I attended a mixer event held by Regal Resources at this location. The atmosphere is elegant and modern with an awesome staff and delicious food. After the event we stayed for dinner and I highly recommend ordering the roasted brussel sprouts and the bacon wrapped dates for snacks. We ordered multiple pizzas, including the bone marrow pizza which was exquisite! My main course was the Scottish Salmon which was flavorful and fresh. We ended our dinner with a chocolate tiramisu and the tropical panna cotta. This is a great place to visit for a date and the view of South Coast Plaza is beautiful.

Terrace did provide a great and tasty experience for my family! We reserved a table for 6 People. We were seated outside and near the bridge to the other section of the mall we really did enjoy the view and air I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it took maybe 17 minutes or so the pizza Was absolutely amazing it was very cheesy and full of pepperoni and fresh and the crust added the crunch to my family enjoyed but it was very expensive.

I like to come here for weekend brunch, specially just enjoying the ambiancce at their patio. I like that the Chef, being a Filipino has added some Filipino fusion to his dishes to enjoy such as the Pork cheek Adobo with rich and the Shrimp Lumpia. Their menu is simple but definitely covers the cravings of a foodie. They have Bone Marrow Pizza that is so good, although I heard the pork belly pizza is equally great they say. I need to try this one. Their salads are all great and their cocktails they serve during brunch are refreshing! Service is at par and nothing to complain about. I like going here on a regular basis!
Nice resto with good terrace to chill and eat with a good view. I loved their albacore tostadas the most.
My husband and I went for lunch on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked the food and ambiance! We sat in the “outside” area and loved how open and green it was. It had kind of a tropical, resort-y vibe. It was not crowded at all and had plenty of space.
We both ended up getting the $30 express lunch that came with a starter, entree, and dessert. We also got an order of the epi baguette, which was phenomenal. Overall I would definitely come here again, especially for lunch!
What we ate:
- Butternut squash soup: excellent flavor and texture.
- Albacore tataki: Flavorful and fresh with lots of greens (onion, radish, cilantro).
- Shrimp fra diavolo: Creamy garlic sauce with just cooked salty shrimp. At first I thought it was a touch plain but the saltiness of the shrimp helped.
- Fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries: Massive portion! The gochujang sauce paired nicely with the cucumbers and chicken. It could’ve been a touch too greasy but the heat and the cucumber helped a lot. The fries were also cooked to perfection, with a slight crunchiness to the outside but soft when you bit down.
- Matcha and Japanese whisky ice cream: The Japanese whiskey was excellent. The matcha was good too, but nothing unique.
- Peach and mango sorbet: I loved the sweetness of the peach and the small peach chunks embedded in the sorbet. The mango was also nice and fresh, but nothing phenomenal.
I loved the outdoor area. The ferns hanging from the ceiling have drawn me in. The Menue is upscale and the prices are ok. The Duck was so good , I'll definitely come back for it. The Risotto was a little bland. I had better ones before.
The pizza is delicious and the Brusselsprouts to die for. The arrangement of the plate was funny, my partner had to leave and repark the car, when he came back he thought I already ate half of it 🙃
I would've loved a bigger portion of Burrata.
The service was quick , the waiters really kind.
One of our favorite restaurants in Costa Mesa.
The food here is amazing!!
You have to try the Bone Marrow Pizza.
Everything on the menu is delicious!
The stuff here very professional and friendly.
If it wasn't because of Eater's recommendation, I would have never thought of trying out a restaurant IN A MALL! Food was excellent. Menu was meat heavy and rich which was a surprise but perhaps a reflection of the neighborhood taste? Food tasted wonderful. Our server was excellent. Wine list is small. Yes. We would return.

