When first told about this place I had my doubts, I mean “good seafood somewhere other that a coastal town”, really? Then there was the description of the place, two tables, eight chairs, and a twelve by twelve restaurant. Come on, really? With quality preparation and great service!? Sounded to good to be true so I ignored the recommendation, beside I lived over a hour away. A few days later my wife reminds me of the place as we were approaching the exit where this alleged eatery existed. She insisted and I caved. Pulled up to the store front and I had no doubt this was a waste of my time. The interior was just as it had been described, but the smell was alluring and the little wall bar had two available seats, so we sat. The smell was wonderful. We order our meals from a “multiple choice menu hanging on the wall”, too many opinions, too many types of seafood!! My mouth was watering now. We ordered and then our food arrived by the friendliest young woman I had met in a month. Then I ate......, this is the best seafood meal I had ever ate where I didn’t have to get a small loan to pay for it. I can’t say enough of how charming this place is and the food was excellent. Also attach is a fish market where you can buy just about any type of fresh seafood to take home and make that you can find anywhere.

Oh my goodness!! Frank’s is like a hidden treasure- the absolute best seafood in town. I highly recommend to anyone who loves fish/seafood!! The gumbo is so good, you would think that you were in New Orleans. The fish that is fried has the lightest batter- and the tarter sauce recipe is so yummy!! Great prices, super friendly staff!!

We just tried this little place for the first time and loved it! We tried a bunch of different things; the lobster bisque, gumbo, calamari, and fried cod. Everything was delicious, fresh, just enough spice, especially the gumbo. It is a small space for eating in, but I will be back! Good value for fresh seafood.

I've heard from multiple family members that I needed to come to Frank's and I'm extremely happy that I finally made it out with my grandparents! Inside and outside dining, fast and friendly service, and great portion sizes. Huge selection of seafood in the other half of the restaurant with a hidden wine selection with some pairings suggestions! Super cool place hidden away in Hilliard that's completely worth every dollar that was spent today

soo soo good. Excellent Shrimp po boy. Big shrimp, toasted bun, just the right amount of spice. Loved the seasoning on the crispy fries. Big portion - couldn't finish it all. Took home some excellent thick lobster bisque - love the hot pita with the special seasoning that came with the bisque (wish I had the recipe!). Great place for good fresh seafood. Pretty darn extensive menu for a small market restaurant. We were lucky to nab 2 seats in the tiny (10 seat max) dining area. A++ food.

I attended the fish fry that Franks hosted in July! It was the best fish fry I have ever been to. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious. This company went out of their way to make sure everyone was satisfied. I highly recommend stopping in for a visit when you’re in Columbus. It’s one of the best locations in the city, take it from this guy, I love food and great dining experiences.

We have been there twice now. Both times the food has been excellent as well as the service and conversation with the owners. Hands down the best catfish I have ever eaten. I have a feeling that my family and I will be back quite a few more times. This place should be on everyone's must eat at list!

I'm not a big fish eater mainly because you cannot ever find good fish anywhere. But, Franks Fish and Seafood has given me new life. OMG!!! The fried oysters will send you straight to heaven; their codfish was thee perfect tasting Codfish I've ever had. Their sampler platter is a great way to taste their codfish, catfish, perch ,shrimp & calamari the best ever.

My family and I went to Franks last night for dinner for the first time, and I can tell you it will definitely not be the last. I got the pasta platter (I know, pasta at a seafood place. I'm not a huge fish fan) and it has to be some of the best pasta that I've ever had (and I eat a lot of pasta). The rest of my family got fish and absolutely loved it. The family running the restaurant was so friendly and welcoming and as I mentioned before, I will for sure be coming back in the future. I highly recommend this place!

Went there today for an impromptu lunch date with my DH. I had the oyster Po’ Boy and he had the cod platter. Have to say it was the best seafood we’ve had since we visited Hawaii last winter. Kim was a great hostess and made us feel welcome. She even gave us samples of the clam chowder and gumbo to try. Will definitely be back!

