Coming here for two years and I think it’s the best black garlic Ramen I’ve had. I live in Placentia and we take the ride!!

❤️ Delicious and great service! We've tried so many Ramen spots and this one has everything we like. Yamadaya Bowl is my fav with side of karage. ❤️

Delicioso, todas y cada una de las cosas que probamos estuvieron exquisitas. Tuvimos que esperar un rato porque había mucha gente, pero la atención del personal, la calidad y el sabor de los alimentos hicieron que valiera la pena!!!

So, my husband takes me here, and I'm furious because I'm not in the mood for "noodles". I quickly ate those words and almost everything in my bowl (almost everything, because they give you SOOOO MUCH!) The BEST RAMEN I've ever had still from this restaurant that always has a waiting list of people trying to dine there!! If you are in Costa Mesa, you have to stop here - you will LOVE IT!!

Pretty good ramen! I still like Daikokuya the best because for me it has a more hearty feel to it. The over all quality of yamada is good though. I also like how if you show them a student ID, they upgrade your bowl too large for free.

My husband and i keep coming back to this place. Their tonkotsu ramen is delicious along with their other small dishes. I always add black garlic oil and chili oil in my ramen. Sooooo goood.

This place is perfect to satisfy my ramen cravings. There's usually a wait here, and you might end up being seated with others small parties, but it's not a big deal. I am never disappointed here.

Overall all its good. I have no complaints over taste or service, but the pricing seemed a bit high for the level of quality of the food.

LOVE this ramen restaurant and visit as often as we can! They have hot and cold ramen, ramen salads, all sorts of pickled vegetables, assorted white meats and fish. Something for everyone.

Definitely one of the best ramen shops in this area. Black garlic tonkotsu with spicy paste and extra garlic is my go to.

This is my favorite ramen place in the area so far. Excellent base flavor, not overly salty, and the packaging is great compared to other ramen restaurants, in that the to-go bowl they provide is deep and wide and equipped on top with a separate but attached compartment that holds the toppings and noodles.

Had to review right away. This broth is sooooo tasty. I just moved to the area and have been trying out a bunch of ramen spots the past couple weeks. This one really stood out to me. I ordered the tonkotsu miso ramen and added the chili oil (?) they gave me since I asked for spicy. Wow. Think I'm done searching for now!! They also gave an extra egg since I asked for no chashu, which I loved! Most places don't do that for me (i know I'm missing out. I don't eat pork except for the broth lol) Another standout part of their ramen is the noodles. I didn't realize I had forgotten what good noodles tasted like until I ate these! I'll definitely be ordering again very soon.

Me and my friends used to go here for years until we noticed the quality diminishing. The broth isn't as well made and the portions feel smaller as well. Overall, they serve a good ramen and have friendly workers, but I can say with confidence as a customer for a few years now that their quality definitely has gone down.

You might not expect a whole lot judging from the outside but this place is one of the better ramen places locally. Huge bowls, flavorful broth without being overpowering, and good service. It gets a little busy at times and you'll often see families dining together but I've never had a bad time here. If you are curious it is worth a try for sure.

We always share the fried rice and karaage as a family of three. They are super delicious and hot and i crave more each time i have it. I see they have good lunch specials and meant to go by before covid but my lunch break was at 1030 and they open at 11 so i couldn't make it. It would have been the best lunch ever! Good lunch specials and nice team 👌

This place is the best. The pork belly is tender, juicy, and amazing. The broth is rich and flavorful. A little pricy but the ramen and beer make up for it! The appetizers are pretty good too! The fried chicken was juicy but a little bland. We also tried the squid bites and they were very fishy but my friends really liked them.

There's several Japanese restaurants in this part of the city but Ramen Yamadaya has one of the better ramen. The noodles are fresh and the soup base very rich, thick and yummy. Also, they put a lot of meat on it. The Gyoza is very tender and delicious. At this point, indoor dining is allowed although, because of restrictions, the Gyoza came in styrofoam boxes. Overall price is very reasonable. Parking is not an issue, major credit cards accepted.

We have gone here since they opened. Very consistent ramen. Excellent quality control. They are known for tonkotsu ramen, the heavy pork type. It is always good. We always ask for half salt since ramen is usually very salty in general everywhere we go. Usually they have a wait. This place is a solid bet and is a regular part of our rotation.

Good food. Always packed here, it seems (or maybe the dark walls just make it seem more crowded than it is). Loses one negligible star from me only because their spiciest broth really isn't spicy at all, at least, by my standards (I've had ghost pepper sauces without flinching). If you want really good ramen and truly spicy soup, try the ramen place (I forget the name) inside the Tokyo Central grocery store at the corner of Harbor & Adams.

This was my first authentic Japanese Ramen experience and it did not disappoint at all. Originally I was going to go to a different place, but it was super crowded and a small restaurant that could not accommodate. We looked up Ramen Yamagaya by accident and it was fate because after tasting their ramen I was blown away. The flavor is on point and succulent. The broth is just super rich and you feel at home when you slurp those long delicious noodles that are perfectly al dente. We won’t go anywhere else for Ramen now. There’s no point. The restaurant is very open and you feel at home. The service is great. Can get a little lacking when it gets busy but it’s understandable when the business picks up because IT DOES and now I understand why.
