Went for 12th Anniversary dinner. It was awesome (we sat at the bar). Everyone from hostess, waitress, bartender and owner were very friendly and knowledgeable. Watched the expediter and pizza cook communicate with other cooks so our pasta and wood-fired pizza dishes would come out together, hot and delicious ( e.g. Pizza "will be ready in 27 seconds"). They took great care in the quality and presentation of the food as well as customer satisfaction.
Atmosphere is awesome... rich wood & brick textures, antique lighting with views into the rustic kitchen with awesome well worn butcher blocks etc….
Wonderful craft beer tap list. The Stuffed cherry pepper app was fresh and delicious. The house made tortellini w portobello mushrooms and savory brown sauce was delicious as well as the wood fired pizza w zucchini blossoms!
Blank Slates' Ryesing Up Saison paired up well with all three dishes! It's light refreshing lemon zest, grape, and spicy aromas exhibit Spring and heighten the rustic Italian farm feel at Forno Osteria. The spicy phenol and peppercorn flavors, light biscuit and caramel malt notes lift the spicy-sweet cherry peppers and balances the salty-Unami anchovy stuffing. Those same notes elevate the stuffed tortellini with a rich Unami brown sauce while Ryesing Up's crisp, dry finish cuts through the fat and salt of the silky rich smoky cheese stuffing. Ditto for the Saison's pairing complementing the herbal zucchini notes and cutting the salty/fat cheese richness of the pizza.
Forno was such a pleasant surprise for the two of us! We went in thinking our experience would be mediocre at best. Lucky for us, it was the COMPLETE opposite. We started with the Asparagus and Black Truffle Risotto, one word, heavenly! I had the gnocchi and it was divine! I don't remember what my boyfriend had, I just know it consisted of wild boar with a cinnamon-y flavor. I had a bite, it didn't disappoint. Lastly, we ended with their Pope's Chocolate Salame dessert. Best part, hands down. It was literally the best dessert I've ever eaten. Our server, Delia (spelling?) was so fun, personable, and knowledgeable! She really made the experience memorable, with her lovely charm and energetic personality! She had so many nice things to tell us about the place and the owner! We loved her, she was such a joy. We are industry people and this is what we look for in our food and our service. Thank you Delia, chef's, and all who make the standards at Forno what they are. We will be back!
Non-pretentious, fantastic food. In fact, I'd say best Italian food you will find outside of Europe. I can definitely notice the northern Italian touch, as many dishes are staples at my Milanese family's dining table. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu. The menu rarely changes, but each time, I find exciting additions. Also many great options for vegetarians.
A beautiful evening on the patio and a fabulous dinner. Great service and delicious food. But the highlight was the Heirloom Tomato Salad, truly the perfect meal all on its own. One of the best dishes I have ever eaten.
The googootz pie was amazing! Where else can you get veal and wild boar in Cincinnati? Nowhere but Forno! Great staff and excellent food! We will be back!
Went there for Brunch yesterday. I got the Pancakes and my girlfriend got the Crocca Signore. Both were absolutely fantastic. Would definitely go back. One fellow patron (not with our party) complained about their bacon. What kind of heartless monster can complain about bacon? It's bacon! Besides that, 5 STARS!
one of the best places to eat in Cincinnati! Friendly service, always! and the food is spectacular!!! Yah Christian!!
Always incredible--service, food, atmosphere. Consistently great!!! Best Italian restaurant I've found in Cincinnati.
Sunday Brunch was one the the best restaurant experiences I've had while in the Cincinnati area. My family loved the pancakes and the Crocca Signore was amazing. High quality food and outstanding service.
Had an amazing meal there last night. Great salads, particularly the heirloom tomato. Also loved the spaghetti arrabiata and the lamb entree. But the pastries may have been the highlight. Basil panna cotta was the best I've ever had. Cristian and Amanda have done a really wonderful job getting Forno up and running at such a high level so quickly.Really thrilled to have Forno in the neighborhood. JS
My favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. Staff are incredible, food is amazing, and ambiance is so relaxing and romantic! We're there every other weekend and have loved everything on the menu.
I travel for Neapolitan pizza & I was excited to try Forno. Good layout, atmosphere, & excellent service. However, the meatballs were pretty good, but the portion seemed quite small & the pizza looked amazing, but was lacking on many levels. First of all, it was very salty, and the crust basically had no flavor. The place was packed & I wish them well!
We tried a some pasta, a salad and the minestrone soup. Soup was the best! Pasta was good, but after seeing everyone’s pizzas, I wish I had ordered one of those.
They have bar seating and you can watch their culinary team prepare the dishes, which we really enjoyed. The place was pretty busy on a Friday night. We’ll definitely be back.
