock that is in the inner part of the door into room was installed over the door. So you cannot lock. The mattress was torn up. The new room they moved me also had numerous issues (it costs $2 for a zip for the tub and it overflowed). The mental vent was missing in the shower area. Friends in another room had similar issues. Concierge is a joke, there wasn't really concierge. The restaurant you actually have to physically go in and order you can't just call and then go and pick up the food, oh and I waited 15 min and finally left. NO MINI FRIDGE in rooms as well.
Great location with beautiful views of the water and city. The staff was overall friendly. The hotel could use a deep clean. The rooms were not cleaned well, and the bathroom had some mold growing. The shower was the absolute worst because the way way the shower was constructed, the water pools at your feet before draining. I recommend for location only.
Excellent staff and service even on a holiday weekend. Room was very comfortable and we had a view of navy pier. Restaurant and bar great too.
We enjoyed our stay here. Location is awesome with just a short walk to the beach into the Navy pier and Ferris wheel. We even walked around downtown as far as the field, museum and millennium park.
Only thing we didn’t like were the sliding bathroom doors that did not seal up the bathroom and lacked privacy.
The service was awesome. The bar area was business casual. The drinks were priced reasonable. The room was a view of the lake so that was a plus. Overall had a great time.
My daughter and I had a fantastic time at the W in Chicago. The room was stylish, comfy and quiet. The view of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier from our room was stunning. The location is safe and perfect for walking around to explore the city. The staff was very hospitable and we will definitely be back!
