Tremont Goodie Shop is my favorite place to go for cakes and donuts! Been going there for over 45 years!
My husbands family has been going to this shop since it opened. My father in law worked there as a boy and I just got to bring our newest addition. Most amazing cinnamon bread and sticks around and delicious bear claws as well!!!!
I was very happy with my wedding cake and Notre Dame themed groom's cake! The cakes tasted wonderful (love their frosting and fillings!) and they decorated both exactly as I wanted, the cakes were perfect! Debbie and Emilie were great to work with and I love that the bakery is family owned. I would definitely recommend for weddings!

We stopped in today to pickup some teacher gift goodies and my son chose a vanilla cupcake and let me tell you, he devoured that thing and requested that he get these cupcakes for "all his birthdays". Of course I had to collect all the crumbs from his plate to try myself and it was delicious.
Best store in UA! Stop in today!! Try the cinnamon sticks.....or anything!! It’s all amazing!!!
I have been lusting after these baked goods for fifty years! Just ordered some on the phone with Emily, who was extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks Emily!
Thank you for making my sons 1st Birthday extra special. You went above and beyond!
I love the Tremont Goodie Shop. In fact many people across my territory in Ohio love them too because I always take Cinnamon Sticks to my out of county real estate office meetings. Always a huge hit!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the video cookie Valentine I picked up for my dad this morning!!! Thank you, Tremont Goodie Shoppe!!
A throwback to my childhood. I will always love the Goodie Shop. Excellent service and amazing goodies!
Fresh, tasty baked goods. Staple shop of the community. Friendly staff..... Enough said!!
A true Columbus / UA staple . I love this bakery . I’ve been going my whole life . I love their cookies best . Great buttercream. Cakes have a unique texture . Not for everyone . Doughnuts are popular but I think they’re just okay . Big on their cookies Great staff .
Very good prices, delicious goodies, ma and pa. What more could you ever want? Was getting compliments on the cinnamon rolls all day!
My family grew up in UA but moved out of state many years ago, whenever they're back in town I always make a special trip to the Goodie Shop. The donuts are a blast of nostalgia and just as good as I remember them being over 20 years ago. The maple & cream long johns are particular favorites of ours. Can't beat this Columbus staple!
I've tried it once about a year ago and haven't been back since. The shop is small and gets crowded. The staff are ok but it appears that you really need to know what they make and know what you want before you get there. Now, that being said, they have an online menu that tells you what they make. Not all are made daily, some must be ordered. The reason for 3 stars is because my experience at the shop itself didn't inspire me to return, apparently ever. However, the 3stars are primarily for the owner and the way she handled my feedback. I paid with a card and received an email receipt. The system the owner uses sends a survey attached to the email receipt. When she recipients my feedback on being dissatisfied, she provided an explanation, an apology and an instant reversal of payment for the item I didn't like. It showed immediately on my online statement for that particular card. That's serious customer service and support right there. Now that I'm thinking about it, she can have 5 stars just for that and I may go by there one morning after work and get something else to try. So, initially I was giving 3 stars but thought about the high level of professionalism from the owner and decided to use some kindness.

I was introduced to The Original Goodie Shop as a first year student at Ohio State in the late 1980's. When it comes to small, family owned brick and mortar bakeries in the Columbus area, they are, quite simply THE best (love Resch's too! ❤️)! Their cakes, doughnuts and pastries NEVER disappoint which explains why they are a central Ohio institution! For the last two years I've driven from Licking county to indulge and it's well worth the trip. And the holidays wouldn't be the same without their charming and yummy variety boxes that I give as gifts every year. I've NEVER been disappointed.
However, I have to be honest. I find the fact that they actively encourage their patrons to add gratuity ..... tacky and honestly..... offensive.
The Goodie Shop has always been expensive and rightfully so. The quality is well worth the price. But when I'm paying $2.75 for each of my two dozen cookies, I don't appreciate having to confront a gratuity screen on the kiosk while the young cashier waits for the tally. I find that sort of pressure garish and below the bar for such a reputable and classy space. I don't tip the cashier's at Weilands Market (who do much more physical work that simply putting cookies in a box), nor do my dry cleaners have a jar on the counter with a hand written "TIPS" scrawled across the front.
