Ester was our waitress... Amazing!!!! Had the market fresh fish, it was a red grouper... Amazing!!!! Manager super nice!!!! We can't afford it all the time, but it's definitely gonna be our special occasion spot! It was worth every penny!!!!!!

Great Bartender the Sunday morning I went with my two girlfriends. She was quick with our drinks and very attentive. Food was awesome. Great music selection. I will be returning !

Went for brunch w/ my favorite delicious but the only thing I didn't like was the fact I couldn't get the Mamosa's w/ the $30 a lil disappointed but oh well I ate good and enjoyed the atmosphere

Food is decent bar standard fare. Good selection between healthy and classic comfort food. Service was good overall, server seemed a bit overwhelmed but still managed well enough. Cool layout, lots of screens, nice center bar.

So we decided to stop at this place for a bite to eat and a drink since it is a rainy Sunday. It has a nice set up and even a upstairs with what look like a outdoor area. We had the boneless wings with the habanero BBQ sauce on them and they were amazing. We also had the quesadilla that was a little spicy as well and was amazing. We will go back and try more soon
Awesome food, drinks & fantastic service! Fun place to go for a game or any day it seems! The chicken & waffles were delicious and the nachos were so filling & yummy! Love it!!!
Stumbled upon this restaurant when we could not get a table somewhere else. Turned out to be a great choice. We easily got a table upstairs so we could see multiple tv screens and people watch. I had the Barbacoa Bowl with a Raspberry Margarita which hit the spot. Will drop in again when in the area. Service was good.
I really love Benchmark, it is my top bar choice if I am in Old Town. Very modern layout with 2 bars, one on the top level on one on the floor level. If you are looking for a bar in Old Town I recommend giving it a peek.

🦬 Buffalo wraps were mouth-watering and crispy! I highly recommend trying them if you like a bit of spice!

We went to benchmark every Thursday after volleyball. Had a lot of servers but Mauve was our favorite. She was our server for the end of the year party and it was packed and she still gave us phenomenal service.
Pretty nice spot to go out with friends for a beer.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Would suggest for a weekend night with friends, they have a DJ and the atmosphere is very good.
Mostly a younger crowd.
I moved to Chicago about two years ago now and have always gotten recommendations to go into Old Town and I have checked out a few bars in the area with my friends but my favorite is Benchmark! It has an upstairs with a ceiling that opens up on a nice summer day and with friendly bartenders and servers. The food is amazing I love the nachos and when going out with my friends we share a GIANT mule bowl definitely worth the price! Later at night they move the chairs and tables to give it more of a bar feeling, Benchmark is definitely a spot to go to in Old Town!
Original review: The bartenders will change the prices of drinks based on who they’re serving. One vodka soda was $15- insane. When I brought it up to another bartender, she said I was overcharged but made a big deal out of refunding me $2.
Edit: received a super professional response and explanation from Mike regarding my experience and I'm sure it was a fluke. I will definitely be giving Benchmark another shot if I am in the area again.

Overall good experience with this place. Food was delicious definitely will be back for that alone! The only problem I had was with the hostess. We had missed our reservation due to car troubles and they will not seat you unless your whole group is present. When we all finally got there she said they didnt have a reservation for us and that if you miss your reservation it will just go away. We tried calling several times to let them know that we were coming, but there was no answer. We asked if they would still be able to seat us and they checked and they could. The hostess walked us upstairs into a far back corner and then just gestured her hand to the corner area. There were 3 tables that were open so we figured it was just fair game. Then she she came back and told us we were supposed to sit at this very small table with a couch and 3 pillows on the floor. There was NO WAY 7 people could eat comfortably there. Plus we were there for a bachelorette party and most of us were in dresses and heels. We were not about to sit on a pillow on the floor. The manager eventually came over and was able to get us at a table where we could all sit together. Our waitress was really nice but she forgot a few drinks and we didnt see her much. The food was really food and most the staff was nice!
Went in for brunch and had the chicken and waffles. Really light, crispy and the habanero syrup wasn’t overwhelming. I really did like that the syrup wasn’t extremely thick and sweet. That’s the problem with some of the other chicken and waffles I’ve had. Balance your flavors / textures!!
No but seriously really good service and food. Make sure you let them know ahead of time for splitting the bill with larger groups (as you should with most places).
