I’ve never written a Facebook review - but I’m so obsessed with this place I figured I had to. You can’t go wrong with their breakfast sandwiches, they are SUBLIME. Amazing coffee - and some of the best staff in Chicago. Always feel welcome and invited. Keep on being awesome Smack Dab.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Smack Dab Yet. They brighten my day whenever I go in. The staff are delightful, quirky, genuine nice humans! The egg biscuit sandwiches are a delight to my mouth. The jams + those herbs + the fluffy biscuit is so tasty. The biscuit is fluffy but sturdy enough to hold your sandwich. They really care about the community they are in and I love that they support important community work being done. They made me a believer in vegan donuts. They even have decaf cold brew which was fulfilling my wildest decaffinated dreams. Just enough options to excite but not overwhelm you. I could continue to wax on about them, but you should go see for yourself... a dozen times (or maybe a bakers dozen!)

This has quickly become our weekend family tradition. We adore the staff, the coffee and tea, and the unbelievably delicious breakfast treats. I'm a sweets girl and love trying the donuts and cinnamon rolls, while my wife is a bacon jam with egg biscuit sandwich regular. Thank you for being you!

Smack Dab is hands-down my fave place to grab coffee, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, donuts and other lovely pastries - not only because they're delicious but the staff is kickass and they support the community. Tons of GF and Vegan options, too.

I just recently found this great little local breakfast area. While yes a little pricey compared to McDonalds the service was fast the staff are friendly and you can sit and enjoy you meal inside or outside on the patio. I plan to return often -Update. 9-923 - i have been living in the neighborhood for a week now, and still love this place. The food is full of flavor, the service is still great, I only wish I could eat hear more often **added photos ***

Went for the first time and loved the vibes. I especially love all the artwork and commitment to inclusion and justice evident in the space. Tried their seasonal sweater weather latte, it felt like putting on a wool sweater that was in the kitchen while holiday dinner was being made (toasty and herbal) as well as the latke sandwich special. Savory, messy, and a delight to eat! The pimento grits were also creamy and comforting. I will promptly be hibernating after this meal. It's quite a trip up from the southside, but was well worth it and will definitely visit again!

I've been a loyal customer of Smack Dab since 2017 when I used to live in the area. Even though I've moved since then, I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in the city or whenever I can squeeze in a visit because it's truly worth it! There's one sandwich that I absolutely adore, and it has become my go-to order every single time: the best seller with tomato jam and Chipotle Mayo. It's just perfection! What holds it all together is the wonderfully cheesy herb biscuit, which adds that extra touch of deliciousness. When it comes to drinks, I always go for the maple latte for myself and a cappuccino for my husband. Our toddler is also a big fan of everything they make, but the donuts are definitely the ultimate winner in our household. And oh, do yourself a favor and try their almond croissant too, because it's simply too good to miss out on! What's even more impressive about Smack Dab is their commitment to giving back to the community. It warms my heart to know that they care about making a positive impact. On top of that, the staff members are all genuinely nice human beings, which adds to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Sending so much love and gratitude to Smack Dab, and I truly hope they continue to thrive and bring joy to people for many years to come!

I was lucky to have stumbled upon Smack Dab when they were just a pop up - first at pub 626 and then at Rogers Park Social on Glenwood. The cheesy biscuits keep me coming back - but their community involvement and dedication to their employees is what makes me shout their praises to anyone who will listen. I love that they make pizzas and other holiday specials like paczki and king cake. And if you haven’t tried the vegan chocolate Pepita bread, you’re missing out!

Absolutely delicious food whether you have food intolerances or not. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had with GF Focaccia and vegan cheese. The GF bread was light, airy and not at all dense which is a feat for GF baking and was the perfect vehicle for my sandwich. Since it was my first visit, the owner kindly gave me a slice of Double Chocolate Pepita Bread to sample and it was flavorful, moist and a delight. My regular food eating husband loved his generously portioned breakfast bowl and found the cinnamon roll delicious but not too unhealthy tasting. Indoors was cute but the A/C was so cold I found it preferable to sit outside. Highly recommend, can’t wait to try something new on a future visit.

Hyper-local. So delicious. So deliciously queer. I don’t even know where to begin raving about this local gem. I first experienced the joy of Smack Dab when they were a tiny pop up donut vendor in a bar on Sunday mornings. When they set up a permanent location two blocks from home, I knew my wallet would never be the same. When I moved from Rogers Park to the ‘burbs, I found lots of good alternatives but nothing quite compares and I still make the 20 minute drive regularly not only for the donuts but also the joyful, queer, welcoming atmosphere. Smack Dab feels like home, in all the best ways. The donuts are special in a way I can’t actually describe so just go get some. (And they’re vegan?!) The Life-Changing Breakfast Sandwich isn’t on the menu anymore but it truly changed my life (Onion. Jam. Chive. Bar. Mayo.). All the food is super tasty, and there are lots of vegan AND gf options. Sitting on the patio in the sunshine surrounded by pride flags year-round is an amazing way to spend a morning. They support local nonprofits with a percentage of sales. If you visit once, you’ll be delighted. If you visit regularly, you’ll be recognized and feel loved. If you follow them on instagram, sometimes there’s a cute baby. So go get your coffee and a donut and support an amazing local business. You will not regret it for a second (unless you’re dieting but that’s bad for your health anyway, so go to Smack Dab and save yourself)!

I absolutely love Smack Dab! They have great seating options, both indoor and outdoor. It's very comfy cozy. They have a diverse menu for different dietary needs. As a vegan, I am always thrilled to see clearly labeled and expansive options on a menu. My go to are the cinnamon sugar donuts and the vegan breakfast sandwich (pictured). I literally dream about the jam on this sandwich.

I was blown away my first time here and now it’s a I have to come here if I’m in Chicago. I’m not much for experimentation with my food but my first taste of the bestest seller reminded me of how I’ve limited myself to a straight up horrible existence in life itself. I wish I was kidding. I’ve tried 4 different dishes and they are all delicious. Treat yourself well…please. Sincerely your number one Queens NY fan.

The breakfast sandwich was unbelievable. I ate it with a fork because it was so big. The eggs, cheese, and chicken sausage together were so savory. I would definitely come back. I ate outside, and they even brought me my food. Great little spot!!
