Oh! This is an Incredible bistro, coffee shop experience with the indoor and outdoor seating options, conveniently located on the corner of S. Indiana and 18th St, fresh made food locally sourced, beer on tap, breakfast all day, delicious food options that accommodate sensitive dietary needs, did I mention the vibe? Sit outside in the garden patio under the trees or shade umbrellas or inside at the bar seating or table nooks. Designed for singles, duos, and groups. Kids and dogs friendly. Down home and hip. Order it, they deliver it to you. Nice staff. Favorite food choices I discovered: Oatmeal to die for, yah, I know, it seems a little exaggerated, but really really good, creamy, topped with fresh cut strawberries and apples, cooked in apple juice (it seems) AND, wait for it...candied pecans! The BLT on Texas Toast with delicious thick cut smoked bacon and fresh tomato...that's looking good before the first bite ,-), then deliciousness of lightly crusted toast taste and the punch of bacon with the smooth tomato unleash flavor on you. Coffee? They make those cute patterns in the foam of your latte, you know. Smiles all around by the staff, who seem to really care about what they are doing. Watch the chef prep your food for breakfast (ALL DAY!, yes!) or lunch and see the care they put into creating tasty omelettes with fresh mushrooms and grated cheese. Wait, the grits! They got grits like I've never seen before...I think they cooked them up with a red root vegetable, thick, creamy, and topped with a fresh grated cheese. I'm tellin' you...I'm thinking of moving into this neighborhood just so I can eat here more often and enjoy the atmosphere. Hey Parents, you know, there's a child care center right next door, if you need to make a choice for where to put your kids, then you can treat yourself to something delicious before driving off to work, or not, just stay and skip work. The menu is worth exploring every item and special all day long. Go. Go eat. Go enjoy.

I love this place, and love that the Prairie District finally has a great little cafe to hang out at. The food is great, the lattes are amazing, and the indoor space and the beautiful outdoor terrace are both wonderful places to be.

I am was visiting Chicago for a few days and staying at the Marriot Marquis. This was the PERFECT place. It was walking distance from the hotel and a super cute outdoor patio with fall trees, families, a few people working and some young adults like myself. I brought my computer and a book and I wish I could have stayed here the whole day. I got a latte with an extra shot (they only do 2 shots at a time so they had to charge me for 4 shots total thought I only wanted 3) and the most amazing almond croissant I’ve ever had. The coffee was okay but the croissant was 100/10.

Lovely cafe and coffee shop with unique and delicious menu. The soup and grilled cheese are great! They have amazing seasonal drinks and seating indoors and outdoors. There is WiFi, a decent amount of outlets and their selection of music in the cafe is eclectic and a mix at a volume loud of enough to enjoy but not be distracting. And the area around the cafe is gorgeous, walkable, and inviting.

Perfect spot to go for a grab and go breakfast and coffee or a sit down. The coffee was delicious, one of the best pumpkin lattes I’ve ever had. The bakery included a few vegan options, and the outdoor patio was spacious and welcoming. Very friendly atmosphere and staff.

Delicious food at a local eatery. There is a longer than normal wait due to popularity, but we received our food faster than they estimated. The food was fresh & delish. The outdoor seating is charming. The indoor seating has a trendy, chill cafe vibe. There are outlets unobtrusively placed around the indoor seating for charging laptops or phones for a working brunch. We would eat here again. You can order from your phone or the pass thru window.

Favorite brunch spot with my mom! They have an indoor and outdoor seating area. When outdoor seating is open its great for those summer days, plus everyone brings their dogs! Indoor seating has a very nice atmosphere, and the water/utensils station is very convenient.

I love that they have outdoor seatings in the summer. You can grab your own table and order with the barcode. Quick and easy! My favorites here are the mushroom sandwich and their prairie fog. Dogs friendly as well.

My experience at Spoke & Bird Cafe was refreshing after poor culinary experiences elsewhere recently. The cafe was set on a corner and had large open windows facing both streets. The ambience was appropriate for the experience, defined by modern, but relaxed finishes and decor. The menu was appropriately sized for the business model with diverse options, but not so many that the guest is overwhelmed or service is bogged down. Breakfast options are served until 5 pm, but they also have lunch/dinner options. I would suggest they add another option or two for sides - perhaps of the house-made variety. The service is friendly and casual, but again, appropriate for the model. You can order at the counter or have a seat and order by QR code (though the latter option wasn't obvious until I sat down). I ordered the smash burger with chips and a Mexican coke. The smash burger was perfect - fresh ingredients, an incredibly tasty and unique sauce, and prepared well. The chips were not made in house, but completed the meal. They have a variety of beverage options including beer, wine, and coffee/espresso beverages - including coffee based "cocktails." I finished my experience with a sun-dried, light roast, Ethiopian coffee from Counter Culture that was quite pleasant. As an afterthought, the owner or manager doesn't take criticism well as is evident in his replies to reviews on this platform. I find professionalism to be lacking in that vein, but have not let that affect the review of my experience.

Perfect spot for a quick bite or to hang out (both indoor and outdoor spaces). The breakfast sandwich and the mushroom melt are really good. Plus, you get to see all the cute doggos so you get 'puppy therapy' 😍🐕

It's always been on my too do list. I'm glad I came. I don't regret it. Good food and friendly vibes. Everyone was sitting outside on the patio....so I don't know if the inside is only open on certain days and hours.

Super chill breakfast spot. Great music and street views. Had the Challah French Toast and Banana Bread Latte, and it was amazing. Ordering is accomplished on your phone, so there's not a lot of interaction with staff... but they were very nice and aware of the orders.

After dining predominantly within my hotel while on a business trip, I am SO GLAD I ventured a longer walk to Spoke & Bird this morning. The challah french toast was superb and seeing the local families with their dogs in the patio was a welcome reminder of home. Highly recommend!

The neighborhood around a convention center can be a real food dead zone, so this place was a life saver ! I came here three times in 48 hours!! Great artisanal selection of coffee and beer, and a nice lunch menu. Cute spot and very friendly staff

What a fantastic experience. Great people and delicious food. The dining area has a great view of the street activity. Variety of seating options that well accommodate studying, breakfast with a close friend, or a larger engagement or meeting. The decor is interesting and has a youthful vibrant allure. Greatly enjoyed my time there. Cheers.
