First visit to the Columbus Yats. Located on trendy 4th street Yats fits right in. The concept is the same as the Broad Ripple location - order at the counter, get your drink, find a seat, grab your food from the kitchen window when it’s ready. Very tasty Cajun fare. Spiced to perfection. I’m happy to have a Yats closer to home!
Holy crap!!! Great good at a great price. Glad I took a chance!!
Great food. Just the right amount of spice. I have tried just about everything and it's all good. Great service. Nice atmosphere. You should really try this place. My whole family loves it.
Yats rocks!. Went to this place with my girlfriend. We both ate, and got full, for less than 20 bucks(including tip).
The staff was incredibly friendly and did not hesitate to offer free samples of the food, which was AWESOME. I had the Drunken Chicken and red beans and sausage.
The drunken chicken was amazing. It had a very good flavor and generous amounts of chicken, with just the right amount of kick.
The red beans and sausage was also extremely good. I thought it was a little short on the sausage, at first but found smaller chunks mixed in with the beans. It could have benefited from a little more spice, but hey that's why they have a HUGE selection of hot sauces.
My girlfriend got the chili cheese etoufee with crayfish and she raved about it. I tried a small bite and loved it, even though I am not big on crayfish.
I spoke with the gentleman who took our order for a few minutes when I went up to get more bread. The fact you only get two pieces of bread is a minor complaint, but additional pieces are cheap (he just gave me two extra pieces). He informed me they were looking to open a Yats down in Louisville (where I am from) and I REALLY hope he was right. I will certainly be eating at Yats again.
In case you didn't get the hint, EAT AT YATS!!!! You will be glad you did. Unless you are like me and do not live in an area where there is one convenient. Yats owners, if you're reading this, OPEN ONE IN LOUISVILLE SOON!
A good place for a quick lunch. The menu is simple with only handful of items. They pre prepared and ready to serve. We ordered half/half of drunken chicken/spinach mushrooms and chipotle chicken/mockshoe. Both are served with bread. Both were good. We liked them very much. The plates are not very big, I thought they were too small for lunch. But I was wrong, they were heavy. They have a layer of rice at the bottom covered with the choice of gravies which were full of butter, cream. So, it was so filling. I would visit again for a quick lunch.
I went with the Half/Half chipotle chicken and white chicken chili. The chipotle didn’t have a big impact on flavor as I was hoping for, but the White chicken chili was extremely good. I opted for extra bread, and I am glad I did. The bread was toasted and complemented both meals perfectly. I really enjoyed the music that was played, it’s refreshing to hear hard rock. If I was in Columbus again I would most likely comeback.
Pleasurable experience, great food, cold beer, friendly prompt service.
I had the red beans and sausage over rice with garlic bread and it was delicious! It really doesn't get any better than this!
Stopped at this location for the first time as we were traveling south to visit our daughter & wanted to surprise her with her favorite meal from home, Chili Cheese Étouffee With Crawfish from Yats. Service was very fast & friendly & our daughter was thrilled, remarking that this was, "10 times better" than the other location she frequented when we lived in Greenwood. Specifically, she noted her dish was chocked full of crawfish as opposed to zero or one piece she got the last few times at the other location. Much appreciated!
I really enjoyed it. The etouffee deserves its status as specialty. As a fan of etouffee, this is definitely it, and the chili cheese isn’t a bad addition. The rice is fantastic, very well made. The garlic bread is a touch heavy with butter, but other than that, it’s excellent.
Delicious food with a friendly atmosphere. Free samples offered to make sure you get something that fits. Menu has some floating favorites. Easy to reach while downtown. Order your meal with extra bread!
Been missing good cajun food recently, and Yats definitely fit that bill. Ordered the Drunken Chicken and was offered a sample of the Chicken Maque Choux- both were delicious! The Maque Choux had a sweeter flavor- similar to a corn chowder, which I'll definitely order more of next time. The drunken chicken smelled and tasted amazing- slightly spicy and so good, especially when piled onto the side of bread it came with. Already looking forward to my next visit
