My family and I have been going to Udupi since we've lived in the neighborhood in 2002 and until now, even after we've moved out and away.
We love southern Indian food, and especially because it's vegetarian/vegan.
Polite team, good service and relaxing atmosphere.
My choice for veg cuisine in Chicago. Classy yet warm atmosphere, always outstanding dishes with all the variety you expect of a good Indian restaurant.
Very welcoming staff and owner, also the food tasted very good!
Worthy for the amount!
I extremely liked given the tasty vegetarian food. Cleanliness and hygienic conditions to be improved
Complete satisfaction with excellent customer service and the great south Indian taste
Awesome place to eat Indian food, we loved it. Service is a bit slow, but other than that taste of the food is great.
We tried this place for the first time and absolutely loved it!
They have a good range of food options, the place helps the community by hiring senior citizens to work their and earn a living (just loved this part).
The food tasted really very good! we tried a lot of different dishes and they all tasted mind blowing.
This is my new to go restaurant in Chicago! The prices are very reasonable.
I would highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again!
Keep up the good work.
I went during lunch time and ordered a sada mysore dosa. The portion was quite small compared to other dosa spots I have been to. Sambar was alright. Coconut chutney was great. Dosa was pleasantly crispy and fragrant but I wish the flavors of the mysore were more prominent. I like my food relatively spicy and thought Udupi did a great job with the spiciness of every component.
The food was very good, but that came with a service charge of 18%.
They have some cashbacks on Discover Cards I guess, carry one if you plan to visit.
Breakfast items and thali options are good. Everything tastes fresh and good. However looks like idly was just made with rava so it missed the authentic taste I what I felt. Coconut chutney was excellent. Thali had everything except sweet, may be there should add any to full fill the meal. Chapathi and poori was freshly made. Staff was good and maintained the restaurant well.
I am their customer from the day one they opened this place I have always enjoyed the food here. The food is very authentic south test.reasonable price. People are friendly. Place is nice and clean. I defiantly recommend this place for test, cleanliness and reasonable price.
Real authentic South Indian dining experience, food-wise. Their sambar and idli is so good, as is the medhu vada and coconut chutney. But the show stealers here are the masala dosas which were light and flavourful and everything I was looking for.
Fast service, good food.
Got our order in and were able to be in and out quickly! Definitely come back here again!
Was so excited about coming here. Heard so many great things!!! And I’m so happy to come back, there were so many dishes I wanted to try. I can still taste the curry and samosas ‘mmm yum! Recommend y’all. The service was adequate and the environment was friendly💙.
Excellent food, great service, nice dinning experience, dependable quality year after year! We order extra dishes to take out with us while we eat so we can enjoy them at home the next day with the family.
Love this place.
A decent vegetarian breakfast place in Devon Street, Chicago. The service was good and the food was interesting. I felt like I missed the authentic taste but it was fine on the whole. Definitely worth giving it a shot. I'd give this a solid 3.5.
Opens at 11 officially but food is only ready by 11.30. Overall it was good, not to crowded. We got Mysore masala Dosa, sambhar wada, coffee and tea. The wada was not crisp and sambhar a little oily. But food tasted good. Good breakfast place is near Devon street.
Good South Indian food place in Devon street area. Loved the Channa Bhatura and Achari aloo. Warm and welcoming service by the staff.
