Catching a train should leave time to enjoy the bar or the kitchen. Whatever is the choice no one misses their departure.

Even in the fabled Windy City - one of the hidden gems. Great food, great drinks, gorgeous bartender(s), very friendly and helpful staff - hard to think of a better place to cool off after a long work day right next to the river in Ogilvie. Options also include getting a to-go drink on the train for excellent prices; corporate events or just an ideal place for a first date. Did I mention the bartender is hot??

One of the most lively places in the Loop, and located conveniently at Ogilvie. Big menu with lots of options. Tacos with beans and rice are especially good.

Great food and service, as is the norm here. I took some coworkers to lunch after a stressful meeting to relax outside by the river. Drinks and food really helped, plus a quiet atmosphere.

Good spot downtown Chicago to have drinks...and food. Met up with some friends and there was no rush to move us along (after we finished our food and drinks; it wasn't crowded). Everyone's food looked good. My fish and chips were great. Loved my wine. Wait-staff checked on us throughout our time there. I initially wasn't crazy about the meeting spot but now I am all in. If this isn't your neck of the woods, a good parking location is the 500 W. Monroe. I used ParkWhiz and my friend used SpotHero. My parking cost was cheaper and my time was extended whereas hers was the time she selected only and it cost more. Enjoy!

Good place to stop for happy hour after work. It's a pretty standard bar with decent service and a good selection of drinks. They always tend to have a good selection of local craft beers from around Chicago, including from some breweries that you don't normally see much of.

I grabbed dinner here recently and it was pretty good. The restaurant is a large space with plenty of tables and high-tops available and a bar in the center. I ordered their buffalo chicken quesadilla and it was extremely good. It was extremely tasty, not overly spicey, and great presentation. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I was literally in and out of this place in 30 minutes and it was extremely busy with most tables filled. The restaurant was very easy to spot right off of W. Madison Street. The location is pretty loud, with a bar-like (hence tavern) atmosphere. If you're looking for somewhere quiet, this might not be it. Overall a great experience and certainly a spot I'd head back to.

Madison Tavern is everything one can ask for in a neighborhood favorite! Delicious and juicy house-made burgers, terrific and tasty tacos (my favorite on Tuesdays!), fresh salads, and plenty of app choices to share or to make a meal out of if interested. Great place for an after-work cocktail or tap beer too!
