Very cute small restaurant. There's only six tables in the place but it's definitely worth the wait. Food was outstanding! Love the fact that the orange juice was freshly squeezed when I ordered it.
Great spot in Lincoln Square. I am from the Netherlands, and can confirm that the pannenkoeken are as authentic as they come. The flavor variety is great and they have tons of American sides to accompany the pancakes, too.
The restaurant itself is quite small, only a handful of tables, and on the weekend, there’s usually a bit of a wait; you can leave your phone number and they give you a call once a table is available. Now with COVID we’ve used their carry out option a couple of times and it’s equally as good!
The place is really small but the wait wasn’t long. About 15-20 minutes. The food is worth it. We ordered the bacon & mushroom pannenkoeken, apple pannenkoeken with cinnamon gelato, and the 2 egg meal. Everything was delicious! I especially love their sausage
Went here to try something new and I just keep coming back! Breakfast is delicious and the Dutch pancakes are gigantic and A MUST HAVE! Love them. Very tasty. Staff is very friendly. Place is small so usually we have to wait to be seated but it’s worth it!
CLOSED ON TUESDAYS!!!
Fun place to go if you want to explore a different breakfast menu and experience. Note, this place is very good so it can take some time/luck to get a place in one of their seven tables.
It's cramped like everybody else has mentioned in previous reviews, but the freshly-made Dutch apple pancakes make it a worthy destination spot.....during the less hectic weekday. Although my selection was listed under the sweet section, the thinly sliced apples placed on top along with the whipped cream are NOT overly sweet, it's just right! Even their Dutch syrup is not too sweet, it's certainly not Aunt Jemima's. However, I can't imagine waiting outside for a table to open up in this teeny tiny restaurant of 6 (I think!) mini tables. Definitely not for families!
The food was delicious! We tried a Denver omelette and then an apple Dutch pancake and they were both really good. The service was also excellent. It is cash only!! $$
The food is great and the place is cozy. The staff are very friendly. It's a small place but packed with great food and prices. Definitely coming back. Really enjoyed my food.
Have not found anything quite like the pancakes I got back in Amsterdam until now. While they serve delicious American pancakes, their specialty is undoubtedly the pannenkoeken. My wife and I split both a sweet and savory selection. It was everything we'd heard and more. The coffee was also quite delicious, which is always a plus. Note that it is cash only, which we weren't aware of but there are a couple of ATMs nearby so no big. The restaurant itself is quite small so anticipate a wait at any time on the weekend, probably better during the week. All in all, one of the best and most atmospheric breakfasts I've had in Chicago.
We dined in on a Friday afternoon. There was no wait and we were the only people there for the first 15 minutes of our meal. I believe their current days of operation are only Friday through Sunday but they are open for dine in.
It's one of the cutest places I've eaten in Chicago, and they have genuine Dutch ingredients! This restaurant is about to hit 15 years in October and I can't believe as a lifelong chicagoan that I just found out about it. We will definitely come back.
Definitely adding it to one of my Chicago go-to brunch spots! Small establishment with only about 5 tables at max capacity, 3 during this limited seating time. The food came out in no time and was delicious!
This little Dutch pancake house has only seven tables, but it’s worth the wait. I know that they are known for their flat crepe like pancakes, but GET THE PANCAKES. They will be the richest, fluffiest pancakes you have ever had. I can’t explain the melt in your mouth phenomenon so you have to try it for yourself.
Great french toast! Really enjoyed my meal here, and would definitely recommend for someone looking for a tasty and cheap breakfast. Cash only but they let us know. Also not many tables inside.
Best pannekoeken in Chicago! Cash only. Very small place, expect to wait 30-60min for a table. Not good for large groups. There's literally three 4-tops and four 2-tops tables. I love the sausage, mushroom, and cheese pannekoeken, add egg. The stroop syrup is nice and molassesy, and much better than the regular syrup.
The best breakfast in Lincoln Square hands down. Extremely cozy and adorable. Cash only! Only about 6 tables so there is definitely going to be some type of wait depending on when you get there. Don't hesitate to take a stroll around the neighborhood though, the owners will ring your cell phone once table is ready!
We love this unique restaurant with only about 20 seats. Their Dutch breakfast menu is full of extremely tasty dishes. My wife loves their banana-chocolate pancake, but I prefer their apple & orange marmalade one. The pancakes are thin like crepes and sweet and spill over the edges of the plates, while the toppings are excellent. The coffee is very good, and the service is wonderful.
Really small place with very tasty food. Service was nice and efficient. We shared our meals to get a taste of several things.
Buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The Apple and Dutch cinnamon pancakes were really good too.
Groups of more than 4 or 5 I would not recommend, but small groups I really recommend.
One of my favorite places of all time! I've never had a bad meal here. Super long wait usually, especially if there is more than two people eating. Not the best for big groups. Very small sitting area. So worth it though.
Food was good and tasty. The place is small as can be. There are 8 small tables for 2 people each. Really close to each other.coffee was good too. Fresh orange juice was a nice touch
