This is a great divvy Logans bar with a little bit of a nicer finish. They have a pretty unconventional draft beer list, which is nice. The $4 draft beer special on Thursdays makes that even nicer ;) the staff is chill but a little less chill than sooner other Logan spots. Music is good and not too loud. I tried the chili, which was pretty standard and filling, but nothing else food wise. There is a pool table in the back room that wasn't being used, but could be fun!
Chill low key bar with two TV's that have a killer 5 dollar burger fries combo on Wednesdays. Get a group of friends and have some beers with traditional bar food. 10/10 chill vibes. Pool table in back....
They have a great selection of beers, the food is very good quality and the fries/tots are amazing. I highly recommend this bar. Also I've heard from my vegetarian friends that they have the best veggie burger in town.
Came here for $5 burgers on Wednesdays and it was a really good burger. The toppings add a little bit of cost to the burger but it's still a really great deal. Cool ambiance as well.
Today, it's Buffalo Chicken sandwich with fries. Reuben and truffle tots. Great craft beer selection (especially on Thursdays).
In my regular rotation of places to go in the hood.
Gotta say, this place impressed me quite a bit.
The burger I had was really good. There are a lot of burgers to be had in this city, and most are passable, if not spectacular. That being said, this was on the higher end of the spectrum. Big beef patties, loads of fresh veggies, and a great bun. Good buns are underrated [insert joke here].
The tots are good too. A bit on the salty side, but that's probably the way they should be -- nobody wants to eat a bland tot (regardless of how intoxicated you may or may not be).
All of their drafts were $5 on a Thursday night, which isn't a bad deal.
The best part though was the service. Everyone working was super friendly and helpful, and they were actually upbeat and seemed like they wanted to be there (to the extent anyone ever really wants to be at work).
Honestly, garbage service is something that plagues too many establishments in this city. It's refreshing to go somewhere with employees who make customers actually enjoy being in the environment.
If I go back and get a sandwich as good as that burger I'll boost the rating!
Good bar with a hint of dive-y charm. Great, rotating selection of beer. The $4 specials are a great deal. I wish they'd get a *little* more adventurous with the food, but everything I've had has been good. (I recommend the burgers.)
One of my favorite bars to chill at with friends. Staff is very nice and checks in with good timing. They've got TVs on by the bar, a patio in the back that's nice when it's warm out. The only thing I wish they had more of was plant based food options. But they do have tastey fries and a hummus dish if you need vegan options.
Great atmosphere and good tunes always playing. They always have a solid special going on both for food and drinks. Thursday is the best for beer...a selection of craft ones are only 3 dollars. Lots of burgers that everyone in my group seemed to enjoy. I had the turkey apple sandwich...only ate half. Tooo much for one meal. It tasted great though.
Loved the atmosphere and the food. Prices were reasonable and their 5 dollar whiskey shots were great for the cold Chicago weather. The waitress also made sure I got extra blue cheese for my wings.
Had a chicken Caesar salad. It had rye croutons and I have literally been thinking about it every day and I know it was just a salad but damn it was good. Lovely dressing. Excellent tater tots as a side. Small back patio is cute and a pool table hides in a back room. Good service.
This place had a very European vibe. We shared a table with another party. The entire dining room was actually covered by the bar tender and he was ROCKING IT! He was always on top of drinks, took our food orders, was pretty fast at everything actually. Incredibly friendly too. I regret forgetting his name. Totally give this place a shot. With how hard the staff was working it's well worth giving them your patronage!
Came here with a date after a movie and while the menu won't shock you with its originality, the food is of high quality and they've got a good selection of beers and cocktails. The atmosphere (dark lighting, good seating) is highly conducive to lounging around and conversation, which is as it should be.
The spot to be at for a chill beer and some good food. This place has some of the best food in Logan, the cooks actually care about what they serve and if you're like me and judge a place by how delicious their ranch is then you'll like this place because their RANCH IS STUPID GOOD! Always changing food specials and four dollar drafts on Thursdays. Bring your friends and let them be impressed at how cool you and your hangout spot is. waaaaa
Neighborhood/townie bar feel in the bustling Logan Square area. This place feels a little dingy, but I like it. The food is surprisingly solid and well priced. Great beer and cocktails, also at good prices. And, daily specials on top of it all to boot.
I've always been a little disappointed since they changed the chili recipe - used to be more Texas style, flavor was way more rich and didn't have beans - but I can get over that. The staff here has always been awesome. The atmosphere is great. Sports on the TVs but they only put the sound on when Chicago teams are playing and it's the playoffs so usually it's great if you like watching the game but also enjoy conversation at a moderate volume.
Pool table in the back room is usually $1 a game but there is a free pool night once a week iirc.
Great beer selection but they also have your cheap go-tos in tallboys so you don't have to keep pretending you're fancy after you down the first couple pints of something decent.
Absolutely awesome place for tater tots. It is all about the tater tots. They have gravy tater tots, and Parmesan tater tots, truffle tater tots, and many other amazing choices! The burgers are also wonderful and there isn't one bad choice. They have a very extensive beer selection. The one gripe I gave with this place is the lack of hostess services. The guy by the door checks your Id and then go back to his phone, ignoring all further questions you may have.
a good spot for a group meet up or hangout, love the ahi tuna it's my absolute favorite. They serve a great portion size, always fresh and delicious. The have a pool table in the back. I haven't heard live music here yet but the overall music is pretty mixed, at times a little too loud that you have to scream over one another but the atmosphere is absolutely amazing and fun to be a part of you will definitely enjoy this place
The best part about my experience at Rocking Horse was that I went during the peak dinner rush and the servers let me chill by myself at a 4-seater table for over an hour while I waited for a friend. I would have sat at the bar but it was full. I was ordering drinks and planned on ordering dinner, though, and they were cool with letting me hold up their table. The food was great, the drinks strong and I would definitely go back. Plus, the neighborhood is great for shopping or just wandering around killing time.
