I am in town for a ballgame, staying at an Air B&B nearby. I am glad the proximity brought me here.
Friendly welcoming staff, interesting and diverse menu, and it took...oh let's see, 2 minutes to feel like I have been coming here forever.average person heaven
I would say picky, snobby people STAY AWAY! Don't ruin it for the rest of us.
You know who you are.
Came here with my sister for brunch, and it was delicious. So cozy inside and the staff was great. The iced coffee I ordered was huge and pretty good. I also got a breakfast burrito which was delicious and the side of rice and beans was a nice touch. 5/5 stars and I will def be going back.
Absolutely love this place. I’ve been here multiple times and everything tastes like someone was paying attention. Their sausage links are incredible. Their pancakes are also incredible and I don’t like pancakes at all. The only reason I tried them is the second time I went was my birthday so they brought out a pancake with a candle in it lol. Love this place.
Food was great. Service was super quick. Nice to find a breakfast restaurant local to West Town thst is not overpriced. The staff was very nice too!
Walked over for breakfast around 9 am. Quickly found a table and ordered the Sunrise Special.
Service was affable and prompt. Coffee was refilled quickly. There’s a wide variety available on the menu.
Definitely a diner I will be coming back to.
I really love to eat here. It's a very comfortable place to be. The food is always good, the prices are very good and the service is impeccable. We demolished our breakfast.
Decided to try this spot out on a whim. This is a nice cozy place that serves a solid breakfast. The server was very friendly and very attentive. There is a homemade sauce that was brought out with the food, which is pretty good. Tried the country fried steak, which was pretty tasty. Most importantly it wasn't overly expensive. The meal filled me up for the rest of the day, so you do get more bang for your buck.
This is a perfect little mom and pop breakfast joint. As you walk in, you realize that the coffee scent is embedded into the floorboards and wood edges of this quaint little place. The staff know their customers and greet them like family. Like many small businesses, I think they have fallen on hard times, but they do their best to provide good basics. We had breakfast, which was very well made and fresh. It's not a competitive place and a far cry from the uppity places that surround the area, their prices are still not as high as everyone else's in the area. I will continue to promote this place and recommend it, for its heart and for what it is: a sweet and enduring place whose strength is their ability to welcome you whole- heartedly and give you the best they've got. Not too many places can give you both, but this place does. Enjoy.
It’s small and I wasn’t expecting much walking in but the food was fantastic. The refried beans were the best I’ve ever eaten. Everyone in our group left super impressed. The waitress was awesome as well. Great recommendations and equally great service. Highly recommended.
Solid breakfast.
Reasonably priced.
Warm environment and a friendly staff.
Early bird special is worth the trip
We walked in with a party of six hungry guys, and we left incredibly satisfied! The refried beans here are amazing, as well as the ranch and *curly* fries! Everything tasted homemade. 10/10, would highly recommend.
The waitress suggested the portobello skillet and it was so delicious!! I will definitely come back for that. The service was great, it's a diner, so nothing fancy, but food was good. My son had simple eggs, sausage and hash browns and he ate everything, quite a shocker!! Only thing was the coffee was a bit too acidic for me. Not sure what kind they serve.
Luckily Whisk was cash only, so we got to try this delicious place and skillet. Will be back.
We called in a large order this morning. The owner took our order; she was fun and friendly - our order was perfect. The food was delicious - we ordered several items from scrambled eggs to tofu to and omelet to corned beef, with hash browns and several variations of toast + a selection of butter or jellies. Really, really good. The OJ was also delicious - freshly squeezed. Recommend!

Sunrise cafe has consistently great service and amazing food. It’s our new go-to local cafe for breakfast and lunch! Staff is also so sweet and friendly.
One of the best spots in Chicago! Classic little diner — no frills, but the friendliest staff and an amazing bang for your buck. It's become me and my partner's go-to for an easy, tasty breakfast or lunch
Favorite breakfast spot!! Their Chilaquiles are the best in Chicago. The green salsa always delivers! Extremely friendly and thoughtful staff. Everything is so yummy. Always recommend this spot and take my visitors to. Hard to find a consistent delicious breakfast spot.
