The cafe con leche is a the best and they make their own ham for the eggs and ham. None of that awful pressed stuff. Ask for Marta - the best server. In obtrusive and efficient. She has a following.
Awesome place they hooked us with a bunch of food. Me and my dad couldn't even finish our steak milnesas. Them shits were huge. Great customer service as well. Will definitely go again
It was my first stop on my Miami food tour, I loved it. The food (croquetas and empenadas) were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and promp I can't wait to return to Miami and revisit
Wonderful spot for breakfast on a Saturday with friends. Great service too.

Every city has their local institution when it comes to food and Sergio’s is one of them in Miami. Inspired by Cuban cuisine, they have been serving their customers since 1975 and when my friend suggested we would go there for breakfast I was delighted. They have several locations and we went to the one in Coral Gables. The decor is very rustic and you feel the family type environment when you walk in. It’s nothing fancy but it feels very welcoming.
Like. Delicious cuban sandwiches! Wonderful ambiance if you sit outside at night for dinner. Not very expensive.
Dont Bother.. Sergio's is often busy. That just has to be because of the location.
Located across from Winn Dixie on busy Coral Way, close to the beginning of Miracle Mile, Sergios is very well placed to take advantage of the passersby who enjoy Cuban food. I'm sure they do.
I stopped by at 11am and was ravenous, ordered Masas de Puerco (my favorite Cuban dish) and a Bud Light. Newcastle was the beer of the day, I didn't think that went particularly well with Cuban food. A Blue Moon maybe, but Newcastle? Not for me.
At $9.99 the Masas de Puerco cost 2 or 3 dollars more than I'm used to paying elsewhere. There was one special of the day, whose name I forget, similarly one special soup too, whose name I also forget. At the Cuban restaurants I go to more frequently, Las Vegas in Coral Gables and El Christo on Calle Ocho, they always have a few specials of the day to choose from. That's fun.
Back to Sergios.
Sitting outside, I had told my server that I needed to be served fast. One reason was that I had an appointment in half an hour. The other was my alarmingly low blood sugar level. If I didn't eat soon I knew I'd be liable to pass out/feel ill/murder somebody. I was most of the way through my beer when I realised 'Hey, this is a Cuban restaurant, shouldn't someone be bringing me bread?!'.
But no-one did.
(Most Cuban restaurants serve you a dish of flaky, toasted and buttered Cuban bread gratis whilst you wait for your meal.)
I'm not sure whether anyone else in the restaurant got bread either. The couple behind me noticed when I tried to peek at their table. Yes they had the plastic platters that bread usually comes in and so did other tables. But they may have been eating sandwiches. They also come in platters like that.
Eventually my meal came, it took over ten minutes to come. Given I said I was in a rush I really don't think that was good enough. Maybe it even took 20mins. When you're in a blood sugar crisis things get confusing.
The pork most definitely looked like it had been first fried yesterday, again today. Over the chunks of pork in Masas de Puerco are sliced onions. The onions today included the tougher, thicker outer skin of the onion which I've never experienced in any other other cuisine but Cuban. Cuban restaurants often include them in their meals and I don't like it.
The plantains looked like they had been made fresh, although they weren't as soft (cooked as long) as I like. Most plantains that you get with Cuban food in Miami do tend to be very soft. The black beans and rice - well, they were like black beans and rice. Unremarkable.
Funnily enough I just went to Sergio's (rather attractive) website to get their address and the correct name of my favorite dish (Masas de Puercos), and they have a photo of the same looking just like I described them - over-fried (above). They remind me of the way Nigerians like to cook their meat before making delicious stews, frying it twice.
It's not the way I'm used to eating Masas de Puercos and you have only to look at how fat a lot of Nigerians are to see that double-frying food is fattening (that and the masses of oil they use in their cooking traditionally). Some people like eating fatty foods and being fat, personally I avoid both.
The best you usually get in a Cuban restaurant is 'OK' food - food that fills you, a few flavors, gives you the energy to go on. Even the most popular restaurants like Versailles and La Carretta aren't even so good when it comes to flavor and fine dining. If you've been to Versailles or La Carretta you'll think - 'Fine dining? That's a joke!'. Quite.
Similarly Sergios may get pretty busy but it's not great food. It's barely passable food. Today is not the first time I've been to Sergios and today I went for the same reason I went before - it's on the way, it's filling, it should at least be more healthy than the McDonalds beside it.
