Fantastic. I heard from a friend I had to try the Barbacoa and Chroizo and Egg tacos. Those were awesome and I also gave the Carne Guisada taco a shot. Quite tasty as well and I will definitely return often.
Fantastic breakfast tacos. Had the chorizo and eggs. Nice big flour tortillas. Served with both red and green salsa.

Yummy!. Best barbacoa in town! Owners are very clean and the food is fast and delicious! My family and friends and I eat here all the time and I highly recommend it.
First time here , even though we go to Farmers Market most Saturdays. I wanted the special but they were out , it was almost 2 pm and they close . I got a crispy taco , bean tostada and enchilada with gravy , and rice. All were very good . No chops and salsa , again they were out. I will go early another day.
My favorite place for breakfast tacos. Their flour tortillas are so good. Everything here is awesome and in addition to their barbacoa, they are known for their Carne Guisada as featured in Texas Monthly Magazine. I always recommend this spot to friends or family visiting the area and they never disappoint.
Awesome!! Authentic barbacoa food, came here just for that. I will come back. Refried beans were delicious. Food came out quickly and service was excellent and prices are VERY reasonable. Although dining area is a bit small doesnt matter, you will wait for this delicious food. Dining area was clean. Staff are very friendly and respectful.
The portions were large for the price. The carne guisada was out of this world. The one thing was the tortillas were a little too thin for my taste but not bad. Service was excellent and waitress was on top of everything.

I always enjoy finding these types of places! Good tasted home cooked and the service was very attentive. The kids got pancakes and I tried the barbaboa plate and a carne guisada taco. The coffee was delicious and everything was really good. Very happy I saw this place and all the good reviews were spot on.
I've been going to Southside Barbacoa since around 2001 when they were at their original location.
This place is a gem, a true glittering gem in the taco stratosphere.
The family that owns this place has been plying their craft consistently and perfectly for many years.
I travel fulltime around the nation and this place is a must-visit if you are ever in the Corpus Christi area.
My personal favorite is not on the menu but they will make it for you if you ask them. Go for the "Eric Taco" potato, egg, bean, cheese, and bacon on a flour tortilla. Get two of them and ask for their green sauce. You won't be disappointed.
Of all the breakfast tacos I've ever had (and I've had many) this place will always be the standard to which I compare the rest.

We tried this place over the weekend and it was great! The menudo was recommended by more than 1 local and it did not disappoint. This place is small but delicious ❤️ We'll be back!!
Southside Barbacoa serves consistently fresh and authentic Mexican American breakfast and lunch dishes. Homemade influenced lunch specials such as chicken mole are superb and remind me of my mother's cooking. The Barbacoa they sell is outstanding. Customers who frequent the restaurant always know that the great customer service and the food will always be what they have come accustomed to.
Wow I love to eat at two places chacos and Southside babacoca and I don't like cheese the best barbacoa in town and chacos have the best carne guisada..

We had cheese enchiladas and carne guisada. Both were excellent. Small family restaurant. Everything is homemade and made fresh. I've never seen my hispanic wife eat every single thing on her plate before today. She says this is where we go to eat Mexican food from now on. Can't wait to try the barbacoa that they only serve on weekends. I would give 6 stars if I could 🥰👍👌😃
We tried about a dozen restaurants to find the best breakfast tacos in the area. This place hits the mark! The staff is so friendly, the food is amazing, the prices are extremely reasonable. We've tried breakfast and lunch, you really can't go wrong with any selection on their menu. Their tortillas are very fresh, breakfast tacos are superb, and their lunch enchiladas are incredible. Always happy to give our business to them and recommend them to others :)
