I enjoyed such a lovely brunch yesterday with friends. Staff was friendly, food came out quick, and it was delicious!! The place was very busy which is a good thing so I didn’t mind the bit of a wait before seating because it was definitely worth it!! What is the most fun about this space is how detailed the decorations are. Overall it’s a very trendy, cute, french ambiance! The owner personally stopped by our table several times to check and make sure everything was well.
Absolutely a delightful experience. Patisserie is unbeatable and the place is perfect to have a cup of coffee, have brunch with friends or just relax. Service is great, as soon as you get there , feels like they were waiting for you. Great place and best of luck!

Great experience. The food was amazing. The almond croissant is to die for! Big compliment for the staff. We were there Sunday morning and it was very busy. They apologized for the wait and even offered a free pastry although it wasn’t very long that we had to wait. In fact, we got a table for two right away. When they forgot to box my leftovers they gave me a free entree to go. Good food & friendly staff - we will definitely be back.
Yay! Yippee! Hip hip hooray! Thank you for this place. The best! Staff is awesome. Thank you Kimberly for your smiles and kindness!
I’m sitting here now, my FAVE spot . What’s better than a little taste of Europe in the heart of Chicago?! An absolute recommend!
Excellent food. Service was great condsidering it was their first brunch service! Highly recommended. I hope this succeeds in the neighborhood! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wonderful airy space to come & relax. Juices are refreshing & healthy. But you know you really came for the chocolate croissant, so just order it & savor every bite. Great addition to the neighborhood.
Lovely dinner tonight! The decor and atmosphere are absolutely perfect. Each detail is so carefully crafted. It's elegant without an heir of pretentiousness. The drinks were delicious; we had coffee and a fresh seasonal juice (watermelon, basil, cayenne) and were offered complimentary champagne. Our server Mia was very friendly and attentive. I wish I lived closer because this is the perfect spot to enjoy a morning beverage and pastry, or go on a romantic evening date. We will definitely be back. The house specialty passionfruit macaroon will be on my mind until next time.
Beautiful layout, comfortable, cozy, AMAZING macarons! Great vibes, staff, and food!
Visited during the soft opening on the 15th and had a great experience. Lattes still needed some tweaking (expected on a busy opening day), but the ambiance and service were lovely! Excited to revisit for brunch.
One of my favorite places to visit in Chicago for breakfast/brunch. The food is fresh, the service friendly, and plenty of novel places to sit; from traditional tables to cozy nooks. I especially appreciate the tables specifically reserved for laptop campers to work. This ensures that both casual diners and long term campers have appropriate space.
This brunch place is like party central with the best food in the area. If you want to bring a date here you can’t go wrong. I’ve gotten every dish with salmon, and they are all delicious, except I would just scrape off a little bit of the hollandaise sauce from the eggs Benedict. The location is prime and easily walkable. The service is top-notch, just get there early because the line gets really long, especially because this place is so popular… duh — the food is to die for. Get there really early, or get there after 2 PM to get a table. be ready for the club music late morning but I swear it’s really fun
I’ve been going to Maison Marcel for years and every time has been an exceptional experience. I like to post up and do some work or catch up with a friend while enjoying a cup of coffee and trying any of their delicious food items. I was recently here and ordered the avocado toast with an iced caramel latte. The photos speak for themselves really, I don’t think I need to explain further other than the place is cozy, the staff friendly, and the food phenomenal!
They also accommodate private events and large party reservations.
Had a truly delightful time at Maison Marcel. I’ve been dying to visit with some girls so was happy to go while my mom and sister were visiting. I recommend the Croque for brunch with egg — so so delicious for those who love savory cheese. The salad was nice and crisp to break up the heaviness too! Very cute little spot. Will be back for sure!
Recommend: I feel a bit mixed about it, and will come back to try some more food here.
The atmosphere is great. I had the eggs Benedict and it was not good and I do not recommend it, it just did not go well served on a regular sliced bread. I do however recommend the almond croissant, that was delicious!
Super French. Beautiful interior, and the food was amazing. We did wait a little bit for it, but man I personally had probably the best quiche of my entire life. Little pricey but par for the course in Chicago restaurants. Great experience overall!
Came here for an easy holiday morning. Place is constantly being checked and cleaned by staff, which were easygoing and fast paced. The line is just enough busy (we waited around 15min for our full order). We got a Lavender Latte, Salmon Eggs Benedict and Quiche. Worth the value! Pastries were also on point. We had a Chocolate Croissant and Apple Danish. The ambiance was beautiful, plenty of green and antique furniture which gives the atmosphere its unique feeling you’re somewhere in Paris. Coming back for more soon!
Cute, subtle sort of hidden spot in busy Lakeview East. Amidst the hustle and bustle this place does an amazing job of keeping the feeling of a small cafe in a corner of a Parisian street.
Got the croque monsieur with *mortadella* and then a nice spiced-enough Bloody Mary.
Delicious breakfast. Holds true to French cuisine versus giving in to US breakfast trends. Omelettes are French. Bread is French. Service is French. Place is unique and friendly. Food is very good. Vanilla Latte was very sweet. We shared an omelette, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and the Nutella crepe. Will definitely be going back. A bit pricey, but it's Lakeview and daily homemade organic food. Worth it.
a beautiful place that i would love to be able to just pop in for a coffee or a quick meal and take off but it's always so busy full of people who are dining for hours. it really feels like more of a cafe but they have a sit down restaurant menu which can lead to some scattered expectations. went with my mother and sister when they were in town and had a good time but i had low expectations and just wanted a easy breakfast
