Just ate there on Sunday and the Chicken Carbonara was terrific -- as usual. My companion had the steak and as a former restaurant manager himself, was impressed with the steak and the sizeable portions. We both took home our leftovers and had enough for the next two days! I've eaten at Bella Vista for over 25 years, both in the restaurant and by delivery and always had a great response and great food.
Delicous. I am personally shocked at the bad reviews. This is a regular place for us. The service has always been excellent. The wait staff go out of their way to get me a table near the fire since I am always cold. Pizza, sandwiches are always great. The best thing on the menu is the pasta with clam sauce. Heaven on a plate!

Worth the drive. Bella Vista has become our new "treat ourselves" eatery. We live in Eagle River and used to frequent one of the local establishments here in town for our nights out on the town but after several lack luster dinners there we set out to find our new regular "fancy" place and we found it in Bella Vista
FOOD
Bella Vista offers a wide range of Italian and Greek selections and best off all the the $10 subs are just as good as the $30 surf and turf. They put just as much effort into the less expensive meal options as they do the high end offerings.
If you're in the mood for steak but don't want to spend $30 try the steak sub. It's a nice size strip steak on a fresh baked roll with fries. Not a bad deal for $13.
I absolutely love the pizza! We like thin crust pizza with a well done, bubbly cheese on top, pizza and that's exactly what we ask for and that's exactly what they give us. I personally think they have the best pizza in the area.
ATMOSPHERE
The smell is WONDERFUL! This place smells exactly like what you'd expect an Italian eatery to smell like. The smell of fresh Italian herbs, surely from the slow simmering marinara sauce, as well as fresh baked bread waft through the air.
We love the authentic Italian atmosphere Bella Vista presents. Classy but not pretentious. If you're there on a cold night you'll surely appreciate the fireplace which is centrally located in the dining area. Definitely helps to warm the cockles of the heart.

We've always had very fast, friendly service. No complaints here.
Fantastic service, great food, wonderful atmosphere, a little pricey but definitely worth it. We will be coming back for sure!
Great Pizza, Good Seafood, Slow Wait Staff. My family and Friends love the Pizza it comes just the way we ask for it. The Wine selection is really good here and the Seafood has always been cooked perfectly. Ive had issues with my Steaks a few times with it not being cooked to my desired well done. It has been under the same Management for years but I am tired of how slow waitresses are with taking orders, getting food, checks, refills.. I like to feel alittle pampered when I pay for a seafood and steak dinner for my family.
Great Pizza, Great Seafood. This place has been around for close to 40 years under same management. The King Crab was excellent both times I had it. Lobster was alittle over cooked. The Premium Steaks have also been cooked to my desired level. The wine selection is very nice! The pizza is handmade from start to finish and is always excellent. If you love great pizza try this place out!! Mooses Tooth doesnt have anything going for it except for the selection of Good Brews.
Burgers are well-seasoned but a little dry, and the pizza is hit-or-miss. When it's good, it's great, though.
Bella Vista holds a special place in my heart. My husband and I spent one of our first dates here a few years ago. From the very first time to many moons later, the food, dining experience, and service is excellent every single time. This past Saturday we ordered grape leaves, panicotta, New York strip steak, and baklava. The steak was a perfect medium rare. Our waitress was sweet and highly attentive the entire evening. Don't skip out on Bella Vista! It's a must have when you're visiting Alaska.

I usually eat here if I have a driver, it is 20 minutes out of Anchorage. If like the wine, and clams. They no longer serve the garlic clam linguine on the menu but they were willing to make it for me. I went for the lasagna for the first time and it blew me away. Yum! Comfort food to the max! Our waitress Diane was a queen to us. She noticed that I was the only one in high spirits for a Friday night. She attended to my exhausted teen like no other. The patrons were kind and gave me the high energy conversation I needed, as it was quiet tonight. We didn't disturb any other diners. It is a very romantic atmosphere, I wouldn't have spoken across the room had it been chock full. I was grateful for the fast, amazing service right before closing on a Friday night. I'll be back, again and a gain.
Bella Vista is a great place if you are looking for a largely Italian/Greek menu. They are apparently know for their mussels but we tried several other dishes. The Eggplant Parmesan and the Chicken Parmesan were both delicious, as was the shrimp dish we ordered. They have wonderful sauces and the portions are always big enough to take home leftovers for lunch the next day. We shared on of their chocolate cake desserts between four of us and didn’t actually finish it. The house wines are all nice with many at just $5 a glass. Angie was fantastic and she made sure our evening was lovely. Their first seatings are crowded but if you can go after 8pm for a later dinner you will be more likely to be seated right away.
I was so happy to find this restraunt when I returned to Alaska after moving away 20 years ago. Same great pizza and family service. They have more than hand made Pizza that begs me to return and try everything on the menu.

Bella Vista has some of the best lasagna, pizza and their chef salad is packed with goodies. I highly recommend a visit!! You will not be disappointed!
The food was amazing. We had Greek calzone and chicken Alfredo. They both had good flavors. The Greek calzone is one for olive lover.

All we ordered was the Pizza so that is all I can speak to. This is one of my top 2 pizza places in Alaska. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going again.
Awesome FRESH Italian food. My favorite aspect about the food is that there was no greasy residue on the plates when we were finished. The portions were satisfying. We left full and happy!

But, big But. Managment need to get their heads on straight to have and serve Fish and Chip, but not have Malt Vinegar. This was the second time coming here ordering the fish and chips and after it being served told sorry we don't have the usual staple to go with the meal. It's like ordering French fries and not serving ketchup. IT WRONG, especially at your price.
Lovely atmosphere, great service, good food, and some of the portions were fine for a light eater. However, they were a little on the skimpy side for a man with a hearty appetite.

I had their pizza, and mozzeralla sticks. I thought it was great food, great price, and great service! I was suprised that it looked a bit empty on a Friday evening during dinner hours but I would definitely recommend this place and eat there again!