Chef Ross is back at South Coast Plaza and better than ever with the opening of this new restaurant. The restaurant features a large outdoor patio complete with twinkle light and an intimate indoor dining space. The food - AMAZING! There are some menu items from his other restaurant (Mix Mix) in Costa Mesa along with a lot of new items. Plus, right now he if offering a $15 three course lunch special of weekdays! Score! This place is guaranteed to be your favorite dining spot in South Coast Plaza!
I have eaten here & have ordered to-go here, and I am wildly obsessed with their pork cheek fried rice adobo. Then for weekend brunch, I am also obsessed with their Filipino breakfast! I’m a Pinay, and I seldomly rave about Filipino food however, Terrace by Mix Mix did it so well! The flavors are well-balanced & you can tell the ingredients are really good! Bravo!! I highly recommend the dishes above. I can’t wait to get another order from y’all!!
We went there around 1:30 PM on a busy Saturday and they were able to squeeze us in right away. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was! Everything had so much flavor, yet was light. Nothing we ate was overly rich. Seems like a lot of their items were house-made, like their pasta dough, pizza dough, etc. We split the soft egg raviolo and albacore tostada as appetizers. We also split the carbonara pizza and mussels. Everything was perfectly cooked, fresh, and well seasoned. The mussels were in an herb, garlic, and butter sauce and topped with some of the pizza dough. Very fresh and I’m very impressed.
Awesome foods!
It was my first time visiting and I ordered a new menu of eggplant pizza recommend by a very kind server(the name was Peter). super yummy and everything was satisfying. I will definitely come back!
Cute place to grab lunch while shopping at South Coast. Make reservations because it does get full pretty quick. We got the express lunch menu which included a albacore tostada, Crispy Pork Belly with Couscous, and a choice of Sorbet or Ice cream. The tostada was so delicious and refreshing! I could definitely eat a few of those. Everything was so flavorful!
Good location, good ambiance, good menu. I do find the menu a little limited. The menu is a Filipino fusion. They have ensaymada taste french toast, serve with ethier duck or with Ube ice cream. I had a pork cheek adobo, with fried egg and hollaindaise sc on fried garlic rice. It was good it was just a little salty for me. Service was just ok. Food presentation was good. Our group enjoyed our lunch in this restaurant. Hope to be back here soon.
We were a party of 4 who opted for the Chef's Counter Tasting Menu. For this, you make a $10/person deposit which is applied to the $85/person, 6-course prix fixe. Generally, I LOVE chef's counter/table and tasting menus; this was no different. This tasting menu was more approachable (read: great bang for your buck in a nice-casual setting); it was very reasonably priced for what we got without the formality of fine dining...which is exactly what we wanted. Chef Trevor is an amazing chef; our group just LOVED every bite of each dish, using the bread that was served in the first course to soak up the sauces on the other dishes. Everything was flavourful, each dish was unique and cooked just perfectly (not overdone and not underdone).
There are a couple things I would change. We had to frequently ask for water. We were provided one small carafe for four people and it would have been nice if a server kept an eye on this...but we had a 3pm reservation and perhaps we were in between services (though if a 3pm seating is offered, someone should keep an eye out for us). The other is that I would have liked a written/printed menu of our courses. While Chef Trevor explained each dish, it's nice to refer back to notes, esp bc he's too busy to entertain questions (he did anyway) and he's on the shyer side. Toward the end, Kenny came on shift and he was a phenomenal front-of-house presence. We would've liked to have had him present from the beginning. Anyway, Chef Trevor & Kenny make for an awesome duo.
Logistics: Terrace by Mix Mix is housed in the Bear St wing (just west) of South Coast Plaza, immediately across the Bridge of Gardens on the third floor. Parking can be accessed from Bear St.
Reservations: these can be made on Tock. As of now, there are two seatings: at 3 and 6 pm, Thu-Sat.
This is truly a great value for such wonderful food. I think it started off as a mix of Filipino and American flavours which evolved into something delicious. We plan to come back soon.
We stopped here because the outdoor seating looked super relaxing. The brunch menu was really intriguing so even though we'd had lunch, we decided to grab an app and dessert. The goat cheese toast is amazing and perfect for two to share! The desserts were decadent and perfect, especially the tropical fruit terrine. Highly recommend and will return to try dinner soon.
