Totally worth it! Food was great! The pancakes, bacon...the shrimp and grits...and the Korean chicken and waffles were all yummy. Oh my the grits were Soo creamy and yummy! The pancakes we're huge and reminded me of your grandma's pancakes with the crispy edges...and the bacon....oh Soo good! We can't wait to come back! Great job Inspiration Kitchens!
Inspiration kitchen is a great place to eat it's a great environment all of the food is wonderful and the staff is very professional enthusiastic and just generally nice I just love this place
So, i am a bit biased because they had been a client of mine a few years back and so i had a predisposed soft spot - such wonderful people. I finally got a chance to dine here and the food was wonderful, just as the service. We will be back!
Staff was amazing as was the food! Our group's fare: fried brussel sprouts, salad, basil lemonade, watermelon fresca, chicken & waffle, cauliflower po' boy, veggie quinoa burger. Fresh ingredients and a perfect walk-to lunch after visiting the Garfield Park Conservatory.
We ate Easter Brunch here and could not have been happier. The bisquits, the shrimp and grits benedict and the basil lemonade were dynamite. Friendly service and a great vibe too.
This was a unique dining experience. The menu was small but the food was excellent and the staff was very attentive.
wowza!
almost afraid to get started, because i'll be going on and on! just i keep it brief:
the waiter — knows her food! the food — yum! we ordered 3 plates and shared between the 3 of us, arguing which one is the favorite. all meals were strong contenders. and the cause, especially in Chicago! it was an honor to support people that stand for people that stand for people.
There is nothing bad about this place at all.
Cause, commitment, and excellence in food is no exception
I always go for the Shrimp and grits.
This has to be the Yummisest dish in the Chi hands down!
I would have Shrimp and grits three times a day if i could
The pulled pork / Po-boy is an excellent option as well.
Please support Inspiration kitchen you will not regret it!
Menu is amazing! I normally hate brussel sprouts but I could eat these everyday. The staff is caring and efficient ... I love everything about this place and go back as often as I can.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago. Hands down. The shrimp and grits are definitely signature. & the Chantilly cream will change your life. I go to the one on Lake street. #wessyde. Make a Sunday of it. Go to the restaurant, eat and stroll over to the conservatory. All the corner is missing is a record shop. Lol.

My entire family loves this place! Clean plates, great music, great location, great concept! And oh yeah, yummy food!!!!
Amazing food, small menu but great options and great service!
Went with our office foodie group and it was absolutely amazing! Every dish was phenomenally yummy. The attentiveness of everyone there was superb. Looking forward to going back again soon.
Truly a gem, great food and mission
I've been at several events catered by Inspiration Kitchen. Never disappointed. Both breakfast and lunch catering has been delicious!
Wonderful people, wonderful food, and a great organization too.
Inspired. I love businesses like this. These are the ones called out to use their model to directly and purposefully help people. The food is great too! I loved the large windows that opened out to the park across the street, the easy access and plenty of street parking. We had breakfast and everything was tasty and got to us quickly. The coffee was good. The service was top notch. Highly recommended.
We've been there 3x now, twice for dinner and once for breakfast. This place is a steal! With excellent service, an urban design and wonderful community ideals, enjoying the savory food makes you feel good all over. Try their pork chop and enjoy the great biscuits with cinnamon butter. You'll help the community and your stomach will love you for it!
Absolutely love Inspiration Kitchen and their mission for the community. The grits were so tasty and the flavors just mesh together so well. I also had the basil lemonade which was so fresh and earthy. Love is definitely in every meal.
HUGEEE amazing portions!!! The chicken was INSANELY good!! I almost didn’t want to post about this place that it could stay “hidden”. The boys voted it their fav Chicago pancakes!! Perfect place to eat brunch or lunch before going to the Conservatory. White cloth napkin, silverware and full service to your table!!! Substantially cheaper prices than most places we eat at! Amazing value!

