Dean's Homestyle Cafe is a quaint & comfortable place, very welcoming & the food is fresh &
delicious. As out of towners, we ate breakfast there several times & enjoyed every meal. I especially recommend the blueberry pancakes. Would definitely recommend, they have something for everyone!

This place has great food (all of it is great), BIG portions, low prices, and amazing warm, funny, very welcoming staff! You can come alone and not feel alone... You can come with a big group and they will just add that extra spice to the group. THANK YOU guys for always making my breakfast/lunch time so enjoyable... And welcoming my friends...
Dean's has been our favorite since we discovered about 15 years ago. There food is awesome, their prices very reasonable, their staff entertaining and friendly, and most of the time the place can't hold the crowd. But most feel it is just fine to wait a bit for your table. While waiting have a cup of coffee or soda and it can be put on your order. Friendly customers too
This place is great! All the food was delicious with enormous portions at a very reasonable price. The establishment has such a homey feel and the staff was very friendly! We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Oregon!
Very friendly service and very good food. It used to be Clackamas House back in the early 1990's. Only bad thing is they only take cash or checksbut the food is so worth it
Love this place when I’m in town! Good food, large portions and friendly staff!

Best food around clackamas. Fell like I was home. Rib-eye. Soft exelent flavor loved
I had diced ham and scrambled eggs with hash browns and sour dough toast. It was so delicious. First time me and my family went in there was today and we will definitely be going back again! Kids are all of their food, yummy French toast with sausage links and eggs. Rion had biscuits and gravy! Service was wonderful and I love grandma at the check out register. Family owned and great family feel to it.
My family and I love eating at Deans. You know it's good eats when the parking lot is always packed and there is a small wait. The list moves quickly but you can still grab a cup of coffee while you wait if you want. The plates are ALWAYS piled high with delicious food, and the service is excellent!! Deans is definitely my favorite breakfast spot. ❤🍳🥓
Great little hole-in-the-wall place, friendly and excellent food and I left full.
Deans place is amazing. Not only is the food great, the service is too! I love to bring my friends and family there when they visit!! They love it just as much as me.
Food is amazing great place for breakfast
Good people
Great place, great food, and great staff!! Merry Christmas to you all
Omg, this place is amazing!! The biggest omelette ever, great service.
Some of the best food I have found around! Drive there just for breakfast!!!!
I had the BEST patty melt and tater tots at Dean's! Come hungry because the portions are very generous. This is a laid back cafe in an old house and the owner is the cook. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Love this place. Darling architecture, amazing food and good people. This is how breakfast used to be served in restaurants. We even ate at the counter so we could bypass the wait line. Really delicious food. Love your kindness Rosemary!
this is the best...especially if that skinny dude..serves...the food , atmosphere... and the brunette boss is there...just wonderful.. would like to go there everyday. i tell people , you must eat at DEANS...and , tip well, because i dont. PS, dont mess with grandma the cashier , or we ll have a little talk... ok?
Really great wait staff and service. Average food. I'm getting really tired of restaurants (especially those focusing on breakfast) that don't have a real butter option. I don't eat margarine- it's fake and disgusting. At least give us the option of using real butter. Unfortunately they probably use margarine to cook with as well, so it's almost unavoidable. Sorry about the rant...anyway, the food is average here, margarine or not.
Great food at reasonable prices!
Maybe what we ordered. I went here this morning for breakfast with my girlfriend and my mother. The restaurant has a very cozy and homey feel about it. Heck, it's a house that had been turned into a restaurant. The staff was super prompt and friendly. I really liked that our coffee cups were never empty. The prices for a sit down meal were very reasonable and the portions were large. My mother got the Denver omelette and wasn't even able to eat half of it. She really enjoyed her breakfast. However, my friend and I ordered the same meal, biscuits and gravy, and we both and upset stomachs afterwards. The gravy was very salty. Maybe it was just our luck because nothing happened to my mom.
I've been here three times now, and I'm definitely gonna go back. I've enjoyed myself every time :) comfortable atmosphere and good food for great prices!
Great breakfast! Low prices! Awesome coffee! friendly waiter! The outside of the building does not do the food inside justice. First time there but will go back. Large, generous portions. We will split an omelet or pancakes next time. Huge!
Great food. This place is the best place breakfast we had on our visit to Oregon!!! It's small and you may have to wait but the people our so nice and friendly and the food so good it is WELL worth the wait. Family owned and operated.
Highly recommend !!!!!!!!!!
BEST Breakfast in Portland Metro. Just had breakfast at Dean's. What a great place.
Family run by friendly Mom, son (Dean), grandson (the guy in the pic), and other friendly staff.
Vegetarian omelet covered the entire plate! Coffee never less than 1/2 full before being refreshed.
Could have finished the breakfast, but I'd be heading toward the next size up in clothes. Took leftovers home instead and with a salad, I'm pretty much covered for lunch and dinner.
Ample portions, great price, nice folks.
There's a reason this place is packed.
The staff is extremely friendly even though the place is super busy! I had to wait a bit longer for my chocolate milk, but the waiter brought a size up and took it off of our bill to apologize. Awesome service and great breakfast. :)
Dean's is one of the great breakfast places. I love their Sunday morning eggs Benedict. This has been one of my daughter's and my favorite "girl's" morning out place.
A standout steak and eggs lunch. Was in the area for a business meeting and after consulting the urbanspoon mobile app, wheeled on in. No wait due to fortunate timing as the place was packed. Went for the steak and eggs and was very favorably impressed! I'd really like to get back here to try the Philly Cheese Steak omelet. It looked AWESOME. My dining neighbor had one and had I been able to trade him a bite or six I would have! Based on a single visit I'll rate Dean's 7.5 on the Reliable scale!
