10.28.23 @3p: We traveled 15+miles per a recommendation and OMGEE. .... what a great decision we made today! The lady at the window was kind and considerate as I took a while to get sorted. She was sweet and patient, as well. The food was sooo good and freshly made-to-order! The portions were perfect and so was the seasoning. Since the weather was nice, sitting under the shed may have been a good idea. Instead, we did a grab & go.... I'm going back soon!
This place is great! Ever think about eating a giant bug but it taste delicious and fried? That is what the soft shell blue crab was like! You eat the whole crab legs and all. Will certainly come back here again!
We stopped in for lunch and went back for take-out when we stayed nearby. My fried crab cake sandwich was not bad, but my husband's Sea Monster Po Boy was the winner -- it was bursting with fried grouper, fried shrimp, and small fried scallops. The seasoned fries were hot and well-cooked. The fried green beans were probably good also, but they aren't french fries. This is basically a permanent food truck with picnic tables under a tree or a metal shelter -- extremely casual. The staff is friendly and the food is good.
I was driving in the area last year and saw this place on the side of the road. It looked pretty cool so I decided to stop and give it a try.
First off, I like the concept. They have a truck and a few tables and chairs set up in the back.
As far as food, I got the soft shell crab, green tomatoes, and cheese grits. Everything was fried. It was all ok, but quite greasy.
Overall, not bad but not great.
The best catfish I have ever had. Do not be fooled by the small establishment they are serving amazing food. Not only is the food amazing, the prices are great. On first impression you will see a simple shack on the side of the road and I promise you if you stop it will be 100% worth it. Order the catfish sandwich combo all the way and you will not be sorry. Southern born and raised and it doesn’t get better than this.
Always have to stop by Hutton's when traveling. Freshest seafood at affordable prices. Friendly service.

Stopped here for lunch after a river boat cruise in Crawfordville. Our tour guide on the boat recommended this place as being a good place to get seafood. It was very hot outside today and the heat index was very high but we thought, what the heck! Let's try it under the shelter with a fan blowing on us.
A Fried Shrimp Dinner and Fried Oyster Dinner was ordered with fries and slaw as the sides. We each shared the seafood so we could get a taste of both.
When ordering the Oyster Dinner, we were asked if we wanted it Normal, Medium or Extra Crispy. We have never had this asked before so we ordered it medium. It was a wise choice as they were cooked exactly like we had always eaten them.
The Fried Shrimp were crispy but not overcooked. The slaw had chopped sweet pickles in it, a true southern delight! The french fries were the usual crinkle cut but were freshly cooked. The Hush Puppies did not taste homemade but rather like something out of a bag in the freezer.
This was a wise choice for lunch and I would not hesitate to return in a heartbeat!
Absolutely delicious!!! Super nice folks, huge portions, incredibly reasonable prices, and amazing food. They have outdoor covered seating and it’s so nice and relaxed. Can’t wait to come back.
Grilled shrimp, green beans, hushpuppies, and okra were perfect. The friend shrimp tasted like fish and was salty. The sweet tea was good.
Went today for the 1st time. Excellent experience. Food was great. Definitely coming back.
If you love softshell 🦀 then this is the ace to go!!! Absolutely amazing crab, grouper etc. It's always fantastic and never ever bad!!!
Got a shrimp meal with fries, green tomatoes and hushpuppies and it did not disappoint! The hushpuppies were amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly! They have a shelter with tables. Took a little bit but they make it all fresh and well worth the wait! Glad I made the drive, will be back!
Great seafood. Fried mullet dinner is delicious. Hamburgers and Philly Steak are very good. Emlpoyees are polite and hustle, they get the food out. The site is always clean and neat. I've never seen any trash laying around their picnic tables and table tops are always clean.
I ate at Huttons a few weeks ago. I had the loaded po boy (can't remember the name), with shrimp, fish, and scallops. It was outstanding. The sides were great too. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend stopping by for lunch. You won't be disappointed.
Taking a break on the Decompression Tour and wanted to try something different. The Grouper Burger was fantastic! My wife (Pickest Person on the Planet) was happy with her shrimp and the entire facility impressed (!!!) her with its cleanliness. Looking forward to another visit!
We really enjoyed our food. I wanted to try mullet and it was great here. Baked beans and cheese grits were great too. My husband got the crab cakes and was surprised that they were deep fried and reddish inside but he said they were great. He said the fries were possibly the best fries he had in his life. He also liked the cole slaw. The only downsides were the wait was longer than we expected - about 30 minutes and the sauce was left out of our to go boxes.
Def get the fried Oreos more like a stuffed beignet. The grouper burger should be called a fried grouper filet. Burger implies chopped something, just putting it on a bun dies not a burger Make. But it was a very good grouper sandwich. The fried fish sandwich is good too and the smoked grouper dip is a must and a bargain. Too
What a jewel of a place !! We were not disappointed in any way. It's a quaint roadside stand/truck set up. These folks know what they are doing ! We selected several choices each. Very tasty and glad we chose to eat lunch here while visiting Alligator Point ! Chomp chomp !