We were staying at a nearby Hampton Inn. They are open seven days a week! We were there on a Tuesday. They are open til 7pm Monday- Thursday, Friday and Saturday til 8pm. Their menu consists mostly of fish offerings but also have BLT's and chicken sandwiches. They have a small patio to sit out at and enjoy. I had the perch dinner and my husband had the crab cake dinner. Delicious! So fresh! Kim and Bill (the "Grumpy Chef"),such a friendly couple, came out and talked to us. They even brought us a sample of their clam chowder. We only wish we lived close so we could come by often! We love going to non-chain restaurants and this is one of the best we've been to. If you live in Columbus or are driving through you must stop by and try!!!

We tried a few things such as: gumbo, clam chowder, a fried whole red snapper, and fried calamari rings. The gumbo was pretty thick and wasn't quite as I had imagined but it was good. The chowder was very rich, flavorful, but also thicker than what I imagine... the whole red snapper was fresh and tremendous!! The vegetables and rice accompied this fish perfectly!! The calamari rings were tender and bouncy. Kim took VERY GOOD care of us. We would come back again for sure!

Just had my Friday lent dinner from Franks Fish. I had the Cod platter, it was fresh, flaky and moist and very tasty. I wish that it was more than 1 large piece of Cod but you can order extra pieces. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all good.

If you haven't been here yet and you like seafood you're wrong! I stopped in last night to try it out and was extremely satisfied all around. I was greeted by the friendly married couple that owns the restaurant. They were very helpful and suggestive. I was able to get my food fresh and quick! The food was awesome especially the red snapper! Easily my favorite seafood now in Ohio for sure.

A little gem worth that's worth the trip! Fantastic fresh fish, complemented by even greater owners who really are out to give you their best meal. She took the time to really break down all of the different fish, and what complements them. I ordered a fish from the grouper family, and just had a moment where I realized I was eating it too fast! It's great that they have outdoor seating, because despite the wind I was quite relaxed! Now I got to go see why all my friends never told me about this place.

Don't let the industrial setting fool you, this is as good as food gets on and around Hilliard-Rome. Parking is no issue. Interior is spartan but clean. I've only ever gotten carryout, but the outside patio seems like a nice place for a meal, weather permitting. Right off the bat, the service is about as friendly as it gets. The woman I usually see at the counter is just delightful. Menu offers a wide array of seafood options with a few chicken and salad options. Notably, they have a lot of specials only available on certain days, like seafood boils and alligator on weekends and tacos on Tuesday. That being said, I've only ever gotten the fried fish sandwiches despite having been here a half dozen times. So I can really only comment on those, but they sure are good. There's nothing extraordinary about them, but all the little parts are just done well, and it adds up to a great sandwich. You get good fish fried up nicely, perfectly suited bread (kind of a hoagie type thing), high-quality veggies, and the right amount of tartar sauce. Also the fries are decent, even though I'm not a huge fan of french fries. I definitely recommend requesting the seasoning salt/cajun salt to kick the fries up a bit. Lastly, I think their cod is the tastiest fish, but it also probably holds up the worst in sandwich form. If you're not in a position to deal with a sloppy sandwich, the other three options are all pretty similar, so just get whatever you tend to prefer (perch, walleye, or catfish)

For a moment I forgot I was in Ohio, truly a masterpiece. The next best thing besides going out with a fishing pole and grabbing it yourself from the sea. Super fresh shrimp, fish, crab cakes and awesome gumbo. They can get busy but please don’t forget that the food is fresh, its not food that is frozen, so bear with them, Be patient, and it will be well worth it. I know some of y’all are not used to having fresh seafood so you wont understand it takes time to cook, however being from the north east it definitely brought back memories of a nice sunny beach day at the Jersey shore eating some fresh sea food. Definitely will be coming back again.

This is a local owned place and easily the best seafood spot in Columbus!! Cute patio too. They also have a seafood market right next door which has sooo much variety and good stuff. Got the fried shrimp appetizer and bourbon glazed salmon and both were amazing. Great for the price and definitely will be returning!!! Happy we stopped here

Great food spot. Got the fried shrimp platter. Lovely women serving the food, with short wait. Went and checked out the market side while waiting. Will be back to try other things.