LOVE this place. The portions are huge - the staff is amazing. We love to go here for breakfast. They are very popular, so there may be a wait - but it is worth it. We always have leftovers to take home.
Might as well ask for a box when you order. I had the Dean's Special omelette, and it was the HUGEST omelette I've had in a while. I have a pretty good apetite, but it was all I could do to finish off the omelette and one of the two pieces of sourdough toast. The hashbrowns are in a box. But the omelette was a well-balanced combo of bacon, sausage, onions, mushrooms, with molten cheese tying it all together. For a Friday morning, the place was full, but the staff got me seated as quickly and efficiently as possible. Since the restaurant is essentially the "living room" and back room of a residential house, there isn't much waiting room, but the front porch is covered. I'm not in the area for breakfast very often, but I'd come again, with the knowledge I'll be bringing part of my meal home with me.
Homestyle Country Service Service doesn't get any better than this. I have no idea how these servers are so happy and friendly all the time. I go to deans probably more than my waistline approves of but I can't stay away. This is not the spot for you if your on a diet or are a serious food snob. The food here is nothing fancy but the portions are massive. I love the atmosphere and enjoy every meal.
Great restaurant. This is a great restaurant. The service was excellent and the food cooked to perfection.
The place was packed on Friday morning but we were seated and served within 20 minutes of arrival.
Love it. It is a bad location with little parking and not big enough for how many people go there, but there is a reason. The food is great, with portions big enough to share. The family loves this place
Best breakfast in town! My favorite is the Philly cheesesteak omlette
Best Breakfast!. We come here all the time for awesome quality, portions, and service. Love the new location!
Yum. We come here almost every week.
Great breakfast diner in Clackamas. Looks like an old house that's become surrounded by industrial buildings. HUGE portions. The olmlet we ordered could have fed 3 people. good quality & fair prices. Great wait staff.
My wife and I wanted to try a new restaurant. We were by Clackamas town center so I looked up restaurants by us. We felt like breakfast as it was still early and I came across their location online which had good scores. At first glance, it is a older home turned into a food Cafe. They do not take credit or debit so plan ahead there. We were seated quick and staff were very friendly and cool. I opted for the chicken friend steak breakfast and the wife got the Philly cheese omlette. Man both were great. Cooked to perfection, portions were filling and you get your money's worth here. Coffee never got cold either. Service was great. Yum and we are stuffed. Definitely a do again.
Dean's is always top notch. The food and staff are amazing. If you go and it's busy it's well worth the wait. The price you pay for what you get is not like many other places. You'll leave full and with food left over. We went and got an open booth and were greeted right away. Hot coffee and was always topped off and our food came quick after ordering. We got a Dean's omelet and chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast. Both are the two top sellers at Dean's and so delicious. We always come back when we can and it's always as good as the last time. Definitely the best mom and pop place around
Always a hearty filled breakfast here. The omelets are huge and have plenty to take home. Heads up, that they only take cash. No cards or digital pay options here! So come prepared. Usually, they have a wait at busy times but they turn over the tables pretty quickly once someone leaves. Staff are always quick and helpful. Ive lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and I frequent here.
We had an amazing experience overall. Philly steak omelet is so delicious and huge. The price is very affordable compared to other diners, and you get more food! Our server was very attentive as well. We certainly recommend this great place!
I was a bit let down by the food here. I was expecting better from all the good reviews. The hash browns and fried eggs were outstanding. The hash browns were crispy and plentiful. The eggs were perfectly done. Unfortunately the chicken fried steak wasn't very good. To me, it tasted more like a battered processed salisbury steak than a chicken fried steak. The cream gravy and biscuits were both average.
My first time here and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The wait wasn't great but once we were able to get in, it became more than worth the wait. Had the pleasure of having the owner's son serve us and you can tell he loves what he does! Come to find out that they were the original owners of Gateway Breakfast House, which is another favorite of mine! If you are asking, which I did. They sold it before Obama came a couple of years later.
The food came and it was great! Very much like Gateway Breakfast House but served with a lot of passion! It shows with every dish that came! The best part of this whole experience was the fact that everyone around me told us how much they love this place and how great our server is! We will be back!
Bravo! If you're looking for the perfect breakfast spot, look no further than Dean's Homestyle Cafe. Cash Only! Closed on Wednesday.
From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly staff and the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed coffee and homemade breakfast dishes.
The menu is full of classic breakfast options, from fluffy pancakes and waffles to perfectly cooked eggs any way you like them. And if you're in the mood for something a little heartier, their biscuits and gravy and/or “Done Right” omelette with (hollandaise sauce, available only on weekends) are sure to hit the spot.
But what really sets Dean's apart is the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in every dish. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is simply delicious.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Dean's Homestyle Cafe. Please like the review.
Amazing staff and even better food. If you are looking for a home style breakfast that won't break the bank, Dean's is the spot to be at. The portions are big, and the flavor just makes any day start off perfectly. It can be filling, so be ready to eat, but every bite is worth it. Come check them out, but good to know that you might have to wait a little bit to be seated. Good things come in small packages, and Dean's Homestyle Cafe is a small breakfast place that delivers amazingly good food.
A geniunely down-home restaurant, Dean's humbly provides hot coffee with frequent refills, perfect portions, and ample friendliness with their staff, all for an extremely reasonable price.
If you are stuck between the pancakes and the french toast, definitely get the french toast. You won't be disappointed.
50 bucks feeds four people, but bring 70 and tip well because they deserve it.
10/10 will return.
