Let’s start with some positive note. I always wanted to try Pakistani chicken karahi as I had seen in many food vlogs before. So I happened to pass through Chicago on my road trip and ended up choosing “Bundoo Khan” restaurant for early dinner. Wow the “Highway Chicken Karahi” what I ordered was so good that regretted that why I haven’t tried this dish before. I am sure if this chicken karahi was so tasty, I am pretty sure Lamb and goat would be even more flavorful and tastier. Good job guys, that’s really amazing. Thought it was bit spicy but you’ll oversee all that if you love its taste. Spice levels can be adjusted by the chef in case if someone can’t handle high spice levels. Down side this is always seen in Indian, Pakistani and Nepali restaurants that servers keep looking at you even though you ordered your food, eating your food and till you leave. Otherwise the ambiance was fantastic and of course they have to play Indian and Pakistani films songs. Just put instrumental music man, that will be great advice. Over all the food was indeed amazing.
Chicken came out tender and really well seasoned - spice level was great. The people there are really attentive and accommodating to their guests. I will say that the food is great and they keep the place well kept as well. The food does take a bit of time to be made so if you’re hungry get an app.
Really really enjoyed the food - very delicious, tasty and spicy. Ordered their bbq items - chicken tikka (extra spicy) which was very very spicy and loved it, reminded me of karachi chicken tikkas, it was spot on, then beef behari was very flavourful and fry kabab too very flavorful. Ordered puri parathas too which were very good not like other places where they give the frozen parathas. Highly recommended loved their bbq and also I have had their karahi way back in 2020 and i remember it was very good. Good job guys 👍🏻
Service was good as it was not a weekend but still our bbq items took a while to come which was strange, bbq items not take too long.
Not the original bundu khan but i must have you are at the same level.
Pretty much quintessential experience to have when dining on Devon street in Chicago. For travellers from outside of the state this place offers an opportunity to eat Pakistani food. We went there early afternoon and so it was not very busy. We were quickly seated and orders were taken. Their menu is not overtly expansive and therefore making a choice is not a long ordeal. We ordered mutton karahi. It had a slight mutton smell but the masala was on spot and meat was very soft and tender. Chicken smoked karahi was also very tasty.
The Nihari was fantastic and the service and atmosphere were great! The moment you enter you see the grill master laying skewers and you are hit with the smell and then you walk into the dining room area that has original printed photos from Pakistan.
The staff were constantly floating around and working with passion, cleaning, bringing plates and organizing tables.
Highway Karahi sauce was full of flavor and not too oily.
We drove all the way from Virginia just to try this amazing food and Chicago itself. This is my second time here and I absolutely love it!! Food is soo good and delicious. We order chicken biryani and kharahi. I was so happy seeing aloo in biryani. We barely get to see that in Virginia. From samosa to chai everything was absolutely delicious. The customer service is awsome. They kept on checking if we need anything and we’re supper nice. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND‼️
Absolutely amazing food! I have been to a few restaurants in Devon, but so far, this is the best. We travel all the way from Cali to enjoy Chicago or come here for work, and this will definitely be a usual spot for us. The grilled chicken kabob platter, chickem boti, highway chicken karahi, and beef samosa were all so, so good. I dont know much about the whole original Bundoo Khan franchise bebate, but this a must to visit if you're in the area.
Also, if you get Basit as a server, you're in for a treat. He's super friendly, very professional, prompt, and so willing to serve. He had amazing customer service and was very personable.
My first time at Bundoo Khan, IL. I have already had food at Bundoo khan Fullerton and Bundoo Khan Fremont so naturally I am going to compare it with those places. I really liked the overall ambiance and their service, and the staff is also very active and well mannered. I ordered their Chicken Karahi and Beed bihari boti. Really wanted to try their paratha roll but they were out of all kinds of rolls - very sad! Karahi was good in a way that it was not a regular gravy but still was a bit sweet for me. I also found Bihari kabab average. I must say that the other 2 Bundoo khan in California are way better than this one in terms of taste and quality of food.
Excellent food, quick service with people coming to help you very quickly. Seated and served very fast. Awesome boti rolls of any flavor, and very good Kashmiri Chicken Bihari with bone.
First time visitor and we’re looking for same experience as back home in Pakistani and it was phenomenal. Much better than any white washed desi restaurant.
The apps, main course, and dessert were phenomenal! Service was on point. Parking is a hassel. Definitely a place to visit if you've never. It is $$ than your average restaurants on the block but worth it.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bandoo Khan, a gem nestled in Chicago's vibrant Devon Street. After a recommendation from both friends and colleagues, I decided to give it a try among the many renowned Indian-Pakistani restaurants in the area. The food was not just delicious but a true delight. The Mutton Chops and Charahi stood out with their exceptional flavors and preparation. A definite must-visit for anyone craving an authentic culinary experience
We ordered highway chicken with naan and lamb seekh kabab. Lamb was beautifully cooked, it was tender and flavorful. Chicken gravy was spicy like we wanted. I think one of the best places for meat lovers.
Good food. Pricing on higher side but it’s worth if u are a traveller like me. And coming from a Muslim Indian back ground inevitably we love to eat so it’s a worthy shot
Absolutely amazing food and great service. Our server Harry was very good! Kamran is extremely helpful, fantastic dish recommendations and great job expediting the dishes even when the restaurant was packed.
Solid and authentic Pakistani style bbq. As someone visiting from Australia, we don't have this taste there. Really enjoyed the taste flavours, service was great too. Ample seating space.
First time visit and the food was fantastic. It does take a bit because the food is all perfectly grilled so order some French fries as soon as you arrive, if you are starving!
Chicken wing appetizers were incredible. They are small so if you are with a group, get a few orders.
Food and Service were 5 stars!!
I give atmosphere 4 stars only because it is a bit loud but not terrible. Lots of people enjoying good food and good company.
