Excellent service, excellent food and excellent atmosphere. If you ever have a chance to try the smoked sturgeon taco, do it! It’s the BEST taco I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to come back!!

Is not typical Mexican food, but was delicious. The place so cute and the service very good. The salsa was the best. Like my grandma’s.

You haven't lived until you try the steak tacos here, grilled over a wood fire, topped with a thick piece of bacon and a dab of spicy sauce. Seriously.

Inventive, authentic, fresh, savory, reasonable spice, a truly inspiring culinary experience. It's pricy but what's extraordinary and isn't? We paired the wine with the four courses and it was okay; but you're not going there for the wine. Their "winearita" was extremely tasty. I highly recommend and don't try without reservations; it's not going to happen.

Amazing. Ordered all the tacos just to try. They were all five stars!!! Crispy potatoes, spicy mole, the most succulent pork belly, grapes/cod/cabbage and the stellar steak and bacon. Yum. Will be back for taco Tuesday soon!

This is the place to visit for elevated chef driven Mexican food. These are not your average tacos. Beautifully executed food, amazing flavor profiles. Chef Salgado presents Mexican cuisine with artful precision. It is no wonder he has gotten such wonderful accolades on some of that country's best culinary publications. I will be back!

Every time I've been here, I have not been disappointed. The first time I was there, I was surprised at how they had elevated Mexican cuisine, and how much finesse and care went into the dishes. Each dish is different and takes you on a nice culinary ride of sweet, sour, spicy, bitter, and umami. The atole at the end is always a nice way to end a meal.

Food is excellent!!!!! Service is another story. Waited too long to get drink order and even water. Left sitting for 10 minutes. Maybe because it was too busy?

I had Brassicas, a warm salad of pan roasted baby brussels sprouts and cauliflower tossed in a tart dressing and served with a cilantro and pumpkin seed salsa. I chose the Jardineros for my entre. Blue corn tortillas filled with shiitake mushroom chorizo, crispy potato and queso fundido. All washed down with a agua Fresca of hibiscus and pomegranate. So delicious.

Well, with the help of a friend and coworker I was recommended to go visit her cousins restaurant. We were met at the door by the owners of the restaurant and they were totally cordial and professional. The food is absolutely amazing. We went for taco Tuesday and were very surprised at the uniqueness of each bite we took. Extremely fresh, extremely delicious, would highly recommend anybody that wants a unique experience to go visit taco Maria. Carlos is truly a mad scientist when it comes to food mixing. So the portions are not huge you feel 110% satisfied at the end of your meal. No need for overindulgence just wonderful food. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening last night.

Went for brunch today with my wife and two young daughters (11 month old and 3 year old). We have been several times before and as always the food is truly amazing! However, what I was impressed with the most today even more so was the service. My 3 year old was being impatient and kept asking for a donut. Five minutes later the receptionist walks up to our table with a box of mini cupcakes from Susie Cakes. Needless to say my daughter was thrilled. An act of kindness like that cannot be written into a training manual, she genuinely cared about her customer! Serving delicious food will warrant great reviews but servicing the customer in this way will guarantee they keep coming back!!!

Most expensive tacos I've ever had, but they are absolutely delicious. Worth the money - no, but I keep coming back for the chicken mole and the hanger steak tacos because they are soooo good.

Been here a few times and always have left impressed! Reservations are definitely needed, it’s a very popular and in demand place. Also come very hungry, the courses don’t skimp - which is a good thing, just left stuffed! Flavors on all dishes were excellent, some complex, and some just down right comforting. Service and dining experience was also really good!

I really enjoyed everything. I’ve been to many restaurants in Mexico. The food is very authentic with a Michelin star quality twist. The pork belly and fish tacos I recommend. The cornbread is also good. I have been to a few Michelin star restaurants in the area. This beat out a few other Michelin star restaurants. The service was also very good. Everyone was very attentive. The chef came out and greeted a customer too. I would recommend coming here for a unique experience.

It's easy to understand why Chef Carlos Salgado has accumulated so many culinary accolades and why Taco Maria is Michelin rated. He does it right, blending, culture and taste with artistry. The food, the service and wine pairing for each course of the Prix Fixe was exceptional. Treat yourself to a dinner at Taco Maria and you'll thank yourself for the experience.

Food was great, had the scallops, mushrooms, striped bass, and grilled avocado. Striped bass was game changing, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked bass. Blue corn tortilla was the highlight of it all and brought all the main dishes together. The waiter changed a few times during our dinner, but the other two waitresses were incredibly nice.

[1 Michelin Star] Tacos Tuesday is on point, follow me! Highlights of the menu: 1. Aguachile: MX bay scallop crudo, persian cucumber, jalapeno, pink guava, lime 2. Camarones a la diabla: blackened prawns, chile morita, black lime crema 3. Chuleta de porco: grilled Kurobuta pork, bacon chorizo, gold dust peach, marigold 4. Aguacate tatemado: charred avocado, toasted cumin, hazelnut oil 5. Raspado de Melon: frozen Weiser Farms melon, Straus yoghurt mousse, anise hyssop, blueberry Drinks: 6. Iced mango-ceylon tea 7. Margarita clasica Such a great ambience and vibe for this spot with industrial design and candle lighting. This spot has both indoor and outdoor seating areas. I love how simple and modern this place is. Such a cute spot! The food here is incredibly good!! I fall in love at first bite with both the shrimp and scallop dishes. Such a great balance to pick these 2 dishes to have together as appertizers! The drinks are so good and once again, I have to say that I love both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic ones. So good!! Worth the 1 star Michelin earned. The best of the flavor and presentation. Everything was on point! I love how pretty all the dishes are decorated with edible flowers. I think I need to come back just to order 2 of the deserts. The best I have had in the last month so far.

Capturing the heart of Mexican cuisine with a very inventive and personal approach, it's easy to see why Taco Maria has earned a Michelin star and its many accolades. Chef Salgado creates inspiring and exciting dishes, plated simply yet elegantly. His staff is patient and knowledgeable, welcoming but not overbearing. The restaurant is small, with most tables seated on the patio, and tables are somewhat close together. If you're cold, the staff will offer you a cozy Mexican blanket to wrap around yourself while you dine. If you're lucky enough to snag one of the tables inside, you are treated to an open kitchen where you can view where some of the magic happens. But, the real treat is in the food itself. Make sure to book early, as it's nearly impossible to get a table on short notice.

Excellent service, super tasty cuisine with Mexican-fusion mix. The only minus it’s a small place for 3 tables, so they use the terrace and keep it open what's makes it too cold inside 🥶 During an hour of dinner, I completely froze without taking off my jacket, so dress warmly for this place.

Monique made tonight really special. She helped us navigate the menu and everything she recommended was on point. The food was divine. We didn't take a photo of the beans. But let me tell you. These beans were something else. You have never had beans like this before. The scallops were so melt in your mouth fresh and the guava paired so well w the spice and citrus. So good. The shrimp were so good and spicy. The heads were so crispy and then so creamy inside. And again so fresh and the fingerling limes were such a great and fresh touch. The duck mole. I couldn't figure out who was the star. The duck or the mole but lord the texture and nutty flavor were soooo good. I don't have the words. The pickles were crisp and amazingly flavored. The desert had such depth and flavor the orange really just rounded everything out. We were so happy with the experience. I can't wait to come back.

Taco Maria. Santa Maria. This place is heavenly. Where do I start. The location is quaint and unassuming elegant but nothing about it is ordinary. Even the caesar salad is Amazing. I mean it is extraordinary. The cheese on it is so good. The agua fresca I had with it was a perfect pairing. The service was top notch, everything about the place is great. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in OC.
