I've been wanting to try this place since I saw one pop up years ago. Yet, I never went until now. What was I thinking? There is a reason you always see people going in and out of this place... the food is good!
Even though it's a chain, (I'm not big on chains) it feels like a local place. The staff was friendly and you could tell they really want to help. They also seemed to remember or simply know a lot of people.
Now, I love salmon. Yet, I've never recieved good salmon from a fast casual place. I won't say fast food because you could tell they started cooking as soon as I placed the order. The wait was not too long and it was worth it. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the had tater tots on the menu. I know it's not your usually combination, but it made me happy. I was also able to get a side salad which was nice especially for the price. I will definitely try others to see if this was a one off experience.
Stopped and ate as we were in town for travel soccer, first time eating at a Showmars.
It is different in the experience, it's a fast food approach take in you order at the counter from a fast food style menu but the food is higher quality and a mix of Greek, seafood, burgers. It's a weird range mix but the food was really good and portion sizes larger to support the slightly higher prices if comparing to fast food places.....but it's not a fast food place, just a fast food business model.
We had the gyro, burger and seafood platters. Food was all good tasting, staff was nice, and pricing for what we got was good.
Recommend you trying it.
The food was delicious. We got our food quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great experience. I got the Mediterranean grilled vegetables on a bed of rice with a side Greek salad. My husband got the flounder and shrimp.
This place deserves more praise. It is truly amazing. The food is delicious, fresh and prepared well.
I enjoyed the Chicken Santorini Platter, it came with a side salad.
For the price you get a lot of food. It’s worth a visit. :)
My meal was great. The gyro was delicious and I really like the Greek pasta salad vs fries as a side. This place is pretty new and it seems like they keep it clean and tidy.

This is by far the best location I have ever eaten at period. It was told to me by a cashier that it's only two years old. I truly hope this food sames the same. You can clearly see they change the cooking grease here. The place it extremely clean. I'm posting pictures so you can see for yourself. I give it 5 stars despite the entrance needs to be improved for those that use wheelchairs. My friend and I help assist a person in a wheelchair gain entry. The doors could be fitted with a automatic open button. The main double door are not really wide enough for some wheelchairs without causes some kind of damage to doors or wheelchairs. But besides this quick fix it's a must visit location. Manager was training at the time of visit and still was serving customers. That's a plus being many managers seem to want things done as they just watch. Two thumbs up for this manager. I must send a shout out to the cooking and the young lady working the line orders. She can really multi task and difficulty someone that can run a fast food or restaurant eatery. I visited this location today February 03, 2021 just before shift change at 5 o'clock. Thanks for the fresh, fresh, fresh food.... I forgot to say that it has a drive thru window. It move in a timely manner as well
I have lived in Charlotte for 25 years and cant believe that I have never tried Showmars.
Finally went since I had a craving for a gyro. I thought the Afton Ridge location was nice and clean and the service was very good. I think the food rating will largely be driven off what you pick and I found some things better than others. My Santorini chicken pita and crinkle cut fries was awesome. The chicken was hot off the grill and made the the pita nice and soft and moist. The fries were nice and crispy.
On my second try, I went with the gyro pita and onion rings. For me, this was not as good. This was more room temperature and not as warm and juicy as the chicken. The onion rings were large and looked good, but the batter was probably the same as used on the fish and was a bit flaky and just kind of fell off.
100% I will go back. I've learned that you dont have to love everything on the menu for it to be a good restaurant. Just find the things you like.
