Sotto is an excellent restaurant! I have always personally had AMAZING SERVICE! Which speaks to why I will continue to dine here. I have never had a better experience than here. My husband and I love going here. We love celebrating here. We love introducing others to Sotto.
I appreciate the care that’s taken when you tell them you’re celebrating something special. There aren’t that many places that give this kind of attention to the fine dining experience. It’s always something special we look forward to, even if that means we have to wait until late to eat…worth it every time! #customerforlife
The T bone is exceptional, better than a lot of the steak house. Fish is also good, fresh and tender. Last time we had it, the fish was laying on a bed of beans (same as the octopus salad) this time it was over the side veggie dish. The mozzarella appetizer is nothing special, it’s just a mozzarella ball but it’s $38. Service is good, change plates every course throughout the dinner. We have a family of 8 (2 toddler did not eat much) and two 10yr girls, they love the steak . Short rib ravioli is good as always.
The food is excellent and definitely lives up to the hype. The atmosphere is very romantic, although at our most recent visit, we were seated at a table nearest the kitchen prep area that had an unpleasant odor. We didn't experience this during the previous visit when seated in a different area so hopefully it was just a one off type of thing. I would still highly recommend dining here due to the food and service being incredible!
I have been to Sotto many times, but this is the first for lunch. The quality of good and service are always great. We ordered:
1. Goat cheese, hazel honey, grilled - this a must order dish and so good. The flavors all compliment each other and enhance the dish. (5/5 🌟)
2. Polenta - this was a delightful dish with great flavors. It had one note on texture but overall very good. (4.5/5 🌟)
3. Picchiapo - While the visual appearance of the pasta is questionable, this dish is packed with robust flavors. Overall, I enjoyed and would order again. (4.5/5 🌟)
4. Cappellacci - executed well and tasty. This is a go-to order for several in our group. I would recommend eating this before the Picchiapo as the flavors are daintier and more subtle. (4.5/5 🌟)
5. Breaded pork loin - please don't sleep on this dish. This is my favorite pork chop ever at this point in life. The prep on the pork chop is perfection, and the paired sauce is soo good. Order this every time you go. 🔥 (10/5 🌟)
Love Sotto and visit whenever we can swing reservations and a night out.
This is one of the best restaurants I have visited. The atmosphere, service, food and attention to detail is impeccable. We tried so many food options in one meal. From cocktails to desert the experience was phenomenal. Wine menu is is all Italian wines which is unique.
Went to celebrate a life event. Grateful for the valet which is $12. My reservation started right on time. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere is very romantic, dinner my candlelight. I chose everything that my server suggested which was a good choice, the food was amazing. Heads up, the portions are on the small side, so you might want to order a salad or appetizer. Next time I’ll get the porterhouse steak. Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
Beautiful restaurant with fantastic service! The food was perfectly seasoned and wonderful from start to finish. We loved the campanelle con pesto and the ricotta donuts were a great sweet treat! We also loved the patate and the bread starter!
We had a really delicious meal here. I recommend having a reservation. Our server was very engaged. Our appetizer of groat cheese toast was AMAZING and so unique! My pasta was the thing of dreams - never eaten more perfectly cooked to al dente pasta. The potato side was delish. My husband enjoyed his choice too. Portions are on the smaller size, but extremely decedent. My husband enjoyed his wine, but I ask for a recommendation forine from our server and it was very strange and is not something I would order again. A little to barn-y for me. All in all, we would definitely return for the food!
10/10 overall! The place, the style, the service & the food! Excellent! We ordered a decent amount of food to share and every single thing was so good!
Sotto, tucked into a brick walled basement lair, has the best Cacio e Pepe in the country. That’s a fact, no doubt. I’ve tried many, as my belly proves. Sotto is a wonderful restaurant, with a great bar. Service is efficient, if not particularly warm.
This was a return visit to Cincinnati after eight years. Sotto was a must visit.
As soon as we stepped in the door the experience engulfed us. The location and atmosphere is outstanding. Our server, Corrine, was amazing and explained the entirety of the menu to us in detail. The food, all of it from appetizer to dessert was top notch.
This place is as good as the reviews say! Oh yummy x10! We had drinks, appetizers and pasta. Service (sat at the bar) was impeccable and the food was divine. Seriously lick your plate good.
We had the fettunta and mozzarella di bufalo and for pasta had cappellacci and linguine alle vongole
We had the tuna starter, the goat cheese/honey starter, the black kale Ceasar salad, clam pasta, short rib pasta, quail, fish and the donuts. All of it was amazing! The atmosphere is so interesting. Would definitely recommend!
One of the best Italian pastas I have had outside of Italy. Service was super slow and ambiance was very loud.
If you are craving a good pasta, just make a reservation and be prepared to spend a few hrs.
This is literally some of the best pasta I've ever had in my life, my partner who went with me has been to Italy several times and says that that's still some of the best pasta she's ever eaten. I wasn't a huge fan of the greens, but seeing that I didn't eat much, the waiter actually removed it from my bill since I didn't like it. The cocktails were lovely, the environment was beautiful, and it was overall a wonderful time that I look forward to driving back to Cincinnati to experience again.
From the moment we were greeted until we left, our entire experience at Sotto was perfection. We started with the goat cheese, hazelnut honey, grilled bread, followed by cappellacci - short rib, shallot, thyme and finished with the ricotta doughnuts. Special mention has to be made to our waitress Corinne who took the time to walk us through the entire menu. Her knowledge and overall passion for the food is to be commended. Sotto was so good, we went twice while in town.
Totally worth the hype! My husband and I shared a salad, two entrees, and two desserts and they were all incredible. Our waitress was so kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t go wrong with any of the cocktails either!
