My teenager and I got to enjoy Dim Sum at this restaurant. They were out of just one of the dishes we wanted. Everything else was amazing. We were served and serviced quickly, as well as given space for conversion. We used a "back door" to enter, it was awesome!

Everything that we ordered was delicious! This is the best location for Dim Sum in Chicago and I plan on visiting again very soon! Imperial Restaurant is in a convenient location in the Chinatown square plaza and there is lots to do in the area. Parking right across the street is convenient. We did not have to wait long at all for a seat during my visit. The shrimp crepe, steamed BBQ pork bun (my favorite), dumplings, and the Xiao Long Bao were amazing and a must! They are very generous in the stuffing of each dish. I hope to see this location soon!

Been here a couple of times, I would say this is one of the good dimsum places in chinatown. Haven’t tried much of their non-dimsum menu, but we did try the honey glazed bbq pork and it was good. They always seem to be out of the crispy roasted pork belly 😞 But service is quick, price is reasonable, food tastes good, usually pretty filled with people, would definitely recommend!

Great place for dim sum in Chicago Chinatown. They are many selections of dim sum to choose from. When they are served, the dim sum are fresh. Highly recommended if you are a dim sum fan. The only feedback for improvement is perhaps cut some of the dim sum into half for example, the turnip cake or fried taro or steamed rice noodle roll and etc so that it can be shared accordingly.

Best dim sum in Midwest. The portion was large and the price was reasonable. You can be reassured of their authenticity as all waiters speak Cantonese.

They don't have the best ambience or service, but it doesn't matter, because the food is AWESOME and the price is right! We came on a Monday afternoon and it was not crowded and service was fast. We ordered and had Dim Sum only. Food: 5/5 - All of the Dim Sum we ate were really great! The porridge, SiuMai, and BBQ pork pastry were the standouts! Each of these three dishes were well made, huge and delicious! The Pork pastry was much larger than I anticipated and the filling are generous too, though the edges had a bit too much flour. Another standout here is the BEEF TENDONS! This is not found elsewhere and it is one of our family's favorite dishes! Presentation: 3/5. Food is not as polished but as long as they taste good I don't mind. Ambience: 3/5. This is a typical Asian restaurant experience, dark and a little aged, but clean nonetheless. Price: 5/5! Very competitively priced but does not sacrifice quality Conclusion, this will be our go to place to have Dim Sum in the future! Sure, MingHin is still the king of DimSum and has a better restaurant ambience and service. But Cai is not far off and lighter on the wallet!

First visit: Good food, slower service. Second visit: very good food and much better service. This time we went during busy hours. Third time (busy), golden corn n shrimp dumpling was the best! Don't get pan fried stuffed veg bean curd. Everything else was fine.

This restaurant is located in the main mall in Chinatown. Most restaurants have re-opened with some small restrictions. Chinatown was full of tourists, but when we visited we were the only people there and they have about 40 tables. It was clean and nice with a traditional Chinese setup. However, we we're delightfully surprised, because the food came out fast and fresh, and was delicious 😋! I love dim sum so I may be partial but the presentation and taste was excellent. All the dumplings had different varieties of ingredients from chives and pork to spicy peanut shrimp with fish roe! My favorite will always be potstickers though! They are on the second level it can be easy to miss the entrance!

My go-to dim sum place in Chinatown. The waits are better than Ming Hin and they serve soup dumplings and salted egg yolk custard buns. The food comes out quickly though you may need to be aggressive in flagging down a waiter if you need water, utensils, etc. Come hungry!

A favorite place for my extended family. We came for lunch and it was packed! We had two tables and ordered a number of dishes including HK style Lobster. Everything was outstanding and delicious. The service, on the other hand, was expected for a Chinese restaurant. Come here with the expectation that you're here for the food and you will be fine. Also, they validate parking from the nearby parking lot so that's a plus as parking in chinatown is expensive!!
