Amazing from start to finish. We had a large family gathering. Anthony and the staff were so welcoming and attentive. I loved the decor and the space. Can't wait for the patio doors to open. The food was top notch. We had a few appetizers (all great) but the cheese curds won a 100% approval. Crazy light and tasty. We mixed up pizzas and sandwiches for our meal and enjoyed every bite. Generous portions so we had plenty for lunch the next day. Can't wait to go back.
Great venue with a nice atmosphere. Loved the food especially the pizza. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
Visited twice in one day, had wings for lunch and pizza for dinner. Both were mind-blowing! Great selection of beers and waitstaff could not have been better! 11/10 yelp review, would recommend.
excellent, best pizza in Chicago. the menu the drinks the design of the place congrats family.
Truly delicious food in every category on the menu. The staff and atmosphere are so welcoming and every aspect of this place is so well-thought out! An exciting addition to River North
Best pizza I’ve ever had! The crust it’s not doughie at all! It’s very airy...Very polite staff...
Between the Italian beer and truly authentic pizza, I felt like I was in Rome. Well, Rome but with a really cool River North vibe. Definitely worth checking out.
Had an excellent meal last night! The salads and pizza were out of this world. Can't wait to go back and try a sandwich or burger... YUM!!!
Great Vibe, Music is on point and place is amazing especially the service too.
Absolutely amazing! The best crust hands down in the city and generous portions and toppings. Well done guys!
Even if you've tried all the incredible pizza Chicago has to offer, you've GOT to try this pizza.... it's mind blowing and an experience you'll never forget!
What an amazing lunch today. Logan is a wonderful server! The Italian style hummus is delish! Can’t wait to come back again!

Great drinks and service from bartender.. I cant remember his name but he was working sunday night 6•3•18..Great personality!! Already had pizza earlier in the day I was only there for a drink but after being told an Italian chef flew from Italy to Chicago to train the cooks im definetly coming back to try the pizza and more.
The pizza is crispy and tender. I loved the frito misto, too. Bringing some friends there today so I can try some more stuff on the menu.
Great food, great beer, great price!! What’s not to love!
For starters we ordered the wings, coccoli, the pear & arugula salad and the cheese board, all which were very good. If you like spicy , for sure order the wings! Then we order a small pizza half sausage/mushroom and half margarita. The ingredients were very fresh and loved the crunch of the pizza. The dj was also very entertaining. We all will be back!
Delicious food and Pizza! Excellent and friendly service and the place is very confortable and clean.
Great food. Nice change of pace as far as atmosphere. Service could use slight tightening but give it a pass since it’s new.
First night in Chicago and this pizza is delicious ! Definitely come here to try great Roman style Chicago pizza. This is right up the street from the Best Western Hotel in River North and that's where I was staying but this place is good enough to travel to . Excellent pizza. We're from New York and we're tough pizza critics. Since it was my first time here I wanted to try Chicago pizza. And I know Chicago is mostly known for deep dish but those places looked like tourist traps . This place is very chill with really nice staff and sports on the TV if you like that. The Cargo Rita margarita.was delicious. The Italian Job drink is STRONG and has bourbon in it . Calamari was fresh and not an afterthought. Tasty. Pretty in Pink drink has vodka and strawberry puree, very tasty with mint . But the pizza is the star . Airy crust , flavorful and two people can share a small and probably still take a couple slices back to the Hotel. Got a half Fun Guy truffle sauce and mushrooms and half margherita style pizza (you can split the flavor) Waitress was really nice. I would come back.
I love Bar cargo! They have a few dishes which I would stir away from, however, the ones I enjoy are delicious. Pizza you have to try the CBT and hummus! So good! There was nothing memorable of the service and the watermelon margarita with Tito’s was not my cup of tea.
First time here and got The Chicago pizza, it was so delicious!! The mozzarella cheese was my favorite part!! The marinara was also very tasty. This was a small pizza and fed two people and leftovers. Enjoyed the atmosphere and can’t wait to bring friends here!!
Love the pizza here, seriously to die for. Alright happy hour deals as well. It can get a bit noisy though, sort of a club/younger vibe. Sorta wish they offered more of an actual restaraunt dining experience, though it does have 'bar' in the name.
CBT pizza probably the best pizza I have ever had. Get the truffle oil on it.
Nice little upscale sport bar with great pizza! We got the spicy pepperoni which wasn’t spicy but tasted really fresh and I definitely enjoyed it. The staff was friendly but not the most attentive even though it wasn’t too busy. The atmosphere and overall experience was great though!