Inspirations Kitchens is wonderful! Food is delicious and everyone we met on the staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely a new favorite for a chill weekend brunch.
Took a few tries to find the place, but so worth it when we did. (You want to turn into the parking lot off Lake.)
This little gem in the heart of the West Side is a pure treasure!!!! The sweet roll (not pictured) is a tasty treat to share & start brunch off with a nice cup of coffee. I had a the shrimp & grits served with a side of greens! Perfect. The grits were the perfect, cheesy consistency. The shrimp were firm and sizable. No complaints. My companion had the breakfast bowl. I didn’t try it but her plate was clean at the end of our brunch so it signified to me that she enjoyed her meal, as well. Directly across from Garfield Park, go give them a try! I will be back!
Place well lit minimal decor fresh tasty food, server Asha? was very pleasant/ attentive. They have a veg garden n free cooking program, you can buy a meal for a food pantry/ homeless
A pleasant dining experience along Lake Street near the Garfield Park Conservatory.
I visited on Mother's Day, so the menu was limited to the occasion (which is fine). I like the concept and the cause and the ambience is pretty good with nice decor. The space kind of reminds me a bit of a dining hall at a lodge. The food is pretty decent, though I can't say I liked the way the bacon was prepared (but that's more of a personal preference). Overall, nice place to drop by for brunch. PS: It's a BYOB/BYOW place!
Visited 3/30/19. They pay a living wage to folks overcoming homelessness and poverty, providing training and jobs. Great service, fantastic comfort food (biscuits and gravy were on point!), and an incredible mission. Couple this with a visit to the Garfield Park Conservatory and you’ve got yourself an amazing day on the West Side.
Really good food. Small portions.
Service was slow and a bit inexperienced but we understood the team was in training and learning.
AMAZING food and service! From the time I called my food in to the time I pulled into their gated parking lot. I ordered the chicken and waffle (appetizer, but decent amount)- syrup was mixed with some spicy that was delicious. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. He said it was the BEST he’s tasted. I also ordered the 2 egg entree and it was plentiful. The pancakes were great, as well. They will definitely be seeing this face again.
Absolutely phenomenal spot for brunch! The food delicious and perfectly priced, and the socially responsible aspect of Inspiration Kitchens made it ten times better. This will be our first choice for breakfast when we return to Chicago! I recommend the breakfast bowl - every aspect was just brilliant.
I had fried green tomatoes, it had a great presentation it lacked a little flavor but the pepper jelly and sauce put it over the top. I also has shrimp and grits now this dish looked great and tastes better more like perfect!!!! The hostes was A1 and I had great service. Things place is a hidden GEM!

Absolutely delicious food. The portions are large, so come hungry! All of the servers were very friendly and helpful.
The food was incredible and the mission is great, too. Truthfully, we went because the mission was cool, figured the food would at least be fine but we were blown away by how delicious everything we ordered was. Don’t miss this spot!
Food was wonderful, servers were friendly and helpful, and walking distance from the Garfield Park Conservatory. Started with brussel sprouts and fried green tomatoes. My friend had the shrimp and grits and I had the cauliflower steak with rice pilaf and whipped mash potatoes. We loved it all!
I have been to Inspiration Kitchen several times. I am NEVER disappointed with the service, attention to DETAIL and of course the FOOD. The Chefs are absolutely magnificent. The hours are SHORT post pandemic however. OUR COMMUNITY needs the services it provides to our community with employment, culinary education AND training. As a 66 year East Garfield Park Community Resident, I applaud INSPIRATION KITCHEN...Where I can DINE WELL and contribute to DOING GOOD.
Wow. Lovely place with a lovely mission. Strongly recommend to anyone in the area, especially those visiting the Conservatory!
The food was just as amazing as the service. Flavorful, diverse options. The interior is also beautifully minimal and artistic. Check out the mission on their website if you want to know more--truly an amazing and ethical establishment.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was superb! Everyone was very nice and friendly.
