This place is such a great neighborhood dive bar. Super cheap, so cheap that it honestly makes it tough to justify going to any other place with similar vibes.
There are lots of regulars who are 40+, but as a person under 30, never have felt weird going in here.
Great dive bar in an interesting location! They only take cash but all of the drinks are very affordable. Make sure to bring quarters to play pool. There's a touch tunes that was off when we arrived, but the bartender quickly fixed it for us. It smells a bit old and like cigarettes, but that's just part of the charm. The bathroom is surprisingly nice.
Once a local grocery store, this is a family-owned, friendly, old neighborhood bar.
Despite the word "Grill" in the name, food is not served here, however you may bring-in or order-out from many nearby pizza, Chinese, and fast food restaurants. Regulars often bring food to share.
This is a cash-only bar but there is an ATM.
There is a large selection of beer (enlarge my photo below) but none on tap. Busch N/A is available for the designated driver.
Pleasant bartenders make well poured cocktails (sorry that Eric had a bad experience. As in all bars, some tenders don't measure up and don't last).
There is no need for a happy hour because the prices are always more than fair.
There is a pool table, a pinball machine, Touchtunes music, five TVs, nine seats at the bar, and ample seating at several tables. A smoking area with table seating is in the rear.
There is a parking area behind the bar and street parking neaby.
Mind your manners and your loud voices as this is a residential area. Don't drink and drive.
Really great neighborhood bar. It is much roomier than it looks from the outside (and than many neighborhood bars). They have a pool table and a pinball machine. It is very well kept, the drinks are cheap, and the bartender and the regulars are all friendly.
2 dollar beers and the Johnnie's pour on shots are not the normal shots.... great place to hang out. Highly recommend
Good dive bar with plenty to make it feel unique. Settled into a neighborhood, it's a little off the main trail. Cans of beer available from a cooler in the back and a $1.00 pool table with touchtunes. Cash only.
Local dive bar. Cash only. Friendly bartenders. Cheap drinks.

THE ABSOLUTE best dive bar in Columbus. Cash only!
Cash only, reasonable prices, great neighborhood bar.
This is the ultimate neighborhood bar. Very retro. You step back into the 1950’s. Drinks are basic and more than reasonably priced. We have been going on Christmas Day for years. Good way to relax in casual setting with friends for conversation pinball and pool.
great place to eat and have good service
It's nice to hang out with friends and the bar tender was on top of are drinks
... and just like that, they lost my business forever. Too bad because it was really my favorite pub. Friendly folks friendly lovely bar keeps. A true gem, too bad, I'm actually broken hearted but, oh well...
Hidden neighborhood find good for meeting old friends.
Where else in this neck of the woods can you buy a drink for $3? Great "corner" bar atmosphere...you'll expect Archie Bunker to walk in at any minute. There's free cheesy poofs and pretzels, too! I love this place...AND it's within stumbling distance from my apartment! :)
A must visit, hole in the wall of an actual house, honest to goodness dive bar in the heart of Grandview!
Johnnie's is one of those places you always hear people talk about, but if you don't know where it is will probably never find. Tucked away on a quiet residential street is this diamond in the rough treasure trove of vintage bar decor, random home furnishings, and some of the cheapest drinks in town.
Jenn is one of the best bartenders in the city, and she keeps the drinks strong and moving.
Bring $20, play the jukebox, and please drink responsibly.
