Unique place to enjoy delicious food and drinks. Loved the friendly atmosphere with wait staff that are quick to serve you and happy to inform you of the history of the plane restaurant. I was honored to see the heart warming display of the fallen warriors table.
Will definitely be back next trip through.
This is coming from someone who doesn’t like much fish. The airplane restaurant has the freshest fish I’ve had in Colorado. So tasty, flaky, fall in your mouth fish. I ordered the fish and chips (the chips are delicious!), crispy on the outside smooth on the inside. Sooo good! My husband ordered the catfish, humongous, filling and outrageously good. Not gamey either which surprised my husband who is from Oklahoma.
We sat up in the airplane, temperature is monitored so we didn’t freeze or overheat. What an experience and a half I tell you! Not only was the food amazing and fresh, but the design, layout, and even some historical items were super neat.
We WILL be coming back. Most likely bring my in-laws with us next time. So delicious!
A literal Airplane with a literal Restaurant built around it. You have the option of eating in the plane, or under the wing inside. Both are great, though in fair warning, the plane interior does have a slight "old Air Force" odor that to me added to the nostalgia, but some may find distracting.
The food is good, not fantastic or life changing... but the atmosphere doesn't lend itself to super fancy anyway.
The prices are fair, and the service was great.
In all, an experience more people need to have, in my opinion.
This place was amazing! The atmosphere does not disappoint! You can actually sit in the plane and eat after you've sat in the cockpit. The food was good but most importantly the fries were worth coming back for! The service was great! Our server was very courteous and pleasant!
Eat inside of a retired Cold War Air Force plane. How can you not love this place?
The Airplane Restaurant has both a traditional restaurant area filled with Air Force memorabilia and a retired Boeing Stratotanker - you can choose to dine in either.
Guests can climb into the cockpit, sit in the pilot and co-pilot chair, and fidget with throttles and switches while they wait for their food.
The service was great. The staff were attentive, quick and friendly.
The only downside to this restaurant is the food - which is good but not great. For example, the burgers only come well-done instead of offering guests a choice of cooking temperatures. Some of the dishes we ordered were closer to room temperature than freshly cooked hot. But, all the food tasted good.
Dining inside a retired military plane is such a unique experience it compensates for the food.
Management could really make this place a hot spot if they concentrated on improving the food quality, choice and serving temperature. While those need a bit of work, they still do an acceptable job and the Airplane Restaurant is well worth a visit.
Very cool themed restaurant that is great for kid and anyone who likes planes. Only came one time but it is very fun place to eat. I will be coming back soon with some friends.
I love this place. I am planning on going many times here with my Christian brothers, family, friends, and anyone I know. Family friendly, portion size is just the right amount, and the history and airplane culture is amazing. From the corny parts to history, this is a place for anyone, especially for plane enthusiasts! I love airplanes and you have to dine in the plane! Popular spot for veterans and even on duty service men and women! The respect that they have for our men and women who have and are fighting for their lives for our country is awesome! This restaurant is definitely what I would say, a true American restaurant! The owner was a very nice guy, his name is Steve. Ask to talk to him for any questions you have! You have to try their Bison Burger it was sooooo juicy and tasted really good! If you are just VISITING or PASSING THROUGH Colorado, you have to go here for tourist reasons! Bring a birthday party to this spot, and all the kids will have a blast!
Very cool spot to eat! Love it. Went her with the car club and we enjoyed it and friendly staff and cook came out and talked to us and he was from New Mexico which was awesome. So took some pics and chill and don’t mind coming back soon!
What a cool place to eat. So many awesome pics and interesting things on the walls. Our waitress was the best. She was fun and did a great job.
The hamburgers come well done, so be aware. The cole slaw is the creamy style and tastes good.
We ate in the plane and it was very cool. The cockpit is open for pictures and checking out, which makes this place even more cool.
Went here tonight. The burgers were really good. The coleslaw was good, but the fries were amazing! We ate in the plane, which was fun.
Awesome place!!! I have 2 boys in the Air Force and I love all the memorabilia and models!!!! Eating in the airplane was terribly hot and I really felt bad for the staff. Still 5 stars, they warned us several times about the heat before going up. I had the Greek Burger which was super good!!!
This was one of the coolest restaurants that we’ve been to in years. The concept is awesome & eating inside of a decommissioned military aircraft was definitely a unique experience.
Food was as expected but the staff was super friendly & attentive.
A must do when visiting Colorado Springs
This is a fun restaurant built next to and inside of an old Air Force refueling aircraft. The food is good, mainly sandwiches and burgers but all are good. There is rarely a wait for a table unless you want to eat inside the plane.
Came here after a visit to the WW2 museum. I loved the fact you could eat in the fuselage of an old plane. That made for a really neat atmosphere. The food was alright, but there was nothing to write home about. Got the nachos, which were plentiful, but just about what you would expect for nachos. The best part was all the old model and toy planes hanging from the ceiling. Cool place to stop off if you want to enjoy the atmosphere but temper your food expectations.
I stumbled upon this airplane themed restaurant after visiting the National Museum of WWII Aviation (nearby and that is a must-see!!) and was looking for a restaurant for dinner, and this was perfect!! I wasn't disappointed! I'm very glad I did stumble across this restaurant after leaving the museum! Guests have their choice of being seated in the KC-97 or in the general dining area or bar area. I chose to sit in the plane. It does get chilly in there if it's cooler out, so definitely dress for it. Everyone was dressed like pilots in pilot shirts or in flight suits. The staff was very friendly and the food was perfect and came out quickly!! I think my cocktail was called a touchdown or something like that. It was fantastic! I also ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad! A great location for those who are into or love Aviation! There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot as well.

First meal I ever had here in Colorado. I lived in the UK for 5 years but the fish & chips of The Airplane Restaurant was way better! Ambiance was absolutely stunning. Truly a unique dining experience. The staff were phenomenon. From the person who greeted us by the entrance, who happened to be the grandson of the owner, we were blown away by how professional he was. Owner should be proud! And the lady who helped us with our orders, she was so accommodating. And the owner, who came up with the idea of this restaurant, such a lovely person. Whoever comes and visits me here in Colorado, I would definitely take them to this restaurant.
