This place is now called The Dish and is on Dublin-Granville Road. I have been a patron of this restaurant for over a year and I love their peanut butter soup. I highly recommend this restaurant. They are very friendly and they have excellent food.

I honestly don’t know where to begin; second to none, close to home feeling, feels like I’m eating in my mama’s kitchen. Friendly and professional service, busy at all times, Patience is required due to high demand levels. Amazing food and music, clean and comfortable surroundings. Go for lunch and/or dinner with friends and loved ones, trust me it’s so worth it. More to say but will end it here.

The location moved 7 minutes away and it's not on Google. However, we traveled 2 hours for this food and it was great!!

The fufu and goat makes me feel like I'm back in Benin. When I'm feeling nostalgic for W Africa, this is the only place.

I had a plate called "Red Red". It was good! Fried platains, fried fish and beans mixed with smoked fish. As there is a lot of frying, it's a bit greasy. Normal for african dishes. The staff were friendly and explained the dishes. I will return when I'm in the area.

I don't normally try new things, but I was at an activity conference and a fellow activity director wanted to try this restaurant. Wow it was amazing. The staff was so sweet and willing explained the different dishes. When the food came out it looked just like the picture on the wall. They have great customer service. Very friendly. I will definitely be going back. Thanks for a great experience. Tammy Point

I just love this place the lady is very much amazing, they take longer to prepare your food but it’s worth the wait, if you don’t like spicy food just tell them and they’ll take care of your needs, instead of posting negative reviews.

Going home on my way from campus I decided to pickup some good African food . It was my first time coming to Sermat and I had just found it on the GPS really . I called to order because that’s how you order on the website and asked for waakye with goat meat . The lady was nice she told me I could pay in store with Apple Pay which was convenient for me . There were one or two people in line but it didn’t take too long either . By the time I came up my food was ready packaged and smelling good. The Waakye was very good the rice is well spiced and has flavor on its own . The shito and Geri, stew and goat meat were all included with the meal . It was really good and for the price it was a very good amount . I was full on almost half the plate so I kept the rest to eat tomorrow too. The presentation of the waakye too was nice . Overall if give them 5 stars. Great service and great food . I uploaded the photo below. Honesty, for my first time here I had no complaints and the place is really clean too.

Even if you've had West African food before (went with a South African friend who agreed with me that West African food is quite different from East African, e.g., Ethiopian; or Northern African e.g., Moroccan; and, well, South African which is a polyglot of just about everything), you will appreciate Sermat's as upper echelon. Their Banku was excellent...even noobs will like it...especially when dipped into the various tasty house made sauces (they may tell you they are hot but not really compared to what is considered hot these days). If they have the mackerel, get it...my friend got it and shared some with me and eventually said no more sharing because he wanted some too. Goat with Banku was good as well. The Ghanian guy serving us and the Ghanian lady who operates the business were super nice to me which directly contradicts what another reviewer said about staff not friendly if you're not African...not true! One small quibble (which every review should have)...was hoping for some Afro Jazz background music (ok, so I play trumpet so not objective I guess) but one of the patrons picked out some classical music. IMHO, African food tastes better when served with African music ;-)

I stopped here for lunch and had the chicken and rice. I loved the dish. The rice had a wonderful Smokey ness. The chicken was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The red sauce had just the right amount of kick. I thought the side salad was a great accompaniment. The flavors are sticking with me and I just want more.

Food tastes wonderful. Would have given it a five star but for one reason only. The cashier/order taker was slightly dismissive. However this does not affect the quality of the food. Ordered jollof rice with Chicken and Waakye with Beef. Reasonably priced for the quantity served. Would recommend to friends and family.
