In one of the more affluent areas, this seemingly always hip yet formal staple has done nothing but provide me with some of my most favorable service I received at a restaurant, I still remember the first time I visited some years ago.
The menu is the definition of modernization, but wallet conscious, with menu items scaling from around $20 up into the low triple digits.
They were approached to how they handle cheese on pizza. Machine lack luster, especially given how it appears in photography but make no mistake. Those flakes of cheese have more flavor than traditional mozzarella. So were they to overcoat the pizza, which I'm still tempted to actually order one day, the flavor would be overbearing. Like putting in too much salt or sugar or something you love to eat.
There is a wine selection, including #Postmalone 's new Rosé however rhe happy hour drink menu although cheaper is no slouch.
The water 💧 is even "fancy" as they refuse to serve tap and give it to you iced in an aluminum bucket, easily mistaken for a clear liquor on your table.
I recommend their shrimp pizza, mild vsrsion.
Cons:
Outdoor seating area has no screen, so bugs can fly in and out due to them not utilizing something as basic as the equivalent of clear shower curtains to still feel like you're outside but also have protection from bees or harsh sunlight seemed a little unusual.
Although I was splitting the entire Post Malone bottle of wine, the waiter forgot to send it to us. However, we weren't charged for it, so we'll chalk this up to a simple mistake, we still left a tip though🫡
In closing as far as eatery locations with an upscale yet down to Earth pricing feel in the city, Earl's is second to none.
There are a few menus where you can see ramen, hamburger, a $100 steak meal, as well as cheap bottles of wine and not feel like you're at a national chain filled with families, this is a definite date night or hang with the homies after spending all day recreationally in the area, they true have mastered general appeal, would HIGHLY reccomend a visit.
Fun upscale decor with knowledgeable staff who all work together well to make your dining experience enjoyable. Accommodating to food allergies and several vegetarian options. Entrees all had a fun twist & tasted good too. Highly recommend the buffalo cauliflower to share. Went on a Sunday night, reserved a table but it wasn’t necessary.
Decor was nice. Fancy yet casual feel. Waitress was friendly but seemed like she was in a rush but could just have been her personality as she was more friendlier later in the evening. A friend and I went for restaurant week and were impressed by the food. The Cajun chicken was amazing. It was a big meal and all the flavors were there. Chicken was cooked well. The drinks were good. I especially liked the coconut mint margarita and the Tokyo cosmo. Would come again to try the regular menu
10/10 decor, atmosphere, friendly waiter. The manager was very nice as well. The Buffalo califlower was good, could use more sauce (ask for it on the side as needed). The chicken sandwich was a close one. It's flavor was on point, but the chicken was overcooked so it got very stringy, & chewy. Salad was slightly sweeter, which I'm not used to, and the truffle fries were good, but i didn't taste much of a difference from regular fries. I would definitely visit again. I would recommend this place, it's a little pricey but worth the experience.
Been here twice for brunch and dinner and loved both experiences. Got chicken and waffles for brunch and it was surprisingly good, chicken was tender and the portions are just right. Came here again for dinner and got their late night menu, what a great deal! We got truffle fries, drinks, raw oysters and sushi tacos - all so good! Joseph our bartender gave great recommendations and was amazing. Good playlist was a plus! Would recommend!
Our waitress Victoria was truly out of this world. She was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, and she went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. She had a genuine warmth and a great sense of humor that really added to our evening. Her service was a major highlight of our visit. We will definitely be back and hope to be served by her again. Thank you for making our meal so memorable Victoria!
This place is lovely!! Everyone at my table of 6 gave their food a 10/10. We got the Buffalo cauliflower to start (highly recommend) and the spinach cheese dip which was also delicious. Pictured also is the teriyaki tofu bowl. We had a vegetarian and gluten free at the table and there were great options on the menu for both. Our waitress (Holly?) was very attentive and gave fab service. We will def be coming back :)
I believe our waiters name was jake. He was so delightful. My sister and i came for dinner we had the chipotle calamari, and she had the steak and sushi and i had the steak tenderloin. The food was so outstanding! The environment is beautiful and calming. Loved this restaurant i will totally be back for more!
In town for the weekend for a friend's bachelor party. Sometimes the universe just provides you with something awesome. Earls was otw to our last thing on the itinerary for the weekend so we stopped in for brunch and what an incredible experience. Even with a party of 9 they were super helpful getting some tables together for us and getting us seated. Everyone was friendly but the undisputed star of the show was our waiter Judah. I don't know if I've ever had a server who was more friendly and helpful and just an overall good time. The brunch happy hour, the mimosas, and the food were all phenomenal but what really set the experience apart was our service. The only thing I would recommend more highly than having brunch at Earls would be asking for Judah as your server! Will certainly be back my next time in Chicago!
Beautiful restaurant! The atmosphere was really nice and the staff was friendly as well! The service was a bit slow though and the meal was a bit more pricey than I would have paid based on the quality. The wine list is fairly extensive though! Overall, a great experience.
When we arrived for lunch, the restaurant was nearly empty (a group was outside, and two other tables were inside), but we were told it would be 10-15 minutes until we would be seated. That was quite surprising and we soon realized they were severely understaffed.
We were able to sit down quickly (I was on crutches) and get water, our food took some more time. The restaurant got crowded soon after we arrived.
The mother earth bowl was huge, fresh and filling. The broccoli pesto was a great addition and I highly recommend
The sticky toffee chocolate pudding is not actually pudding and tastes like a mouse chocolate cake and we loved it!
One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! Excellent mushroom and kale on some chewy thin crust. Highly recommended! That said, service was a bit slow even though the place was less than half full. Everyone was very welcoming, however.
This was our last place to eat for a friend's bachelor party. We had an absolutely wonderful experience here. We came here for brunch and the food was excellent and prices were very fair. The staff provided excellent service and were especially accommodating for our party of 9. Make sure to order a dish with their potato pave
