Gluten free fried chicken! If you want a fried chicken sandwich, I highly recommend putting coleslaw or extra mayo or something on the sandwich. Needs a bit extra liquid imo, but maybe that's because I don't usually have breaded anything with bread? Knowledgeable about gluten free, plenty of options. Want to try the mozzarella sticks, but the prices cause a rivalry between my stomach and brain.
UPDATE:
Tried the mozzarella sticks. They were huge and delicious. (There were 5 but we immediately started eating them before I took a picture). Gluten free BLT also pictured.
We had a burger and spinach salad and both were fantastic! It's a very casual and friendly vibe and wonderful wait staff. Definitely a very cool neighborhood bar/ restaurant.
If I lived closer I'd go all the time. I went with my friend who goes there quite a bit because she lives in the neighborhood.
Lovely patio seating. And the absolute best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had in my liiiiiiiife! It’s great even without bacon, but with the bacon, it’s simply perfect. I dream about this sandwich.
Great dinner, with some fantastic food, I had gotten the special of the time a dr. Pepper braised pulled pork and some Cajun fries. These were eaten in mere moments by me because of how good they were. The waitstaff was extremely kind, and the general feel of the place was more akin to a bar, which is also present, so it is quite fitting.
Rockwell’s is such a hidden gem! Passersby may not immediately clock this bar/grill as having some of the best food and service in the area, but it does. The wait staff is so friendly, they have great outdoor seating, and the food is fantastic—both gluten-free and vegetarian friendly. I highly recommend the sirloin steak tacos!

Steak sandwich - tasty
Shrimp po boy - tasty
Mozzarella sticks - tasty
Chicken tender situations - pretty good
Egg rolls - interesting in a good way
Limeade - always a favorite
Had the macaroni once, it was late, probably not the best representation.
Televisions are present, but you'll only ever hear music from my experiences.
They have gluten free mozzarella sticks!!!
Really varied and tasty menu. Neighborhood surprise.
TVs if you want to watch, but plenty of room to not, if you don't. Outdoor dining as well. Very Chicago experience.
Very relaxing atmosphere at this neighborhood pub next to the Brown line. Good draft beer selection and an eclectic food menu. I enjoyed everything I ordered. We will absolutely return!
Excellent burger special - fresh basil, sundried tomato aioli, and mozzarella cheese! 😋 Got the (Cajun?) fries for the side. Not too impressed with whatever flavor that was supposed to be, but they were cut and cooked well. Our service was great and we sat on their beautiful patio to enjoy a late summer lunch. *chef's kiss*
Good beer selection, and the burgers are bonkers. If you need gluten free, they have a ton of options; even gluten free fried chicken!
Excellent fish tacos and tortilla soup. Quick service and close to cta train station. Perfect for lunch with family and friends. I would definitely return.
Gluten Free! We've always liked Rockwell's. Food and atmosphere have been a favorite for years. But today was the first we have been here since they changed the menu. Lots of great gluten free options! We will be back often!

A hidden neighborhood jewel! Try the New Orleans egg rolls, the shrimp tacos, the Tatanka Burger, the chicken & waffles! AND drink a couple of shots of Vida Mezcal and maybe a fancy artisanal beer! The staff is knowledgeable and cool! Bring your favorite lady, bring the kids, bring everybody!
