Had the new plant based burger with seasoned fries- it's to die for the best- our superior waitress Jessica, very friendly. The cook came out to say Hello and asked how our food was. What a great place to eat and relax on Sunday. ❤👍
Visiting Chicago & came across West Town Bakery in my Happy Cow app. This place is amazing for the vegan and our waitress was fantastic and even brought us a vegan pop tart to sample while we were waiting on our food. I will definitely be back on my next visit.
Wanted something SWEET went in guy behind the counter was SO helpful I ordered 9 cake pops and I told him to add 3 more of the favorites and he did . So I got 12 for price of 9. Love the the diner and bakery. The next time I am in the City going to go there for lunch. Loved the staff, place, and baked goods.
This place is killer. The service is friendly the food comes quickly. The environment is colorful, hip and comfortable, and the menu is wonderful. There are plenty of diner standards to enjoy such as skillets and waffles but everything has a fresh and interesting twist to it, making every order something not just to enjoy, but to discover. I recommend the Benedict Fresca; vegan dish or standard, it's delicious either way. Did I mention the bakery? The cupcakes are amazing and reasonably priced.
Everything was delicious! From the French toast to bacon and eggs and the waffles and chicken. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu.
I had the F.A.T.S. skillet and loved it! Awesome decor and service, but the best part of my visit by far was the Dark Matter doughnut. It was so good I actually went back the next day for another one. Next time I'm in Chicago I will definitely be visiting this place again.
Love their always changing pastry assortment. The baked goods are always fresh and one can tell they pay attention to the details. Also, this is a great place for celebration cakes - their designs are amazing!

Baked goods are rich and delicious at a good price. We got pointed in this direction by the dispensary next door. It was 25% off there if you bought a baked good. Solid way for businesses to collab and we got to try great new food. The workers were cool and we're going back for breakfast. (Will update after).

Breakfast was phenomenal. Lots of options (for vegetarians and vegans too). Large portions so you don't leave hungry. We sat on the patio, nice cool morning, great service. The lattes are wonderful.
This is a sit down breakfast and lunch cafe with tons of freshly baked donuts, pastries and bread products. The service is attentive and very friendly. They bring coloring pages and colors for our grandkids. The coffee is excellent. Very great old school place but with a more up to date vibe.
Awesome bakery! Such a cool/hip environment! Great baked goods selection. I have not eaten regular food here because it’s usually too busy to get a table, but I can vouch for the bakery! Coffee is just okay- too acidic for me. But the baked goods are a WOW! They have outdoor seating on Chicago Avenue.
It was a good visit - it was a Sunday and it was chill, during the day - visit was lovely - was not very crowded - the food was good, nothing over the moon - the bakery items are great, we took some with us when we left . I just highlight the hash browns are out of this world! Service was good, place as clean - good chill breakfast and brunch place!
A touch on the pricey side but does not disappoint.
The biscuits and gravy are awesome but this time I got the mile high skillet. Perfect amount of ingredients and cheese to go with the eggs, I could have eaten more! The hash browns are some of the best, perfectly fried, nice and crunchy.

I’ve always loved me some Westtown Bakery. Between the service, the food and all the baked goods I’ve never been disappointed. This morning, though, they really went above and beyond. Our pickup order was maybe 5–10 min behind, the staff brought out treats for the dog, added donuts and a scone for free and couldn’t have been kinder about it. Will always recommend a spot that takes care of their customers
Great coffee. Great service. Great pasty case. You can count on West Town Bakery for a quick and easy breakfast on the weekdays and weekends. I have not tried any of their sit down breakfast entrees but they are packed on the weekends so get there early.
I ordered the breakfast tacos and thoroughly enjoyed them. The hashbrowns were different than I have seen anywhere else but really good! They almost looked like toast at first pass.
Place was packed and tables were a bit tight but great attention from our server and still good vibes inside.
I love West Town Bakery for a quick morning pastry or nice sit-down weekend breakfast. The staff is friendly and the food selection is quite extensive. This is a good option for friends, families, or couples. Highly recommend!
This place SHOCKED me. For an amazing reason in 2023… the portion was way bigger than I expected for the price! When was the last time that happened?!
The breakfast sandwich was phenomenal. Probably 3-eggs-worth, with thick-cut bacon on a freshly baked biscuit. It was way better than I expected. Melted cheese would have taken it over the top.
Verdict - would go back & recommend.
The food is really good and the portions are big. The server was really friendly. The space is like a diner. You must try items from the bakery as they are soooooo good. It's now my go to place on Saturday mornings.
Ever since I first passed the painted windows, I’ve been curious about this place. I walked in and it was buzzing with people hanging out! The bakery is on the opposite side of the diner so you could grab coffee and a pastry (which I wish I did) or get full service dining. I saw some people on their laptops working but I would say to make sure you can tolerate the noise. I would definitely meet up with someone here.
I got the Winchester, iced coffee, and breakfast potatoes. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Winchester, but the iced coffee was decent and the croissant was SO GOOD. Huge, buttery, and holds together without being too flaky.
I added pictures of their Cakeballs— definitely coming back to try those with their coffee! Very accommodating staff. I also think there was one waitress working while I was here. Shout out to Kaitlyn!
West Town Bakery made our wedding cake. It was delicious and dairy free to meet my dietary needs. They were easy to collaborate with when picking the design. I was so happy with how it turned out and the guests loved it. Having the cake tasting was easy with them too. Highly recommend!
Had lunch here. I had the burger, felt like the patties tasted like McDonald's patties. I wasn't impressed. Fries were decent.

I loved their Biscuits and Gravy breakfast plate! Their hash browns are like really thick square patties so just a heads up. We were expecting normal hash browns like the shredded potatoes. For anyone with sensitive teeth, their bacon today was reeeaallyy hard.
We also swung by their bakery section to take some cupcakes home. The chocolate cake was dense and almost brownie texture so not a fan. The buttercream was delicious though!
We expected a bit more pastry options. Cake pops that we got were tasty. Even though they don't do (or didn't do at that time) indoor seating it was still so loud inside, we had to literally yell to place an order. Staff was very friendly and took care of us well.
Loved the baristas! I enjoyed our breakfast. There are options for dine in. I called in my order and got it very quickly. I would love to go back and dine in.
