Don Juan's is always a pleasant experience. From the food to the drinks. Everything is nothing but the best. The margarita pitcher on Thursday is one of the best drinking deals in the neighborhood. My personal favorite is the burrito suizo. Will definitely reccomend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience
At first glance you see a Mexican eatery an wonder, is this worth the time? So quaint, the manager takes care of the guests personally, dressed to the nines, The food permeated the room enticing me back for a late dinner, I will be frequenting this spot an you should too!
We've been four times now and our favorite is their mole sauce. Incredible and spicy. The salsa they bring with the chips is so good I asked them to use that on my enchiladas once. Once you walk in they were very attentive. They take reservations which may be a good idea if you come at dinner time. They have a really good bar where you can wait for the rest of your party and enjoy a drink after your.meal while wwatching a game. We'll be back.
Don Juan's is a great place to have dinner or watch the game in the bar. The food is excellent, service is superb and the owners are very nice people. Be sure to try the Don Juan Burger, it's the best in town!

Awesome margaritas and an excellent carne asada and steak tacos.
I've eaten here since they were a walk up takeout stand. Still love the tacos but recently fell in love with the Chipotle sliders
Excellent food. Guacamole, tacos, fajitas and the caramelized banana split were our choices and they were all superb. Maria and Jake are WONDERFUL hosts. Highly recommended!

Family favorite! Menu changes every so often and I love that, variety is good! Jake and his family and great friends with my family so it's always good service and a good time.
Came into the bar starving, unfortunately the kitchen was closed. The owner did not hesitate to head back to the kitchen and make me whatever he could throw together. I ended up having the ceveche and a big plate of guacamole. So amazing.
I cannot count all the restaurants across the nation where I have ordered Fish Tacos, it is embarrassingly a large number. The number one Fish Taco on my list is from Don Juan's! Their sauce, combination of flavors and accompanying salad creates an entree that is at the top of my list. Can't wait to go there again!

Don Juan's Restaurante is not your typical Mexican restaurant as they use fresh and seasonally available ingredients in their food. The beef enchiladas with the verde sauce were very good, complete with a slightly spicy taste to the sauce. The chips and salsa were both fresh and tasty, but the flan was a nice - and tasty - surprise at the end of the meal. The service was fine, the atmosphere was laid back, and my experience at Don Juan's told me that I will be back at some point. There's just too many interesting things on their menu to just got there one time and get the full Don Juan's experience.
The owner Maria always welcomes guests with a warm smile and makes sure your experience has been pleasant. If you are looking for quality taqueria food, it's here. If you are looking for something a little more sophisticated, they also offer those dishes as well. Excellent food with a seasonal menu!
Great food, marg's and prices. Don Juan's has it all when it comes to quality food, great margaritas and an affordable bill at the end. Our particular favorites are the distinctive salsa served with warm chips, the guacamole and the steak tacos.
If you want some variety you can find just about any seafood dish you could think of.
The margaritas are rare because they are drinkable and you can actually have more than one without blowing your head off like the new rage of mexican restaurants seem to like to do.
At the end...you can actually pay the bill without a home equity loan. We will be back...you should be there!
A fun evening of good drinks, great food and friendly welcome. It was lovely meeting the owner Maria, she was so sweet to talk to us and we could see how she had been successful all these years. Looking forward to returning!
We did not have a reservation but were seated at the bar. Drinks and food were great. Had the bacon wrapped shrimp and the jalapeno popper appetizer with chorizo. Both were delicious.
Our server was warm and friendly, even though she was busy.
We will definitely be back.
Very nice neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Lots of regulars and a cozy feel, but a little louder and vivacious than similar restaurants as a result. We took in the MSU v Butler college hoops game on the large screen above the bar, and my partner sampled a custom beer on tap that had the slightest hint of lime in the flavoring. The food was delicious, but not exactly distinctive. The chips and spicy mole salsa that they served as we sat down: priceless.
The staff is super friendly, food is amazing! Their carne assada old school and chocolate creme brûlée are incredible! Margaritas during happy hour are only $7 (fridays 3-5pm), highly recommend
The owner came up to us and asked if we had been there before. We told her it was our first time, and we were heading to Ohio. We told her it was rated high, and that’s why we stopped. Boy, we were not disappointed! The margaritas were perfect, and I am very picky about margaritas, as well as the food. Would definitely go back there. My picky husband actually like the mole’ con pollo!
Came across this place our first year being here. So nice and the people are so cool. I love the food and atmosphere. You must try this gem of a place. Best Park ridge of Best Mexican restaurant for 2023.
Some solid Mexican food and very friendly staff. Got the deep fried burrito and a stone brewing Mexican lager while we watched the Nuggets beat the Heat! Fun atmosphere!
Lovely lil fun place for lunch! The atmosphere takes the edge off from a stressful morning. 😁 Not your "typical" salsa...it's a good change up! The salad was huge!!! And the Camarones De Coco has a sweet heat to it! The heat comes afterward; but it's divine!

The owners Jake and Mike accepted me into their restaurant with open arms as Marco gave me one of the most refreshing strawberry mojitos I've ever had(and I get them alot). This location was created after Jake's mom's(Maria) originalr restaurant shut down. She created an absolutely stunning menu and this location has my heart. They let me sit at the bar and indulged me with their hospitality.
Highly recommend this place for cocktails or for an authentic Mexican meal. 5 stars during their hospitable lunch hour that had me wanting to come back for more.
My bacon wrapped shrimp was awesome and it came with a salad that was delicious also. The mango margarita was very tasty. Service was right on point. will be back!

¡Me encanta Don Juans! This is an excellent Mexican restaurant in the Edison Park neighborhood. Look for the corner Don Juans sign that always has a humorous saying posted on it! See my included photos.
They have a large menu of delicious dishes. My favorite entree to order is the enchiladas suisas. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate that they do not use lard in their beans. They only use lard in one or two specific dishes -- and this is duly noted on the menu. You can also order takeout food to go.
There is a full bar here, and you can get domestic and imported beer, wine, etc with your meal. Sometimes they have live bands playing in the bar. I've listened to some great musicians here.
The owner of the restaurant is very nice and approachable, often greeting diners upon entering the restaurant. She is friendly and helpful for any questions you might have.

After frequently dining here, I can say this place is the best Mexican restaurant in the area by far. You'll first notice it when you receive warm, crispy chips and can request several homemade salsa options. (The habanero one is killer!) The margaritas are also very rich and will really knock you on your you-know-what. Friendly staff and owners will ask you how your day/food is and attend to your needs without hesitation. Maria and Marco are a pleasure to deal with!
Always fresh and delicious food with a plentiful menu. You can tell the quality of their ingredients is much higher and they don't cut corners like nearby restaurants started doing during these times. It's also squeaky clean inside and the bathroom is very nice.

I had dined at the Edison Park location years ago. This was my first time today at the location in Park Ridge. The service, food was excellent. Top notch, I highly recommend!
Carne Asada was absolutely fantastic. My wife literally took a bite and said “you have to write a review about this” fun atmosphere, great staff - you can’t go wrong coming here whether it be for date night or for after work drinks

Overall good food and service. I only tried the tacos, as well as the rest of my party. Will review again after my next visit.
