We were skeptical going in that the food would be anything more than "interesting," but we left very happy! I had the kimchi quesadilla and it was one of the best I've ever had. The servers were very friendly and quick, as well. I would definitely go back.
What a nice little new place! The server we had was so, SO nice, and the food came out quickly. It's also BYOB, which is always a treat.
Here's what I ordered:
Spicy pork taco - amazeballs
kalbi beef- good. Nothing to write home about, but a good, solid, taco.
honey panko shrimp - really nice sweet and tangy blend, glad I ordered.
The Kimchi friend rice was so good, I now think all friend rice should be made with kimchi. end of story. Potato Salad was fine. Not a shining star. More like cold mashed potatoes, and I would probably do without them a second time.
Only knocks to keep it from 5 stars:
-I would have liked my Tortillas to be warmed/toasted- they just seemed like cold corn tortillas which isn't my favorite way to eat them (my finacee said his were warm, so it's also possible maybe mine just cooled down)
-Ambience/decor itself was a little confused. I'll forgive em' since they clearly just opened, but if you prefer your dining experiences to be more than just eating delicious food, it's kinda weird in there- somewhere between a VFW hall, a korean grandma's house with a panache for collecting traditional Korean dolls, and a college dorm room (i'm referring to a giant, light up mustache here).
-Price point is off by .50 a taco in my opinion. Food was really, really good - but you know...it's not quite Big Star (at least yet) so they really don't have any business serving at Big Star prices. Big Star is absolutely the cap on how expensive (and delicious) a taco should and will ever be imo.
There's a new addition to the neighborhood, y'all. Stopped in with a friend to check out the new spot.
I ordered the braised kalhi(sp?) egg roll and my friend devoured multiple tacos with a side of kimchi fried rice and korean potato salad.
The menu is simple and easy to read, the service was prompt and attentive, and the food was delicious.
Pros:
Great food
Great price
BYOB
Attentive service
Cons:
Cash only
Finally...a Korean/Latin fusion place within walking distance and a great addition to Andersonville! I wanted to try everything from the menu...the tacos, the banh-mis, the quesadillas, the kim-chi fries! Since my eyes tend to be bigger than my stomach, I only ordered the Dos Tacos Combo...two tacos with kim-chi fried rice and potato salad. It was still a little too much for my stomach to handle, but I enjoyed every bite of it...the potato salad I wasn't too much a fan of. The tacos I ordered were the kalbi and the kalbi barba Korea...both were very delicious, and so was the kim-chi fried rice. I love anything with kim-chi on it and on that note, I can't wait to try their kim-chi fries! Also, everything else I mentioned. Needless to say, I will be back many more times.
Awesome food and a great menu of Korean fusion choices. Had the kimchi fries, chicken enchilada, and numerous tacos. All are fantastic. Service is so quick, friendly, and helpful!
A wonderfully unique fusion of Korean and Mexican foods. The kimchi fries and bolgogi burrito are two phenomenal dishes to try if you've never been before.
Great fusion here - lots of good taco options and the kimchi fries are so good. Lots of food for a good price. It's BYOB. Also - it's CASH ONLY.
