The service is amazing the food is the best the environment. Everything about this place is perfect. I definitely go there on my cheat days because it is definitely worth it!
Upon entry, Aromas increased our appetite, , wait staff were very friendly, very prompt service as well,, Drinks were top notch,,, and when our food arrived, we all were very impressed, , We will be back, and we had traveled over 60 miles,, we'll worth the trip!!!

Always nothing short of delicious! I love the picadillo tostadas with rice and beans- always my go to! A lotta food for a low price! Not a fan of their steak or chicken but their veggie dishes and ground beef dishes are amazing and Tecalitlan remains my all time favorite Mexican restaurant in Chicago period! Great food! Great friendly service! Love it! Amazing enchiladas suizas too!! YUM!!
The food was amazing and the service was great. I will be coming back. The Mole enchiladas is the best I have had in years. I love how the owner approached my table and give me a history lesson on mole.

The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was great and so were the waitresses and waiters. The bathroom was spotless and the price for the food was certainly reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and EVERYONE!
Food is great!! I had the enchiladas de mole! It was delicious (I'm a very picky person) yes food was very good!! Margaritas are excellent, I had the mango margarita and you could tell it was made with real fruit!! � staff was very attentive and fast!
We always enjoy Tecalitlan, we always went there when we lived in Chicago and now that We live in Grayslake for the last 13 years we try to get there every chance we can. They have the best Mexican food and I never leave hungry, because the dishes are plentiful. We always come home with a people bag.

The menu was huge. They offer food and drink specials. It was pretty quiet when we went, so atmosphere got 3/5. The portions are huge. We loved the nachos.
As a kid my parents use to take me to the original location on Ashland… so when the hacienda and the location on Chicago closed we were so sad. My parents found that this location had opened and now we will for sure become regulars again. Margaritas 10/10, tacos al pastor 10/10, quesabirrias 10/10, elote 10/10, tortilla soup 10/10. The al pastor here is by far the best…. Just beats Atotonilco, if you know you know!
The food at Tecalitlan is very good, but it is nothing special. You definitely will not be disappointed but it is just missing something to get it over the edge. Fortunately, it comes out incredibly quickly. It was maybe 5 minutes from order to getting my food. Once you get your food, the staff will mostly leave you alone, which is great for enjoying the meal, but you may have to flag someone to pay and leave.
The food was amazing and they handled our table of 11 people wonderfully. Like most places, they can't split bills for parties that big but our group didn't mind. Service was excellent and drinks and food all came out fast and hot. Will definitely be coming back for a date night.
My old neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Well, in their previous Ukrainian Village location anyway. Food remains good although the margarita pricing has become silly. Best pico salsa around.
The best Mexican food I’ve found since moving from the west to the north side. Also more affordable than the spots you find in LP/Lakeview/River North. Great spot!

ummm WOW! Very authentic Mexican and everything was amazing! The outdoor patio is awesomeeee right now especially if you want to social distance responsibly. We felt so comfortable! The staff was so friendly and tentative. Slight delay on the appetizer but she apologized and kept us informed which I appreciate. The tamales were huge, I recommend the chicken! Steak enchiladas with green sauce were some of the best I’ve ever had. Can’t rave about this place enough. Large portions, good prices!
Had 4 different restaurant food catered for about 100 people, Tecalitlan's food (I got chicken and beef taco meat trays) was BY FAR the favorite. The food is so delicious that my kids who usually are super picky with food, DEVOUR their tacos, beans, and Mexican rice.
Carlos and Francisco are friendly and helpful! They helped so much with the catering chafing dishes, utensils, and condiments.
Incredible all around! Their tacos are authentic street style and their salsa is *chefs kiss* I’ve had a lot of tacos in Chicago and these are definitely the best I have had in a long time. 😋 The service was excellent as well. Will be coming back for sure!

My review is based on a grubhub delivery: I can't believe how well packaged everything is. Nothing spilled and everything was still warm. If like me, you want a very satisfying taco dinner on a lazy Sunday and beautifully packaged margaritas, then look no further. So happy to find this gem!
Very clean, colorful art on the walls, friendly staff that were serious about getting it right. I loved the food, we had queso birria, carne asada burrito (perfect), tacos, guac, elite and margherita and all were perfect. Very comfortable setting, and a very solid food. Definitely coming back!
