It's Christmas and we're sick so no cooking for us. Ordered a timed pickup. Food was hot and freaking delicious! The crab ragoon had actual filling in them which most places skimp anymore. The veggie rolls were good. My main meal Shrimp Chow Mei Fun. I have now found my new Chinese place, thank you!
Best Chinese I've had in the area by far. 4 stars not 5 because this is based off one experience of limited selection. Nothing was wrong with it. Quality food with normal human portions.
Only qualm is that the Chinese donuts were merely sitting in the sugar not really coated in it.
Very tasty Chinese food. The food was prepared quickly. It was much better than what I have had at the big chain Chinese restaurant in the area. Definitely worth giving it a try.
Our food tasted great but my chicken in the sesame chicken was stringy and tough!
Johnny Chan is my go to Chinese carry out restaurant in the area! I’ve been going for years and have never been let down. The food is consistent and made fresh to order. Highly recommend!
Great food, and not insanely expensive like a lot of places have become
My family and I came to Ohio for a trip and we heard great things about Johnny Chan. The first time we ordered from there the food was great and so tasty! For the price the portions were great and there were no mistakes for any of my family’s orders. We decided to go back on our last day and it was still really good but they messed up my order:/ I didn’t go back and complain but it said on my receipt that I didn’t want certain things in my meal. Otherwise, it’s really good and pretty inexpensive.
The food is good. The eat in space sucked and the restaurant was full of boxes. No fountain drinks, and I thought it was tacky that they don't give the fortune cookies out for free with the meal. The bathroom was also out of order so that was annoying. But the food was hot and fresh so I will keep them at 4 stars. It would be a fine place to order to go.
I have tried so many Chinese restaurants in the area, coming from Kansas City MO, I hadn’t found any I like. However, Johnny Chans is a game changer for me. Their food tasted clean not greasy oily, didn’t sit heavy on the stomach and more importantly it tastes great. The egg drop soup is perfect, the Lo Mein is excellent, and the crab Rangoon’s were on target. Found my local Chinese restaurant of choice. Great Work!!
I am so impressed by his poker skills
Woman who helped us was friendly and went out of her way to get our order correct. Food was delicious! I didn't take a pic because I had eaten it all before I remembered to take one. Chicken chow mein and pineapple chicken were excellent. Thumbs High! 👍
I moved here from the Chicagoland area and I have a high standard for Asian food. I’ve tried every Chinese restaurant in the area. This is the most delicious Chinese food by far. No other restaurant comes close, it’s a must try.
UPDATE (2021): Just dropped by since I was in town this month. Everything I’ve said here still rings true.
Have been ordering from this place for the past five years, and even with the change in owners, the place has stayed the same. Very good quality good and in good quantity for the affordable price, relatively hygienic compared to the stereotypical dirty Chinese takeout you might be afraid of. The fried chicken, lo mein, and egg drop soup is my family’s go-to’s.
TIPS:
- English isn't the best (they make up for it with food). Be clear and concise about what you want and answer with a simple yes or no.
- Don't eat in. I think they're able to keep things so affordable because their dine-in place is... not updated, let's say. They're clean but the five stars I'm giving isn't because of the ambiance nor the location.
Their dumplings are so good.. and they have the best hot and sour soup I have EVER had. :). They are very clean, and food is definitely tasty!!
Our favorite, go-to place for Chinese takeout. Food is always fresh and hot, chicken is moist with large pieces, lo mein is packed with veggies, and crab rangoon are the best around!
Best authentic Cantonese pan fried noodles in town. Be adventurous and enjoy great cuisine above and beyond lo mein and sweet and sour chicken. Go beyond eggrolls and egg foo young but strike out for the special eggplant dishes and spicy authentic tofu entrees. This restaurant has served great and authentic Chinese for over 20 years and still going strong. Got "hei" or "huohao" that is hot wok spirit.
We ordered 3 entrees and 4 appetizers for carry-out and they are all very good. Especially the crab rangoons and chicken with string been. The carry out food we ordered always turn out consistently good and my kids love their food!
I'm here at least once a week with no plans to change that. The focus is definitely food and not atmosphere. As it should be.
