Food was great, my server was fast and attentive. I had eggs, grits and a pancake. Was probably the fastest food I've had in a long time. Way faster than fast food and much better

Let me start by saying two things 1) please note this is real country diner cooking. No frills no hipster nonsense for food it’s real southern country cooking. 2) I haven’t been here in over 10 years until recently. The hours changed since then and they no longer did dinner and were always packed so I just didn’t go in then I moved. With that being said I’m go into my review. I finally made it back in on a whim. This place is the same as it was 20 years ago when I came in as a child and I mean in the best way. They changed the booths which was the only real difference I spotted. I’m so glad most of the items from my childhood were still on the menu. The specials are updated almost daily on the menu board which is great. I got my childhood favorite grilled cheese but instead of fries I got the potato salad. My mom got the crab cakes with hush puppies, fried okra, and beets. I was surprised at the crab cakes the most out of everything we ordered. They were deep fried and had a good flavor. I’m going to try to make it in more often now that I know it’s still the same cooking they’ve had for almost 30 years.
My fiance and I got the country fried steak and a side of biscuits and gravy, it was simply delicious! The gravy was absolutely the best part. The food came out of the kitchen very quickly. We sat at the 'bar' and while we waited we noticed the staff was very friendly and interactive with us 🙂 We don't live close but I would definitely go back again and again if it was near by. Great little stop!
Excellent home-style breakfast and lunch. Good food, good portions, excellent service for a good price.
Might not be the best choice if you are worried about covid. Few patrons and staff wearing masks. The place was crowded at 10:30 am on a Saturday.
If you are not worried, it's an excellent choice. It is right on the corner of Hwy 19 and the road to Ft Island Beach 🏖
very popular with the locals. Great breakfast at a fair price. Only negative would be the lack of mask wearing among locals and staff. I guess it's to be expected by all the MAGA we saw. We know how that went for POTUS
Fantastic home-style food and prices! Went there two of three mornings that I was in town. Warmly welcomed and taken care of by everyone!
The parking lot was overflowing. Did not want to go but my friend insisted. I was angry and hated we had to wait in such a long line however it moved extremely fast and we were eating in no time. Food was probably one of my breakfast out meals. Great job guys!!
Great diner type food... Their country ham is wonderful. I also get their fried chicken livers. I see many folks like their sausage gravy with biscuits. They have very good fried chicken also