Sales associats in a bakery shouldn't have to depend on gratuity as a wage. I can only hope that they're paid a decent hourly wage and that anything extra that may be left by a patron is merely a kind gesture, but the fact that I'm prompted to pay even more every time I use my credit card makes me wonder if that's the case. Please take the time to ponder my suggestion that you end this practice. I'm far from the only one who finds it distasteful. ❤️
We came a bit late in the day, so most of the popular items were all gone! I recommend coming early, to get what you want and need.
Everything we got was pretty good and pretty different than many other bakeries. The little bite sized treats were fairly inexpensive and so, we got to try a few different things. There's plenty of parking in their open lot and other shops surrounding the area to visit.
Staff was really nice and accommodating. The shop is a bit small, but cute and comforting. You can tell that everything is made in house and not manufactured. They sell cakes, cookies, pastries, donuts, and various other things.
I really enjoyed their message wall because it was uplifting and positive!
I wanted to try more items, but the items that we came for were sold out. I look forward to coming back!
Wow wow wow! Is this the only bakery around who opens super early? I am so grateful they open at 7am because they saved my life when I needed to send a birthday gift to a coworker this morning! The cupcakes were lovely and arrived quickly. I will be ordering again!
Coming here since I was little. The bakery and icing smell takes me way back. We always have our birthday cakes made here. Their longjohns, or that's what they were called, are still the best and sell out fast. I want to order a dozen just for myself. Mainly the chocolate and maple iced versions, yum!! Cookies are good and they often carry some very old style cookies on special occasions. Ex. Springerlees, cutouts, etc. Even selling King cakes soon. They sell single cake pieces as well. Not sure if it's unsold cakes or what but they'll definitely satisfy a sweet tooth. I was so saddened when this place posted an out of business notice a couple of years ago, but breathed a sigh of relief when a previous owner bought back many items and reopened. I remember the community rallied some funds to help them buy back some of the sold equipment. Either way I'm so so glad it's still there.
For our sweet-as-pie theme first birthday for our son, the Original Goodie Shop did not fail to impress!! It even tasted as amazing as it looked, and am happy I went with this delicious all-buttercream frosting over a fondant cake elsewhere.. I personally like my cakes to taste delicious, as much as look good. The prices and service cannot be beat either. I will turn to them for every occasion going forward.
Ordered a custom cake for graduation and it was beautiful and tasty! They did an amazing job. I got a vanilla cake with chocolate icing and filling and a custom message. I also asked for them to add a graduation cap which they added perfectly. The cake was well priced. Thank you so much to “The Original Goodie Shop” for making my graduation day all the better 🎓☺️
The Original Goodie Shop did both of my Mother's 70th birthday cakes, and they were absolutely beautiful, and tasted delicious! Thank you.
It is always a treat to grab a baked good here. Prices are reasonable, they have a large variety of baked goods and donuts and everything is delicious.
We used the Goodie shop for our wedding on 9/16/22. We have been working with Emilie since last year for tastings and getting the perfect cake for our wedding day. Emilie was amazing. She was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process! She even helped with delivery last minute when we ran into some problems with pick up. The cake itself was incredible with perfect flavor. We went simple with white wedding cake with almond frosting and all of our guests were talking about how amazing it was! We will be using the goodie shop for future dessert needs and recommend them to everyone!
Yummy pastries. Great whipped cream inside. Delicious icing! Lots to choose from!
A surprise in the best way possible : )
A couple weeks ago, my sister woke up early and brought home ½ a dozen Maple Persians with nuts. She knows they are the only donuts I like (love actually hehe) and haven’t been able to find them in Columbus ever since I moved here a few years back. I thought, “Surely, she didn’t make the 3-hour drive to our hometown to get these?” And I was right! Turns out, she contacted The Original Goodie Shop to ask if they make custom orders. She said they were so happy to try any order she asked. And OMG… not only did they try, but they were also 10x better than any Maple Persian I’ve EVER tasted!! That is the whole truth and nothin’ but the truth! I’d recommend this bakery to my dearest grandma if she were here (and she’s picky!) The donuts were delish and the people were just as sweet : )
