Possibly the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. Anyway, I can't even remember the 2nd best right now. OmuNomuNomu!

Ingredients sourced from Japan. Best fried Chicken in Costa Mesa if you ask me. This chicken tastes incredible. Authentic as it gets here in the states. They also have some great sushi. I've tried the Spicy Tuna bowl and it was really good in comparison to others I've had.

By far the best karaage I’ve ever had. You come in and the workers are quick to take your order. I usually just get the karaage pieces by itself. Then they tell you to wait 10 minutes so they can prepare your food hot and fresh. It’s soo juicy and good. If you’re in the mood for some juicy fried chicken, I’d highly recommend this karaage place.

This place is up there in terms of fried chicken quality. A very nice fry on all the chicken with very flavorful sauces if you go that route. While it is fried chicken, it doesn’t feel overly Bready and is actually a great amount of chicken. Price point is very reasonable and the combo give a great amount of food!

If you have never had chicken karage before or you wonder what it is, this is it. This is where you try it and determine if you like it or not. It is so good here. It is significantly better here than other places.

I am not a huge fan of fried chicken but this place has the best karage I have eaten since Japan. The chicken is juicy and the fry is perfect. I had the bento box and chose tempura, cali roll, and potato salad. Lots of food and great value. I will be coming back again!

This place gives you a LOT of food for what you order, we picked a few choices and were completely full and still took home more than half of the food. They have excellent fried Chicken that pairs well with beer, but you gotta be into the chewy stuff. Friendly service and tasty food, excellent value and we will be back for sure

I try Karaage chicken at most japanese restaurants I go to but this place has the best I've had. The crunch and tenderness are spot on. I met the owner and she was very nice and knew everything about the restaurant. I really haven't tried the other items on the menu but if you like japanese fried chicken this is the place to go.

Boneless thigh karaage w sweet & spicy, and sweet & sour sauces on the side: Omg! This place is so good! I'm honestly not too much of a fan of karaage compared to regular fries chicken but this seriously changed my mind. It's super crunchy and light and there's extra skin pieces that are pulled apart so they are extra crispy. I love it!!! Not too oily either but it's fried so it's still gonna be oily. The sweet and spicy sauce kind of reminds me of a slightly spiced sweet and sour but with a stronger soy flavor. The sweet and sour is super unique and I was trying to pinpoint what flavor I was tasting and strawberry came to mind; it sounds weird but it actually works bc it's not too sweet and has that slight sour zing!!!

My brother suggested one of his fave places for lunch and offered to do a pickup since parking can be a hassle in that strip plaza. I chose #17 on the Box menu, which is a combination karaage (3 pcs thigh and 3 pcs wings). I’ve never been there before, so I wanted to try all the things! The box menu delivered on a little bit of everything since it came with rice, miso soup, and choice of 3 different side options labeled as A, B & C. Side A offered choice of tempura, croquettes or 2 pcs karaage. Side B offered California roll, veggie roll or edamame. Side C offered green salad or steamed veggies. For my entree, I selected tempura, veggie rolls and green salad. It was a well rounded meal and pretty filling. The thigh karaage pieces were generously portioned and so juicy! The wings were crispy, but I think I would go all in for the karaage next time. Definitely would like to come back to try their gizzard, tartar karaage, cartilage and gaburi (deep fried whole thigh). I am tempted to order their Family Pack 1 too, but we’ll see what happens when I’m back.

First off this is some of the best cooed chicken I have ever had in my life, and I'm seriously picky and critical. Second, it's Gluten free!!! The only bad part is that the sauces are not GF, but the chicken doesn't need it! It is cooked through, but still juicy and tender. The breading has a great crisp that my wife compared to that of a pork rind, in a good way. Definitely a must try if your in the area. Third, the portion are huge! I usually 12-18 wings at BWW, but here I feel like I barely made a dent. My wife and I got a 20 piece and that was our leftovers in the picture.

Really tasty karaage! Also the biggest pieces I’ve seen. I ordered the 8 piece not expecting each piece to be so substantial. Nice and crispy and very tender. I ordered the spicy tuna roll too and this did not disappoint. There’s a few tables and counter but this is mostly a take away business. A must try!

The new revamped Sushi Box is a gorgeous space now, if still small. But it doesn't matter because their kaarage (Japanese fried chicken ) is freaking amazing. This is a great, and affordable, lunch spot.

It's a good place if you're craving for some karaage. It fits the bill for lunch. It's quick. Parking can be hard since the lot is small. The place is small itself. Would recommend calling ahead vs coming in if you knew the menu. If you stay inside the store long enough your skin will be coated with a layer of oil. Air ventilation isn't good there. Would recommend dropping by though!

Bestest gluten free chicken. Crunchy on the outside and juice soft in the inside. Don't miss out. Try it out.

I have always thought about coming to this place every time when I pass by from Mitsuwa going to Tokyo Central. One day I decided to stop by and order a 12 piece chicken. While I do not like large pieces of chicken, they are so juicy yet the coating so thin and airy when fresh hot. Price wise it's reasonable, I use to get popcorn chicken for around the same price, but I think this is quality over quantity. I will be visiting here more often to get my fix for fried chicken.
