I had a fantastic experience here. It's the perfect blend of a high end atmosphere with quick dishes and minimal human contact. You order from the tablet at your table, and when the food is ready, it comes to your table. The teas are quality loose leaf teas from Lupicia, many of which I had tried at some point before this lunch. I had the sukiyaki, which had phenomenal flavor, though the broth was too sweet to consume on its own. I loved the variety of dishes that come out when you order. There's a combination of flavors and textures from chewy rice to crunchy pickled veggies, to soft warm noodles, to rich slices of beef dipped in slow cooked egg. The ingredients were top quality and the yolk of the egg was such a rich red-orange color with a wonderfully decadent flavor. My husband had the tonkatsu, which is his favorite dish. For dessert we had the black sesame ice cream, which was served with a small container of molasses to drizzle over the top, which added the perfect amount of complexity and sweetness. My husband eats regularly at the Palo Alto location and was thrilled that there's a location closer to us now. Definitely will be going back!

We brought friends here for lunch. Everyone loved their food, they commented that they liked the flavors and especially how the food was served on the trays. It reminded them of how the food was served to them when they went to visit relatives in Japan. Also, the "No Tip" policy is something unusual, but it's nice for a change. They all want to go back to eat again soon.

Really good food...served fast and love the hi-tech ordering on a tablet. I'll definitely be back.

We ordered Chicken Katsu Toji and Katsu Toji (pork). Both served in dark clay pots that keep food warm. The Katsu Toji wraps egg, and onions around boneless meat and simmered together is fantastic. We both finished the entire rice bowls as the dishes are very tasty. Don't remember when this happened last time, must be long ago. They serve one glass of free tea but we also ordered Matcha Genmai Cha hot tea which smells nice and has toasted nutty flavor. They use tablet for both order and service. The tablet also shows status of your orders. To refill hot water in our tea pot, we simply click on "need help" and then click on "refill hot water". Very well design. The waitress are very responsive for all helps. Overall very enjoyable lunch experience. One thing to note is once you click "add to tray" on any individual item, the order is taken. Thus is very different than most online shopping experience which need one confirmation for the entire orders in the tray. Be watch out for this.

Great food, service is also on point. It's really hard to find a good thick piece of Tonkatsu (people who've been to Asia/Japan will know what I'm talking about). There were quite a few things out of stock when I went, so that's mildly frustrating. The sushi bites are slightly expensive but taste good. The salmon they use is not the normal fatty sashimi ones in sushi restaurants, it's much leaner and tougher in texture, just a heads up on that. Unagi Don is delicious but my wallet hates me.

Always a pleasant dining experience, before and during the pandemic. Human contact is minimal, but never at the expense of good customer service. You place your order on a tablet, and you will get your food in less than 15 minutes.

Food is pretty good. Portions are on the small side, price lil high for what you get. It is Japanese food so it will be expensive. Line is typically long, they close early and there is always a wait.

I’ve eaten a lot of tonkatsu curry rice from all around the globe and this is one of the best ones. I picked up and drove home 20 minutes journey and the pork outside was still flakey in a fresh way and juicy inside and not overfried. Very good.👍

The atmosphere is great. You order through a pad device, which you can track the process of order. If you need help, you can select the help you need from the help menu on the pad device, too. The price may look a bit higher than other Japanese restaurants, but it has already includes tip, so it's quite reasonable. There are quite a lot of selections on the menu. We enjoyed the food we ordered, except the beef sukiyaki is a bit salty for me. The presentation of food is very nice, too.
