First time visiting StaarrCakes was absolutely amazing! I purchased six different cupcakes and I can honestly say these are the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. (Not that I ate them all myself) :) As if this place couldn't be more great.. The owners personality is just as sweet as her icing! I will be visiting StaarrCakes every time we visit Oak Island.
They have the BEST gluten free cupcakes!! The chocolate tastes so rich and moist like Devil's Food. The vanilla is equally amazing -- so moist and delicious! I've been gluten allergic for 5+ year and often feel like I'm missing out. Not at Staarr Cakes!! They are so polite and cooperative! Great customer service. I just love visiting them and indulging in their wonderful GF cupcakes!!! 🧁
We love love love this place. We had the opportunity to visit OKI for an extended period last year (and hopefully this year too) with my husband's employer. My children love the cupcakes. Oh my they are fresh and wonderful and so full of flavor. I recommend buying a dozen so that you can get a variety. When my daughter found out this year was a possibility she informed me that we should go in at least once every 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether you're in town for vacation or planning a wedding, StaarrCakes is an absolutely MUST. We frequently visit Southport and Oak island and will be making StaarrCakes a stop on all of our visits. During wedding cake sampling we tried numerous flavors: wedding cake, raspberry, blueberry, and peanut butter cupcakes. It was so difficult to choose a favorite flavor because they were all amazing. Sabine has a unique and professional skill with cupcake creation, using different fillings, toppings and icing design. Sabine created a stunningly gorgeous wedding cake for my wedding that was exactly what I dreamed of (in taste and appearance). I had numerous people tell me after the wedding how amazing the cake was!! Not only that but Sabine is a kind, warm person who was an absolute dream to work with during our wedding planning. She will make your vision come true and was so positive to work with. Sabine, we can't thank you enough for your beautiful work and thank goodness we had leftovers!! ;)
