The shop is very modern and very spacious. Menu offerings are quite extensive and prepared very quickly with great attention to flavor detail. The service is excellent and speedy and for me, a person with food allergies, they asked specifically of any food allergies and were eager to accommodate. I'll definitely be back...over and over.

Delicious! First time in Chicago, so first time here and it was all amazing. We did the Classic Ramen, which had amazing flavor. We tried the Katsu soup and all the dumplings. Well done. Hope to be back here again.
This place is the BOMB DOT COM! Everything is perfectly balanced in flavor, beautiful to look at and just incredibly good. Thanks Guy DeFazio for showing us the ropes and helping us try the best dishes. We had the sweet potato & maple (vegetarian) dumpings, the classic pork & cilantro dumplings, the pork & pineapple rice, the phat noodle, the AMAZING young coconut chicken pho, maple glazed mini donuts, the vanilla soft serve with soy caramel & chocolate crunch & a couple of cocktails, drinking vinegar, passion fruit lemonade and the Kirin iced beer. WE WILL BE BACK. Over and over and over again. SO AMAZING!!!

my daughter and I went there for the first time and it was great, it was unplanned. Customer service was awesome. I felt bad cause since it was unplanned i didn't have a tip so i counted the change in my purse and left it with a note, it wasn't much at all but we will be returning, the food was great. Comps to the chef...,.,.

Delicious. The Korean fried chicken is breaded perfectly and contains a savory “authentic” flavor. The udon noodles were cooked to the ideal temperature and expanded with delightfully.

I tried to reserve a table ahead of time but OpenTable said there were no tables available. I just decided to go there anyway and try since I was running solo. The place was completely empty and i couldnt see anyone inside because of the black uniforms against the black painted walls, but I tried the door and they were actually open. I guess no customers were there because OpenTable said no reservations were available. I got the Ramen with extra pork on the side. It was very tasty. The pork on the side had a sweet marmalade and was excellent. 5 stars!! Go try UrbanBelly even if Google Table reservations says nothing available! You won't regret it. Delicious Chicken Katsu udon. Very flavorful noodles being both slightly sweet and spicy. Crunchy chicken Katsu crust with juicy chicken meat inside.
UPDATE: The REAL katsu chicken is back! I must have went on a bad day. Or maybe they ran out and replaced with mcchickens. Don't know don't care! We're back in business. See how the crispy breading almost falls off the chicken (last 2 photos)? Perfection. Photos don't do it justice. Restoring all the stars ⭐
THEY CHANGED THE KATSU CHICKEN T___________T. Devastated doesn't even come close. My weekly sustenance for the past 3 years...gone. Whatever they're using now is nothing more than a decorated mcchicken. If you never had the original, you just won't understand. I suppose all good things must come to an end. Still 3 stars because the lemonade is good.
This was my first time trying urbanbelly and in no way did they disappoint. I ordered take out and everything was perfect. Delicious food, special sauces, everything was full of flavor. I want to go into the restaurant next time and order more.
