Affordable Chinese cuisine and comfy seating. They serve complimentary hot tea and while you order and give free ice cream and fortune cookies after the meal. The egg rolls are really good. They also had the best hot and sour soup from all I've tasted in the city so far. We had the crispy beef and general tso's chicken, then the chicken lo mein. The lo mein was a little bland for us. The entree's were good but we prefer a little more spice. Over all, very good restaurant! The service was good, the staff was nice & friendly. If there were any bad reviews about a certain server, well they must have not been around during our visit. We'll be back!
Underrated vintage Chinese gem - takes you back to the 1970s in decor and prices. Generous servings of greasy (in a good way) tummy-tingling meals, and fantastic tiki cocktails. Service is old school Chinese - efficient and curt. If you know all this going in, you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve been ordering delivery from here for years. Quick and easy phone order, delivered always in under an hour. Consistently tasty. Love the shrimp fried rice and the egg rolls are perfect. I’ve dined it twice and each time was a good experience. Fun drink menu and good service. Definitely recommend.
I had an excellent experience here all around. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I even accidentally tipped over my water glass and they were there in a flash cleaning it up and assuring me it was no problem! I also loved the food... I ordered sweet and sour chicken and my boyfriend had a beef dish. Both were excellent tasting and very filling. The rice also was very fluffy and perfectly cooked. We also shared a couple cocktails, which were tall, delicious, and really inexpensive. We will definitely be coming back!
I love the food. Especially the appetizer for 2 (great portions), but customer service could be a lot better. Although I can't complain to much, because I drive over an hour to eat at the restaurant including bypassing China town. If you eat here my suggestion is to dine in = more food and more fresh. Plus not all waiters are rude.
Wing How has been a part of my dining experience for the last 20 years. I enjoy their food. It's comfort food. Chicken with black bean sauce is yummy. They cook the egg roll with peanut oil. It gives it a distinct flavor. I really enjoy the vegetable soup. Another one of my favorites is the crispy beef. I could eat it all day. I also will let you know that they're vegetable soup is sublime. Such a great flavor with tons of tasty vegetables, a great vegetarian delight.
I came here for dinner with my girlfriend and we were very pleased with the experience. The restaurant was quiet on a Wednesday evening and the servers were very friendly and polite. They were accommodating even when we spilled our water.
We ordered some cocktails, which were happily bigger than we expected. Anticipating a little rocks glass or tumbler, the drinks came in a nice tall glass. For entrees we ordered sweet and sour chicken as well as beef with tomato and green pepper. Both items arrived quickly, hot, fresh, and delicious alongside a dish of steamed rice. The portions were large, so we took some leftovers home.
Dinner ended with a pair of fortune cookies and a surprise scoop of ice cream for each of us. That was a nice treat, especially on a warm day.
Good food and reasonable prices. Plenty of parking.
Nice restaurant. They're going to relocate after property developers tear the place down. The house specialty, Wing Hoe beef is very good. Corkage charge for BYOB, they do serve alcohol and have ample parking. Only been there once, but will follow to next location.
I have been going to this place since about 1994 with my mom, grandmother and great grandmother. We would always go for special occasions. Since moving to New York in '99, every time I visit Chicago I absolutely have to go here at least once. Their shrimp with lobster sauce is the best I have ever tried. No one else makes flavor like that. Can't wait till my next visit in September!
Menu is very typical Chinese style. Great egg rolls, good soups, good main courses. Free tea, fortune cookies and ice cream. Generally good service. Restaurant is up about 10 steps. Is eat in or take out or delivery
I have been coming here for years and it is my favorite Chinese food restaurant ever. The service is excellent and the food is always prepared fresh. If I could come every week I would ha. Also love the added ice cream at the end of every meal! I'd recommend anyone looking for a great Chinese restaurant in Chicago to try Wing Ho out, you won't be disappointed.
Pretty much my favorite Chinese food place in Chicago. The prices are good for the portions, the hot tea is plentiful, the food is good. You can choose something fancy with a gorgeous display or just keep it simple. The smoothies are wonderful to take with you on a hot summer day. Oh! And I love their sweet and sour sauce even though it sometimes clogs the container because it's so rich. They also deliver pretty far.
