Wonderful food and very accomodating service. The friendly staff made our family, which includes four kids, very comfortable. Authentic Mediterranean food - fresh ingredients and very tasty! My Palestinian wife was very happy! Amazing that this very authentic restaurant is in area of touristy fast food, not that I don't like Al's Beef. Will definitely travel from 'burbs to enjoy this experience and food again!

We went for a work gathering on a Tuesday night. The place is BYOB, which is amazing since there is a Binny's less than 5 minutes away. We decided we wanted to eat "family style" since there were 8 of us, and the server was awesome and put together 2 giant plates with a bounty of food and rice. Speaking of which, all the meat is cooked to perfection, and the rice is cooked with a "secret ingredient" that makes it absolutely delicious. This place serves up high end quality for a mid-low end prices. Do not hesitate to go if you are in the neighborhood.

Byo place that was a total blast! Go on a Friday/Saturday for the 9PM belly dancing shot. The dancer is phenom and pulls audience members up to dance with her. I went with a group of 12 girls for my birthday and it could not have been a better place to celebrate. So so cheap and the food is pretty good. Warning that they only take 5 credit cards per table and charge a $3 corkage fee per person.

Kan Zaman is a local neighborhood Lebanese restaurant that I stumbled upon shortly after moving to River North. To be honest, the main reason I first tried Kan Zaman was for its proximity to my building. It's nothing too fancy from the outside, but a true delight on the inside. The restaurant features both traditional American seating (tables and chairs) and traditional Lebanese seating (pillows on the floor, short tables). The first night I dined there, they even had a belly dancer who entertained the restaurant to middle-eastern music. Although a but cheesy, it actually added to the ambiance of the space. The food itself is incredibly well done, healthy and well priced. I prefer the chicken schwarma - some of the best I've ever had. The portions are huge and everything, including the hummus and tzatziki, is freshly made. My good friend is Lebanese and I've had his mother (who still lives in Lebanon) cook tons of home-cooked meals for me and Kan Zaman is as good as that. If you're looking for a departure from Chicago-style hot dogs, Al's beef and hamburgers, take a chance on Kan Zaman. #Reviewsday

I've eaten here in a group before and thankfully we had a heads up that you need to byob (a few places in the area so not difficult to do.) That being said we ordered a slew of appetizers to split and I remember loving the hummus, sauteed mushrooms Arayess, and grilled cheese though we had a few others as well. Past that I went easy with a Chicken Shawarma that was delightful and I had a bite of the lambchops which were extremely tasty. Personally I wasn't overly sold on the live entertainment but I was more there for the food and spending time with friends. We noticed after the fact that it seemed like there were family style portions you could order and if we make it out this way again will probably be giving them a try!

What a gem, in the middle of schmancy places in River North! Reasonably priced and vegetarian friendly, Kan Zaman provides a wonderful dining experience. A cozy, clean place with stunning beaded chandeliers and cushion seats. And the belly dancer--the belly dancer! I can't wait to go back.

Being Lebanese I have been searching for a great Lebanese restaurant for forever and then this place magically fell into my lap. It is incredible. Super authentic, fresh and delicious. Their grape leaves rivals my aunts and their tabouli rivals my mothers. Their chicken sharwama and shish tawook is so good- really moist and flavorful!
