Stopped here for lunch before heading to nearby American Sign Museum. We were first lunch customers and sat for about ten minutes before anyone appeared from the back. Our server finally brought us menus and some drinks and took our orders. We ordered a couple of the soup of the day Spicy Black Bean Soup. The a Bos Topped Salad, Tuna Melt, the Deep Fried Chicken Sandwich and a Rodeo Burger. The soup was delicious as was the Chicken Sandwich. The Salad and Burger were good but, the Tuna Melt was just okay. The fries were like the burger were cool by the time they were served. If in the area again, we would possibly stop in again but we wouldn’t make a special effort to come back.

In from Texas for work and wanted a good local spot for our team. We called ahead to see if they had plugs to charge our computers and the hostess reserved a table for us. After chatting with the staff we learned they are under new management and they are fantastic. We had the spinach salad, hamburger, tuna melt, and the chili. All the meals were fantastic and our server was wonderful. We would gladly return.

We were there for the group that was playing that night. There was another large group outside and service was not perfect but was good. The bartender did her best and a applaud her efforts. In the beginning felt like we didn't exist in this place. First time it ever happened there. Still recommend it for food and drinks.

Self-seating, service was quick and efficient with a laid back atmosphere. The new potatoes were really good. They are fried and tossed in a special seasoning. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty

We ordered the Boz chicken topped salad, and sweet potato fries... The salad was very good, with red onion, hard boiled egg, cranberries, tomatoes, and croutons over a mixed greens salad. The only thing that was less than par was the chicken was supposed to be blackened, but didn't seem to have any blackening spice on it, and was not very hot... The sweet potato fries were awesome...hot and sweet, and perfectly crisp! The bartender was the "man of the hour" considering he was the only server/bartender, and the place was hopping! Still, he was friendly, and got our food out in a timely manner... Very nice evening!

Very good wings ! They're large sized too. I ordered curbside and was taken care of just as if I was inside. I'll be back to try some other items on the menu. 👍 On this March '22 visit I ordered the meatloaf and fries. Nice sized portion of meatloaf , but I found it bland. Salt and pepper helped it , but in needs some extra flavoring when it's mixed up. My fries needed to be a little more done, but still tasted ok. Ice tea was great ....fresh and light..the way I like it. I like Boswell's, but I think I'll go back to wings next visit.

We love going to Boswell's. It's a long lived, cozy tavern and restaurant in Northside where you can sit at the bar, high top or regular height, tables, or on their nice outdoor patio with landscaping to enjoy. Menu is basically pub and grub, but with an extensive sandwich list and sometimes specials like ribs or holiday platters. They often have family friendly live music, and keep the volume to a level where conversations can easily also continue. Because the historic building has steps to the entrance, handicap access is harder to manage for those with walkers or wheelchairs, but I believe you can call to request accomodations in advance for a little ramp to go through their much easier to use side door. The antique building gives it very nice, unique atmosphere with some local art on the walls. But while you may see local musicians and artists eating in the joint, this is no hipster bar. Boswell's team hails from the West Side and is always so welcoming to our family. When we haven't been around for a while, they make sure we're doing okay. We often see other families and clubs of people enjoying group meals together here, because they have a nice wide selection of food and always put in the time to care about regulars. Even for carryout, they also have the biggest, crispiest chicken wings in Cincinnati with some of few remaining reasonable prices in town.

I go to Boswell's for various things, numerous times a week. My wife and I go other places too but Boswell's is our default. It's a warm friendly place with good food and drink. My wife and I have built numerous friendships there and they go out of their way to satisfy you. They work hard to have pretty good live music there as well, and never with a cover charge. That's pretty exceptional for a little place like Boswell's. It's kind of like stepping onto the set of Cheers. At Boswell's, like most small businesses, you can expect warm and friendly service by default. I know from years of experience that if something is not right Mike and Jan will work to make it right, just like most owners will. What do we eat at Boswell's? It's all good but I think the Reuben's are pretty special, as is the tuna salad, along with their omelets in the mornings. There's always something good. The other night I had marinated pork chops that were quite tasty. It's all good!

Overall Boswell's was a nice place. The atmosphere was great, staff very friendly and the food was good. It has a nice local bar feel. We sat inside but there is a nice patio area in the back with fire pits that could make for an enjoyable evening. I only gave 4 stars because we were there with a large party, had made a reservation ahead of time and told there would be plenty of kitchen help to take care of us. There were 2 people in the kitchen (looked to be a cook and a dishwasher) and our food came out over the course of about 40 minutes. It didn't totally ruin the night but it was very frustrating to have people finished with their food before half of the table even got served theirs. I'd go back there but I wouldn't go with more than (maybe) 6 people if I was going to eat.

Under new ownership, come check it out! We had the loaded tots, chicken sandwich and burger. Fantastic! Great and attentive service! New vendors for meat and it is fire! Get in here! I apologize in advance for the length of this post. So. I've waited over a week to share this because I wanted to give myself a chance to cool off. Last Wednesday, I invited 14 of my Pickleball friends to my favorite bar, Boswell's, after play. When we got there, there were 2 people inside and 3 outside on the patio. We chose to dine on the patio. I have had issues in the past with service there but continued to return because I kept hoping the service would get better. Not that night. We cleaned our own tables, got our own menus and silverware and at the end of the evening had to tell him what we had so he could cash us out at the bar. Did I mention he neglected to put my order in? Everyone was finishing up when I went to check on my food. Needless to say, I didn't tip well. He sarcastically thanked me for coming in. I informed him that I tip on service. He then called me a c@nt, rhymes with bunt, and said he was banning me from the bar and would never serve me again. I informed him that he hadn't served me that night or the last 2 times I'd been in. His idea of service has been neglectful, at best. I contacted the owner and when she asked what she could do to make the situation better, I requested that she fire him. She did not do so. I have been a regular customer at Boswell's for over a decade. I have too much respect for myself to continue to give my hard earned money to a business that continues to employ someone who would treat a solid customer that way. Do with this information what you will but I had to let people know what happened to me. We deserve better than this. P.S. I have a witness who saw and heard this entire interaction.