There were no parking spaces in the small lot out front so we had to park down the road a bit. Could be something to consider if one’s mobility is limited.
Solid spot in Hyde Park. The octopus and fingerling potatoes slapped. Place has a cool feel on the inside, and I would definitely recommend as a top notch Italian eatery. The pizza is really good quality and has great dough. I liked the gnocchi, but not my favorite in town. The risotto was also fire. Really cannot go wrong here. Great food, environment, and the staff are really nice. You can sit at the bar too and watch the back of house do their thing, which is always cool. I would eat that octopus and potatoes like 5x over. It was sooooo tasty and the prices here are very fair.
This was a pretty lovable place to grab some Italian food on a late Friday night. They're popular, but you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a reservation a week in advance. The wine selection is very solid and they recommend pairings with every entree. The arancini was a very enjoyable start to the meal; that subtly spicy sauce blended well with it. The grilled swordfish was tender, juicy, flavorful, and had a nice crust. The pasta and sauce were also excellent; I'd give that plate a 9/10. I've eaten at the Montgomery Forno location and had a positive experience. I'd be more than happy to dine at this location again too.
So delicious! Took myself here and had an amazing time. Allen was my server and he was the sweetest! Wine, pizza, and caesar were delicious. Will be returning!
Our party of four had a reservation for 6:15 on a Friday night on the patio. It was a gorgeous evening and their patio was comfortable (not too big; maybe 6 tables). Our server was attentive and took good care of us. We ordered the bruschetta sampler, which was very good. I ordered the margarita pizza and wished it was a bit more done; it was kind of soggy in the middle, but the flavor was good.
Our friends ordered the pasta bolognese and said it was very good.
Ordered tiramisu for dessert. It was on the small side, and tasted okay.
Overall I think the atmosphere is great, the service attentive, and the food is good. Maybe a bit on the pricey side.
We had the best time here! Located in a great area with lots of things to do. Had no reservation and only a maybe 20 minute wait. We went for a walk in the nice neighborhood close by while we waited.
There was also a pub, a Mediterranean Cafe and Thai restaurant next door.
Forno has Indoor and outdoor seating available. Wonderful atmosphere all around. I was very happy with my view of the brick pizza oven!
The host was great and called me as soon as there was an open table. Our server was perfect, very attentive.
I had a margarita and diet coke(:
For an appetizer we picked the goat cheese and chestnut honey bruschetta, amazing. We ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese and it was to die for! A real must have. I believe we had the Calabrese pizza, any pizza here is a winner.
The food was spectacular and I will be bringing my mom here ASAP. Can’t wait to go back.
Good service and great ambiance. We had the Bruscetta sampler - the goat cheese topped one was amazing! The Caesar salad is a solid pick - the dressing was just right. The Salsiccia e Cipolla pizza was average, whilst the Elena pizza was great and highly recommended - the truffles on that pizza really stood out.
Quaint place. You do feel like you are sitting at someone else's table because so close. Octopus was tasty. The veal was a bit over cooked. The cod was tasty but small. Cauliflower au gratin is worth it. Overall I'd like to give it a 3.5 but there isn't that one.
Great little place, we can't wait to come back when we're in town again. Octopus was excellent, as were our entrees. Also, Kaitlyn was an awesome server!
We had the Bolognese, gnocchi, and pizza. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The service and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be back.
Staff and food were amazing. They allowed us to split the gnocchi, Bolognese, and Short rib so we could try it all. Great atmosphere as well.
Absolutely delicious. Service front to end was outstanding, and the food was the same. We got Bolognese, and a truffle/arugula pizza, each one was one of the best versions of the dish that we have ever eaten. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Super accommodating with changes that I made to the reservation. The server and the G.M., made our experience awesome and were so sweet to my Mom in making her belated birthday dinner an exceptional night. By the way, the food was freakin delicious and if we were in Italy, I am sure it would come close to what we had at the restaurant.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Forno Restaurant truly offers an unparalleled dining experience! From the delectably crispy pizza to the fresh Caesar salad, every bite was a revelation. The bruschetta and artichokes were impeccable in flavor, and paired perfectly with their extensive selection of beer and wine. To top it all off, the tiramisu was the perfect end to a memorable meal. The service was top-notch, making us feel welcomed and valued. I wholeheartedly recommend Forno to anyone seeking the pinnacle of culinary delight. Spectacular in every way!
The food at Forno Osteria + bar is very good. The red sauce is full of flavor and I recommend spaghettini Arraabbita. The environment of metro industrial and a bit loud for those with hearing loss. I gave them a 4 stars because they were very slow and charging $6 for bread at a $$$$ restaurant is a bit insulting.
