Very loud, expensive and underwhelming. 2 of 3 steaks over cooked and nothing comes with sides. Drinks were perfect except the hot chocolate, tasted like watered down powder. Many appetizers and they were probably the best part of the meal.

One of my favorite places in Chicago. The food is always delicious here. I strongly recommed the el filet bodega with a side of spinach mashed potatoes. The filet mignon really melts in your mouth. The red wine onion sauce and chimichurri sauce goes very well together. Really enjoyed my birthday dinner. Julieth gave us a very attentive service.
One of the best places in Chicago. Get any dish and you would be satisfied. They give you this crunchy bread and butter at first. Its a vibe.
First time at this excellent restaurant. Went there for an after hours biz meeting, drinks and dinner. The mojitos were great, the empanadas and steaks we had were definitely items to return for. The overall vibe, however, is what made me really like this small Argentinian steak house. The service was just about perfect and the whole experience made it worth fighting traffic from the suburbs. This is a very cool place that I can only highly recommend.
The easiest 5 stars I could give and across the board. Bodega Sur is an absolute treasure.
The employees are friendly and seem to genuinely want to answer your questions and help you find the food or beverage that you would most enjoy.
We enjoyed a couple of cocktails and an appetizer prior to heading next door to Tango Sur. I can’t wait to go back.
If you like cocktails, I highly recommend the Caipirinha and Pisco Sour. Jenny (spelling) was INCREDIBLE. As of June 2023, $15 off wine to take to Tango Sur.
Amazing spot first time visit yesterday it was excellent. Food was amazing fresh and great quality. The waitress offer exceptional service very attentive. A+
Absolutely delicious and I’m guessing a bit of a hidden gem for a melt-in-your-mouth steak under $40. The ambience is very warm, and subtly trendy. It’s not over done. Just like your steak isn’t. The staff were friendly and inviting. Plus the long wall of their wine selection made me feel right at home. lol. Perfect stop after spending time at Music Box Theater.
Ordered takeout from this place for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised. A 10 out of 10 first impression. I ordered the Lomo Bodega steak, that was medium rare the way I ordered. There was a well served salad as a side, the chimichurri sauce was on point. Also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out a bag with fresh bread (still warm) that they’d usually serve at the restaurant if you were dining in person and a generous amount of butter to go with them as well.
Loved my 1st experience with Bodega Sur and now looking forward to dining in with them in person in the near future as well!
Delicious food with a cozy restaurant atmosphere. This street is full of fun venues and restaurants, and we were glad to stop in here before our concert. The wine was nicely paired with the beef dishes we tried. Although I would recommend the spinach empanada as one of our favorites from the meal!
Been here for pre-dinner drinks and brunch. Cocktails are very good and the vibe is pretty romantic with lighted candles. For brunch, I have had the Flatbread, blueberry pancakes, and huevos rancheros. All entrees were good portions and filling. The cafe con leche is also really good. Dog friendly outdoor patio.
Came in on a Thursday around 9:30 and sat at the bar. The place is super chill, on the smaller side and low key. Both the cocktails I had were fantastic and strong without tasting like it. Had the 16oz bone in ribeye, cooked to a medium rare perfection and has this chimichurri rub on it that was incredible. It’s served over a healthy portion of arugula salad with peppers - every thing went together perfectly. So basically a 16oz steak, a salad, and two cocktails ran about $70. For Chicago prices that’s not bad. I will definitely return here. Bartender was very friendly as well.
I have lived in this neighborhood longer than it was actually a destination spot so not sure what took so long to pop into this amazing little spot. It is part of the family of Argentinian restaurants throughout Chicago including Tango Sur right next door. We walked in after the Chicago Film Festival and were welcomed by two lovely hostesses. We drank and ate at the bar. The drinks were amazing. The food even better. We opted for a variety of empandadas and hummus because it was a little late to fully fill our bellies. The selection of small plates is impressive. My friend loves Mojitos. I love mexcal so the bartender recommended and made their lipsmaking cocktail. All was fairly priced from a friendly staff. And the lighting is mellow adding to the great ambience.
So yummy - loved the knowledgeable service staff, relaxed atmosphere, and Delicious food!
Perfect spot to grab a drink or bottle of wine at while waiting for Tango Sur! The cocktails were delicious and the wine very fairly priced while also providing some unique South American options/varietals to pair with your meal!
The food was great I had the Lomito sandwich it was tad hard to bite the sandwich because you would bite then it would be a big strip of meat was coming, it also came with fries once I seasoned the fries with salt and pepper oh wait they had salt whoops. I just added the pepper they tasted even better, the horrible part was trying to find parking on Saturday night spent about 25 minutes going around trying to find a parking spot.
Great restaurant, their drinks is pretty good.
Service was very friendly.
The only reason why I would give 4 stars is because my steak was extremely salty, so that lost a bit of the magic for me.
