Rather Be In Darmstadt

Good portion size. Pasta was perfectly done. I recommend the Sangria.
Wine + cheese = great meal!. They have a great selection of wines to sip while you enjoy delicious Italian cured meats and aged cheeses. Great atmosphere too! Great place to go for two or with a group of friends.
Pleasant!. Friendly and attentive staff, a pleasant outdoor seating area (especially on what was a gorgeous, breezy day in Culver City). I went with one of the "light" options on the pasta menu. It tasted very fresh and the portion was generous (needed a doggie bag to take home). The prices are reasonable for the atmosphere and what you get.
Almost as if you were in Venezia.... This is a European cafe. It says so right on the first page of the menu. Actually, Ugo simply touts itself as an "Italian" cafe.
Did I feel like I was sitting somewhere in Florence? Pretty darn close. Bellini: CHECK, Limencello-y drinks: CHECK. Usage of the word "nutella: doubly CHECK. Neighbors conversing in Italian: CHECK. Stiff espresso: CHECK. Outdoor seating: CHECK. tubs of gelato: triple CHECK. Gorgeous hostess rockin' an Italian accent: UBER CHECK.
Ugo Italian Bar is the offshoot of Ugo Cafe (which ironically has a bar directly connected - Vinum Populi) located on the corner of Culver/Cardiff Culver City. Original UGO never tempted me in, yet when I read about espresso, gelato AND bellini, I knew I found a west side Caffe Florian. UGO-IB has spacious outdoor seating, a few tables inside, and true to Euro-style, an actual bar where people gather.
Being the first week of opening, service suffered a bit. While the gelato displays were full, the heat lamps were dead, multiple spirits were not avail and our caf order went amiss after a 15 minute wait. Beyond that, the carrot cake had a nice cream cheese frosting and the entire dessert case looked fun.
Overall, a fun alternative to Vinum Populi (now closed) and a fine addition to Culver City, without the annoyingly loud babbling American tourists.
Wine. Ugo is known for their restaurant, but they have a great little wine tasting bar connected to it. Great wine selection!
There was a lot of outdoor seating and it was slightly secluded from the road as well, so it was perfect. We just took a quick peek at the menu to make sure that there was something vegetarian for me to eat and took our seats outside. I found the Primaver
It is very important for me if an Italian restaurant has wood fired oven or not. They have. It was delicious pizza.
No complaints! Simple food, good food. I ordered an $8 spinach dish and wasn't quite expecting it to be just wilted spinach on a plate, but it was garlicky and delicious anyway. Very good atmosphere, the waiter was real friendly. Moscow mule was on the less sweet side, which I really enjoyed. Proper dinner for sure!
This is a cute little Italian spot that is perfect for a date night! They had a shrimp scampi special which was incredible! Good list of wines. If you're in Culver city, give this a shot. I suggest sitting outside in the evening. They have plenty of shade and heaters.
Classy food, good proportions, a family-owned restaurant with excellent waitstaff. Very fresh small bite pastry desserts from a local Italian bakery--try the hand-filled traditional canoli with slightly sweetened ricotta and crushed pistachios, can't get any fresher! Also coffee is great!
Been here several times.. the pizza is definitely the best. Gelato is great as well.
Food was tasty and well cooked. They have a good happy hour for food and beverages. I liked the waiter he was polite and friendly.
Wow! I am not exaggerating when I say I had the best pasta I have ever tasted. I ordered the spaghetti amalfi and its creamy goodness was superb! I do wish the portion could have been larger but my taste buds enjoyed very much!
I enjoy this place, pizza was delicious and service was fast & kind. the environment is delightful
