The restaurant is our favorite, great food every time we go for brunch very often.
The pasta is excellent i like rigatoni alla Buttera, affogato is dessert made of espresso and ice-cream .
This restaurant is a favorite of our family. We go every chance we get. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is beautiful and Eric is our very favorite waiter!

Food was delicious and perfect proportions. Service was good, a little slow because it was a very busy afternoon otherwise everything was excellent. Atmosphere was very relaxed and the small garden with outdoor tables was the perfect setting.

Give Cathryn's a try if in town and looking for a nice place to eat dinner.
KInd of an upscale looking restaurant, clean, with plenty of seating and cool art on the walls. During nice weather there is even some outside courtyard seating.
Even though we did not have a reservation we ended up getting a table after a short wait. After a long day trip here in Cold Spring it was actually a good choice to sit on the couches by the lounge area and enjoy a glass of wine. Oh, and they pour a full glass here too, not the half glass crap that many places offer when it comes to wine. A win.
Food was tasty, portions were solid, and prices were fair for what we received but maybe a bit pricey for some. Polenta with sausage, rigatoni in brandied cream sauce, and penne with shrimp were all prepared well. Not a drop was left on any plate.
The service here was terrific as our waiter was more than attentive and offered good advice on the menu options.
Also, we met the owner who chatted with us a bit and seemed pretty nice. We'll definitely be back here for a meal next time in town.
We stopped in on an October afternoon after taking a scenic ride up 9D. Having been here before we kind of expected good food and were not disappointed. My Wife had a Sautéed Calamari appetizer that was delicious and I had A small plate of Smoked Salmon that was not that small and was also delicious. I had an incredible Fettuccini with Zucchini Flower, Currents and Anchovies that was wonderful. My wife had Penne with Shrimp Tomatoes and Zucchini that was as good as my dish Both dish's were done with very different sauce combinations that were really inventive. The Chardonnay we had was as good as the food. We were glad we took the ride.
Nice dinner and service. Friend and I ate here a few weeks ago and were both impressed with the service and the food. It was a slow night as there were only 3 other couples in on a Wednesday. After seeing mixed reviews was a bit reluctant but had a good experience overall and would go back. It is a little pricey but it has been around long enough and still going so must not be to much of a factor for many.
Delicious! Not just typical parmesan dishes. Excellent wine list.

A Class Act and A Superlative Kitchen. I don't dine at Cathryn's frequently, but it's definitely on the list for special occasions and those times I just want to feel civilized and be fed and treated well. The first time we went, it was still Cathryn's Dolcigno, a small room at the rear of that courtyard off Main Street - you know, when it had the gauze canopy, the paintings of the cecropia moths, the wall full of wine...? It was fantastic then, and it's withstood the test of time. Now she's expanded to the street, and added that oh-so-inviting looking lounge at the front, and considerably more dining space. It's rich and sophisticated looking, with a subued color palette and quiet art on display. The music is an interesting mix for adult ears and the volume also subdued. It's just not a place for loud.
I've never had an inferior meal at Cathryn's; I've had some excellent ones - and one I still consider the best I've ever experienced. Anywhere. That entree was a risotto graced with a wild boar barolo wine sauce - rich,spicy, tangy, the meat in tender shreds... Since then we've tried a wealth of surprising courses. Recently I had a delicate ravioli with a porcini filling; my dining companion a garden risotto, light, replete with the freshest bits of locally grown produce ... Never a misstep! The wine list is extensive, a range of price from the modest but worth drinking to the bottle worth any price! and something suitable for your meal. We've never had any complaints about the service, and if we had, Cathryn Fadde is on the premises, quite capable of resolving any problems a guest may have. (She's also quite an affable hostess.)
The portions are not the nouvelle quisine which ought to be presented with magnifying glasses; neither are they so abbondanza that you can't get through a meal in comfort. (But they're still quite sufficient that I rarely avail myself of dessert.)
Neat little tidbit concerning a smart restaurateur and making it worth your while to go for the bottle if you want a good wine but not to waste it ... She's found the legal means for you to take a partly consumed bottle home with you. After all, you bought it, why shouldn't you enjoy the entire bottle?
No gimmicks, no noise, no rush - and no ordinary dining. Cathryn's will be high on my list for a long time.

Food was very delicious. We had the lamb patties for appetizer and the vitelo for main. Both were very good. For dessert, we had the apple cake and the chocolate mousse cake. Both were amazing. Service was efficient and kind (although it was a slow night). In sum, all was good. A bit pricey, though.
Came here for dinner and they do take walk ins. We were seated right away. The food is good. We had the specials of the day, cod and rack of lambs. The cod comes with mushrooms and grape tomatoes. The lamb is juicy. Both the cod and lamb comes with green veggies, carrots, and mash potatoes. We also got the half a dozen of raw oysters. It taste better with the cocktail sauce. This place does take card payment. We also had the tiramisu and the lemon targuto. The place was celebrating their 25th anniversary.
Food excellent, stopped in here after attending a brewfest. Was busy, but service was still good. Ate inside, but the outdoor eating looked lovely.
We really enjoyed having lunch here! The staff is so kind and knowledgeable. Food was hot and delicious.
Superb food, wine and service. The wine menu is elaborate, but is mostly by the bottle, not the glass. The wines by the glass are quite limited but are quite good. We had mussels appetizer and mushroom/prosciutto appetizer, both delicious. The ravioli? stuffed with cheese and pears was extraordinary. And their espresso even was top notch . Nuf said. Just go there and enjoy. BTW I hear that during summer they are very crowded.
A waiter/waitress can make or break your experience while dinning. The staff was friendly and engaging and had my girlfriends and I enjoy our day out. Food was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Place was spotless and the ambience is quaint with a cozy outdoor space to dine. Highly recommended.
Had dinner here, tonight, Memorial Day 2022. Absolutely EXCELLENT food and service. Our waitress was fantastic as were all the other young ladies who looked after us. I believe Emma was our server. Great job and will be back
