Service, drink and food were all top notch. Ate at the bar downstairs for better conversation atmosphere. Bartender happy to accommodate any changes to their recipes, although house margarita was plenty good for me! Excellent guacamole and tacos for dinner. A visit from the owner convinced us dessert was on our list, and it was perfect wrap up for the meal. I will be heading back soon!!
Been hearing great things about the place, so my mom and I finally checked it out. The food was really good!! The service was superb, and I loved the ambiance of the place. Good vibes and awesome art around the place. 100% recommend.
Myself and a group of friends visited for my birthday. There was a total of 12 of us. We made a error in our reservation, but they easily accommodated us.
The outdoor seating and patio are fantastic. No smoking is allowed on the property. Even though I am a smoker, I still appreciate this.
Do miss a chance to walk the house either. The artwork and decor are great. We sat on the third floor in a private area.
Our bar drinks did take some time along with our food order. However we were a large group so I'm sure that played a factor. GET THE DUCK TACO!!!! With the size of our party I think we managed to try them all. Do skip out of the guacamole is so freaking good
I went in for dinner today and had a wonderful time. My dad and I had queso. Chips were perfect and crispy enough to not break when you dip them. I had the envelope crunch - chicken and it was cooked to perfection. So unique! My dad had the steak with Brussels
Sprouts! We topped it off with churros! Oh and the drinks were great! Service was great, decor was amazing and it made for a great night out. Thanks for a wonderful evening! Char - our waitress - was top notch!
New menu! Roasted beet and pistachio salad, street corn, lobster taco, amazing! Great staff, one of the coolest places in town!
How can you go wrong with margs on tap?
This is my new favorite spot in the city, if you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. With heather running this marvelous place and John (bartender) stealing the show, they are eager to please - you won’t be disappointed!
Absolutely phenomenal. Until eating here, I never realized I'd been going to subpar Mexican restaurants my entire life. This is the best Mexican inspired cuisine I've ever had. The presentation was wonderful, the service was on point, and the environment was undeniably unique. I'm genuinely excited to recommend this gem of a restaurant to my acquaintances.
Cool little neighborhood taco place in Pleasant Ridge! Great patio, good drink selection and tasty food. The tacos are a little pricey but for their size, it's slightly justifiable. All in all, I recommend for good food and a fun night out.
Delicious farm to table. Excellent options if you have allergies. I was able to enjoy chocolate gf churros for the first time in over ten years! The Cauliflower Taco was superb. Friendly and helpful staff. Fun, hip decor inside a former house. We'll definitely be back soon.
Pleasant Ridge has become one of our go-to neighborhoods. In addition to Nine Giant and Revolution Rotisserie, we recently discovered the Latin inspired cuisine of Casa Figueroa. Located in an old house on Montgomery Road, you might drive right past it if coming from the south. It sits back off the road and hides behind the Everybody's Records building. But that allows for a large patio out front, which is where my wife and I sat to enjoy a dinner out.
We both started with the House Margarita ($7 on happy hour), and while these were delicious, I really enjoyed the spicy margarita I ordered for my second drink.
We also started with guacamole and chips ($6). The guac was made fresh and was delicious!
For dinner, I had the Armadillo Crunch with chicken ($15). This is similar to the turtle at Gomez, or the crunchwrap from Taco Bell, with a corn tostada surrounded by a flour tortilla and grilled. There was plenty of chicken inside, with the addition of pico, lettuce, and a nice aioli sauce. It was served with a side of rice and beans, which were really good.
My wife went with a couple of taco choices. The Florida shrimp were fried and served with pineapple salsa and avocado crema ($7). The chicken fajita was served with green mole, roasted poblano, onions, red bell peppers, pepitas, and cotija ($7). I stole a bite of the fajita and it was delicious and not like anything I've had before.
We had a great meal at Casa Figueroa and look forward to returning in the future. The prices are a little higher than other more traditional Mexican restaurants, but the quality of the food and the variety was worth the extra cost.
Delicious food, in a cool setting. Great options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Menu is on the expensive side, but the fantastic flavors and generous portions will have you leaving very satisfied.
This place is a gem! Drinks were fantastic! I only had chips guac and cheese dip with chrizo and it was delicious. Check it out!
Reasons to go: craft tacos, the beet salad (and other foodie treats), lovely drinks, homemade lemonade, and upstairs decor. Outdoor seating as well, and plenty of free parking. Worth the trip.
Terrific food. Somewhat pricey but excellent. Interesting cocktails and good beer. I usually say no onions or Pico but this was terrific.
Our server was outstanding Vanessa. From the minute we walked in the door the host was warm and friendly
even though they had no tables without a reservation they accommodated us. Food was outstanding the price point is amazing as well. everything is wonderful the decor is really cool to look at . We did not have alcohol but will next time we will try the margarita. Highly recommend this place for couples for groups and individuals.
Finally made it over to Casa Figueroa last night. Snagged a couple of seats at the bar before a [surprising] bustling Tuesday night crowd hit. The GM, David, was pinch-hit bartending when we arrived--the house margarita was simply perfect. Guacamole was excellent and fresh, and the main was delicious, as well. They have a great selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. They source most of their food locally and organic, when possible, so the somewhat higher prices for menu items did not phase us. We like knowing where our food comes from :) Great service, friendly atmosphere, and cozy ambiance. We will definitely be returning. Can't wait to work our way through the menu!
Yum .. just yum. We had a slight mishap getting in the front door(it was locked), a slight delay in being seated (they were just opening upstairs) and then the food was so amazing nothing else mattered. We did the guacamole and mussels to start. The tacos were so amazing. And you have to try the house made ginger ale. Definitely place that needs to be visited often!
This dining experience was perfect. While some may not like all of the items, their menu caters to all without being too complex. Service was amazing and the people were authentic. The owner actually took the time to engage in conversation with us, sharing her inspiration, while showing us the restaurant. It felt good to dine in a place where people cared about us and we enjoyed the experience.
Second time eating here. Amazing food and drinks. Excellent service. Beautiful environment filled with love and great Artistic ambience. Superb selection for Vegetarian, Meat lover's offered meat from organic farmer's, Vegan astounding dishes, black beans, beets and more from ancient seed farmer's and incredible presentation. Love this rare place that offers fresh food made perfectly.
Great food! Gluten free friendly and the margaritas are really good! I enjoyed the calimari and their guac is really good
Really enjoyed our first visit. The owner came up to our table and thanked us for coming. Staff was friendly, funny and helpful. Place is fun. Outside is great. Drink selection done well. Food not the usual Mexican. Very creative, tasty and we'll presented. Will be back.
From walking in the door to finishing our meal all smiles kindness and fab service! The food is outstanding!. The newly expanded menu is so yummy! The Casa salad, the guacamole, clamari, pan seared scallops and all the tacos to die for! Must try. Atmosphere casual and fun!