Great wings. The pizza base was delicious and the spicy pepperoni was fantastic. Giving this just a 4 as they were serving drinks in single use plastic cups which just seems wasteful. When we asked for a glass they did give us one, but the original drink had already been poured in plastic.
Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience. The place has a lot of outdoor seating and the atmosphere is loud and vibrant. The pizzas are very good and the smalls are enough to feed 3-4 people each, especially if you get some appetizers. Good drink selection to compliment the pizza, as well. The service was a bit slow, but the food and the location are very good.
Awesome spot to grab a table with a group or a bar seat with a friend and have a cold bev and hot pizza. Lots of TVs to catch a game. Really enjoyed the pepperoni and sausage pizza, the pepperoni has a bit of a spicy kick. And the crust is so good
My friend and I sat in the patio and really enjoyed the Chicago Pizza with a glass of IPA as well. The crust was phenomenal and the pizza was overall very filling. This is the perfect place if you're looking to have great pizza. The service was great as well and loved the general atmosphere. Plus they had a killer playlist! I plan on coming back to try their white sauce pizzas.
If you are familiar with pizza al taglio, then you will be pleasantly surprised with Bar Cargo's pizza. Their light and crunchy crust and Italian inspired ingredients stay true to their Roman roots. The restaurants happy hour is also exciting, with great prices and a solid selection. I have not much else on their menu, as it feels wrong to miss out on such a good pizza!
The atmosphere here was great! You get a nice vibe while in the city. The food was good. The pizza had a good flavor and was crispy. The pepperoni is a tad spicy but not overbearing. The drinks are nice and strong. Overall my visit was enjoyable.
Overall: Bar Cargo provides a unique crust loaded with toppings to leave a good impression for any pizza lover.
The good: The crust is crisp, airy and yet somehow still doughy, which makes for a great base for the loads of toppings that are piled on. The different red and white sauce bases we got were covered to the corners in bacon, ham, and cheeses. The portion sizes are huge, we 2 pizzas for 3 people and we left with plenty of leftovers. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is bar-centric but still comfortable.
The not-so-good: The pizzas were a tad too greasy for my liking, one of those situations where if you put napkins on it, they'd be drenched. The pizzas took a bit to come out too, even though we were one of a few tables. And, it just didn't have the "wow" factor that other pizza places do.
Atmosphere: 8/10
Service: 8/10
Food: 8/10
After the Chicago River cruise, and at least 5 miles of walking around the Downtown area, I needed to feed the beast! I compared Bar Cargo to other pizzeria establishments in the area, and it scored highly. The location is perfect. Right in the shadow of the Willis Tower (Which has always been on my bucket list of places to go in the Midwest). The staff was friendly, and very accommodating. I loved their outdoor option of sidewalk dining, and overall open air environment. The pizza was excellent! I highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the mood for pizza, and a drink.
I love this place 🥰 Definitely check out their happy hour between 4-6 (they open at 4) for $5 cocktails made with Tito’s ☺️ The service is quick, and the servers were very friendly. The service alone has made me a frequent customer, so I definitely recommend.
Had fantastic SERVICE and FOOD. Our server was Isabella and she was quick to provide new drinks and was kind enough to bring the salad out before the pizza and time the pizza with our pace. 10/10 she was attentive and fun.
Caesar salad was delicious - chicken cooked perfectly. The pizza is like rustic Italian bread with sauce and cheese (chefs kiss). It was a great place to start some Friday fun with friends.
Bar Cargo is interesting. As soon as you walk in, the bars structure is made from a shipping container, as is the kitchen. Hence Bar 'Cargo'. Open windows into Wells St. A patio out the back. Fun colors.
The owners use a lot of Italian sourced ingredients. They're great.
The lightest pizza base you will ever taste. I have never tasted a base as light......even in Rome.
The medium sized pizzas are easily big enough for 2. I didn't see a large sized pizza, but our server said it's 2x the size of the medium pizza. Simple flavorful ingredients. You can do 2 different pizza types on 1 pizza. A great way to try the different flavors.
Food is good. Small size pizza is good enough for 3 people or even 4. Tried veggie wrap. Was really good. Good location and courteous staff.
This place was a big surprise. Looks like many other places on the outside but has this fantastic indoor outdoor area in the back. The pizza crust was perfectly light and airy.
The only very weird and ridiculous thing was that while they demonstrated a much welcomed acceptance of technology by having only QR codes in place of menus, they weren't consistent by also assuming you will use Google pay (or other) but instead walked away with my card...the kind of thing that people in other countries rightly ridicule.