Other than that, why bother?
Hoppin' Cuban Diner. A local recommended this place to us for the best Cuban food in the area. It's a very bustling diner feel, with booths and counters and clanking dishes all around.
Staff will speak Spanish at first, but didn't seem put out to speak English either.
Had the masas de puerco which had a fabulous flavor but the meat was a little dry. Rice, beans, plantains, all good. The cuban sandwich, ironically, was our least favorite as we thought the bread was too much and too dry. Maybe that's authentic, I don't know, but we didn't prefer it.
Very filling dinners and two beers for $26. Can't beat that. Glad we tried it.
Yummy!. We love this place! great cuban food and quick service, all at an excellent price!
Affordable. Fair price, fair atmosphere, fast service. Good food, best rice in town! I love this place.
Be prepare to leave the restaurant smelling like fried food.
It was our favorite cuban cafeteria for a few years but the food is too greasy and heavy at times. Portions are generous always enough for leftovers. Outdoor space and indoor ambiance quite nice and service is ok.
Good and cheap. great coffee too.
This Cuban food rocks. We were tipped by our bell boy at the Ritz in Coconut Grove as to his favorite Cuban eatery. Boy was his recommendation an excellent one. They delivered to our hotel and it's affordable. That's all we ate it was that good.
EXCELLENT!!! LOVE IT!!! the white rice is the best!!! The palomilla, the chicken breast!!! Everything and at a great price!!!

Good food good atmosphere, no frills just a nice place.
...Sergio’s has been atop my Cuban Restaurant Power Poll since 1996. If you want the best croqueta’s you’ve ever had, go to Sergio’s. If you want the best batido de mamey money can buy, head to Sergio’s. The breakfast special of scrambled eggs with ham, Cuban toast with butter and café con leche, is like 4 dollars. My favorite part might be the little window outside, where you can order a little coffee, some snacks and shoot the shit with some locals.
The pork most definitely looked like it had been first fried yesterday, again today. Over the chunks of pork in Masas de Puerco are sliced onions. The onions today included the tougher, thicker outer skin of the onion which I’ve never experienced in any other other cuisine but Cuban. Cuban restaurants often include them in their meals and I don’t like it.
This place is always a classic that never disappoints. The outdoor seating has such an awesome vibe. Indoor service is great as well. Food is always fresh and prices are very reasonable. Not a fan of their drinks but hey, the food is good. For that, you can have a beer. Coffee and toasted bread are amazing - that alone is worth the visit.
A great Cuban experience with great flavors and even better prices. The coffee is absolutely delicious, 5 stars! The food also great, we’ve tried the sandwiches a couple of times and never disappointed. This time we tried the chicken soup and the Cuban Cobb Salad, perfect for a low carb diet, abundant in color and flavors. And of course the croquetas and mariquitas are a must to start any meal experience. Both patio and indoors are very confortable and offer plenty of space, not too loud, beautiful decor and the coffee aroma is unbelievable.
Definitely one of my favorite recommendations to my family and friends when visiting Miami.
Thank you 🙏🏻 ☕️🥗
Amazing, legendary service!!!! Amazing food, Very clean and sanitary. The ambience was amazingly fabulous and I am absolutely grateful to have experience such an amazing restaurant.
Good food good service! I've wanted to try this spot for some time... finally had the chance.. and it did not disappoint. Liked everything that came out. Got the flattened chicken with black beans and broccoli as well as a croqueta, a friend got a steak with rice... not sure what the other friend got but it looked good and he loves his dish also.
Awesome breakfasts. Benedicts are the best option. Muy serviciales. They adapt the combos and the sides for you.
**keto and paleo people, you are perfeclt here.
*if you under a low carbs diet, check "la flaca" area on the menu.
I’ve never been in the Sergio’s before. It was the perfect day to try it. Ismelis, my server, was really kind and amazing. She made sure I had everything I needed. She also recommended the mimosa with watermelon juice and it was DELICIOUS!
Thank you Ismelis for making my time at Sergio’s pleasant.
Food was pretty good. Typical Cuban cuisine. Service was excellent and fast. Friendly family atmosphere. Plenty of parking and the prices are OK. We paid $23 for 2 breakfasts with toast and coffee.
We went back for dinner, the food was delicious. The garlic bread is outstanding. They have a really nice outdoor eating area.
